Titans Routed in Big D 30-10
Staff Report
Aug 22, 2009
Both the Tennessee Titans starting offense and defense sputtered on the way to a 30-10 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. The Titans were only able to generate 78 yards of offense while the Cowboys had 249 yards. "Overall it was not one of our better efforts," Coach Jeff Fisher
said. "We need to do a better job offensively. We couldn't get a first
down. … We didn't do some things we are capable of doing." The highlights for the Titans was a 17-yard TD from Kerry Collins to Justin Gage and the play of rookie Javon Ringer. Ringer rushed five times for 33 yards and had a 17-yard touchdown run
nullified by a penalty. He showed good hands as a receiver, catching
two passes, including a one-handed grab. He also proved to be a force
on special teams, averaging 34 yards on two kickoff returns.
