Smack Central, oh boy the next few months are gonna be crazy and we won't see a colt fan in here for a while.

The Colts are gonna get a bashing.

It couldn't have happened to a better team. These guys suck. And now they have another season to wallow in their suckiness.
They will never have a better chance than this year. The Pat's were down, Pittsburg isn't as good as last year, and our division was down. Our division even played a bunch of crappy teams this year (notice the Jags and Colts regular season was much better than their post seasons) and Indy didn't even have to play football in a breeze. Home field advantage, SuperBowl to be played in a dome.
There will never be a better chance for them, they suck.

As much as it sucked, I would still rather come up one yard short. At least we have a Lamar Hunt Trophy and the memory of Bruce Mathews hoisting it in celebration.

It will raise even more questions in Peyton's mind. Doubt. Remorse. Regret.

There's no doubt in Peyton's mind -- it's someone else's fault. Remorse not likely. Regret that they didn't convince someone to fix it.

Well....here I am.

Go ahead...bash away....it's okay. Maybe it's true we'll never have a better chance than this year. Maybe it's not. Life goes on...next season will come...and I have no doubt the Colts will win ANOTHER AFC South Championship. The Texans and Titans sure as hell aren't gonna win it...and the Jags still have Del Porno to mess things up for them. The Colts will be strong again. We're young but have a lot of young guys that've played together quite a bit. That should serve us well.
The Titans have a lot of questions to answer in the off season. Frankly I hope you guys get it together and become competitive again next year. Colts/Titans has become a pretty good rivalry and I enjoy coming here and getting smacked around a little bit every now and then. But it's more fun when we're both good. See if you can talk your guys into holding up their end of the bargain next year, okay? :)) :ha:

Will do.

It's not even a rivalry when it's so one-sided.

with Indy's impending demise due to salary cap abuse, I can't wait til we're back on top of the division

(sure hope that's soon)

NOT gonna happen. Indy actually has a GM who understands finances.

Of course, they MAY lose Wayne and Thornton in the off-season, and that would suck, and get rid of Vandershank, but other than that, they are in pretty decent shape.

And Indy's QB understands choking. What a marriage. :ha:

I'm surprised you took the aluminum foil off your windows and ventured out so quickly after Peytons most recent choke.
Keep hope alive, maybe someday Peyton won't let it all slip away during the big game......YEAH RIGHT!!!!!!:)

Simon - lots of money
Thorton - lots of money
Wayne - tonnes of money
Edge - tonnes of money
June - lots of money.

Then you got
Manning - earns tonnes of money
Harrison - earns tonnes of money
Stokely - earns a lot of money
O-Line - Alot of money

Then you got

Freeney - Free Agent to be, can you keep him.

Your good financial GM will have an interesting off-season

Yeah, Thornton and Wayne may be gone. Simon, well, he does have a balloon payment due, and if he wants to stay, he'll restructure, otherwise, yeah, he'll be gone, but not a huge deal if he is. All along I've been one of the few who has been firmly in the camp saying that Edge will be back, no matter what, and Wayne may be allowed to walk. Cato June is a restricted FA, and it is less likely he's gone because of that.

As for money, yeah, Peyton makes a lot of money. IMO, he earns it. Did he play poorly in the playoff game? Yeah. I'd even say he choked. But I still consider him the best in the league at his position, agree to disagree, but there you have it. Harrison, not making TONS of money, but he is getting a lot. Stokes gets a pretty good payday for a #3 WR, you've got a good point there, but I'm not sure that his cap hit is that monstrous. As for the O-line, other than Glenn, they all make MUCH less than the league average, so there isn't much money tied up there. Of course, they played like it in the Steelers game.

Freeney is not a FA until 2008. His contract is unwieldy, but that just means restructuring is ahead. He'll certainly get paid, but with the way bonuses (sp???) can be amortized out, it won't be crippling. Of course, that is assuming the new CBA is worked out, because as I understand it, no money can be amortized out beyond next year until it is (I could be wrong on that one). Also, the Salary Cap went up significantly for next season, creating some more room.

So, yeah, it WILL be an interesting off-season for our GM. At most though, the Colts will lose their #2 WR, their starting SAM, a starting DT (and possibly his backup is gone too), and their field goal kicker (good riddance to him too). That'll hurt, but that is what the draft and young 2nd and 3rd year players are for. Won't be crippling, and they are still the class of the division.

What d'you got?

Vandershank prediction...

To the chagrin of the Colts, once dealt out he goes on
to kick game winning FG in future SB.

Freeney won't be crippling? HAHA. Jevon got $60 million, Freeney will want much more then that.
