Gameball Monday: Seahawks @ Titans
By Jeff Fuqua
Posted December 19th, 2005
A gameball is given each Monday to a player on offense, defense and special teams.
Offense
Steve McNair
23-for-38 for 310 yards and 2 touchdowns, 2 rushes for 13 yards
Despite
another week he was unable to practice due to ankle and shin problems,
McNair had his best game of the season as his receivers left the
dropsies at home. His passer rating of 104.1 was his second-highest of
the season and he didn't throw an interception or get sacked.
McNair commented after the game:
I think based on what they gave us defensively we looked at film and they do
a lot of man-to-man coverage and we wanted to take advantage of that. We wanted
to come out aggressive and continue to work the ball downfield. The offensive
line did an excellent job today protecting me, the receivers made plays, especially
with run after catch. When you have tight ends that are making big plays those
are the things we have to do consistently. I think offensively we did some good
things, but there is always room to improve.
Honorable Mention: Ben Troupe - 6 catches for 116 yards
Defense
Travis LaBoy
7 Tackles, 1 Sack
LaBoy
has been attempting to avoid the "injury prone" label since being
drafted. Among the sophomore DEs drafted last year, he's made the most
strides the second half of the season. He now has 35 tackles and six
sacks on the season.
Honorable Mention: Keith Bulluck - 8 tackles
Special Teams
Donnie Nickey
Caught a 26-yard pass from Craig Hentrich on fourth down. Had 2 tackles on special teams.
What didn't work in Cleveland worked to perfection yesterday though the Titans were unable to turn it into a score.
Honorable Mention: Antwan Odom - blocked field goal
