View Full Version : Manning points his finger...
Hoffa 01-15-2006, 06:28 PM At the post game conference Peyton said:
"I'm trying to be a good teammate here (pause) but we had some protection problems..."
Way to call out and blame your offensive line, Peyton. I'm sure they'll try real hard to protect you in the future with the leadership you've shown them there.
Gunny 01-15-2006, 06:33 PM what a friggin jerk off. I hate the guy, he always blames someone else.
FightinTitan 01-15-2006, 06:41 PM Manning showed a total lack of class.
Peyton Manning was a great Volunteer and arguably the best passing QB to ever play in the NFL. I have nothing but respect for his abilities on the field.
Manning dissed and embarrassed his coach on national TV and then pointed the finger of blame at his offensive line in the post game interview. Thats were I draw the line of respect for Manning. Thats right out of the Pac Man Jones playbook of excuses.
In the post-game interview he stated he wanted to be a good team mate, but that the Colts had several breakdowns in pass protection. He credited the Steelers for their pass rush but again stated that their were numerous pass protection breakdowns by his team mates.
There were some protection breakdowns on the part of his team mates, but you don't call them out and point fingers at them in post-game interviews on national TV. Its not like every pass he threw today was a good pass.
As far as the dissing of his coach, the shake off of the punt team turned out work fine for the Colts. However, Manning could have callled a time out to disccuss it with Dungy. The way he handled it, made Tony Dungy look like a total imbecile.
Titans2008 01-15-2006, 06:42 PM Especially considering they had the game tied if Vanderjagt hadn't choked.
SEC 330 BIPOLAR 01-15-2006, 06:43 PM Just another reason to hate Manning IMHO.

I'm just starting page 426 in the list of reasons to hate him.
moose4now 01-15-2006, 09:54 PM Just another reason to hate Manning IMHO.
I don't need anymore.
He's a "Grade A" a--h--e.
That's reason enough for me.
avvie 01-15-2006, 10:32 PM I think it's great that he did that on national TV! Now everyone who's been clutching his jockstrap can see what we've known all along.
he did the same thing IMO when he got the MVP nomination: "I guess I'm hot right now....I mean, we're hot now...."
Vanderjagt choked hard...no question about it. But he said before that his job is easy until the game is on the line......he's admitted that he's capable of screwing up. I've never heard that from Manning.
I'll tell you what I'd like to hear from Dungy and Irsay: "Peyton, could we see you in our office, please? Oh, and bring your contract."
Gunny 01-15-2006, 11:05 PM Well the Colts probably are not paying Peyton that much. Surely he'd had payments based on playoff wins and well....you know.
SEC 330 BIPOLAR 01-16-2006, 01:21 AM I'll tell you what I'd like to hear from Dungy and Irsay: "Peyton, could we see you in our office, please? Oh, and bring your contract."
I heard that... That would be a hoot.

What? Where is Starkiller when you need him? Not paying him?
Peyton has more money than Quaker has oats.
he is supposedly cap friendly for a couple of seasons - BUT the whole 100M or whatever was guranteed so cutting the GAYton would bring all that forward ...

Well I would assume most contracts have clauses about playoff wins and the like, since Peyton has perfected the art of choking in the playoffs they don't have to pay him extra. :ha:
Starkiller 01-16-2006, 10:35 AM Hey, if you were Peyton, would you have agreed to incentives based on playoff wins? I thought not... :ha:
TitanFan62702 01-16-2006, 11:54 AM Did anyone hear the rest of the Manning's comments? I'm not sure if it was at the same time as the protection stuff, but I also heard him talk about how he plays every season like it's his last etc etc but the comment I really liked NOT was that there are so many games --- lets see 4 + 16 + 1, that's 21 in a year. He sat out parts of at least 5 or 6 and shouldn't have been there yesterday. That's as many as most baseball players play in a month.... poor baby.
Laserjock 01-16-2006, 07:03 PM Good thing he did not try to make a living playing hockey....how those guys play 80+ games a year [plus post season] I will never understand....
He should hit the turf as much as Carr does...I am sure Carr is thinking..."ya big wuss"

If he did he'd be broke.
MadAboutMcNair 01-17-2006, 06:42 AM All of this egg on Peyton's face sure makes me feel better about his offhanded Mcnair remarks in the offseason. I wonder if he would like to try "putting on a brace and limping around". Maybe he could win an AFC championship.
Glory be, this is a wonderful week. I thought I was going to have to see the colts proclaimed the greatest team in history or some other crap. This takes some of the stink off this NFL season for me.
TitanJeff 01-17-2006, 08:48 AM Nothing softens the blow of a horrible season like getting a top three draft pick and seeing the Colts crash and burn yet again.
Starkiller 01-17-2006, 03:47 PM Yeah, the only difference between where we are today and where the Colts are is that we have a better pick...

I was ready to give up football for the season, but now I can hardly wait for Sunday's games. No Manning, no Dingy, no Colts!!! What could be better than that??? I know Titans playing the Broncos.
Mrs. Bipolar 01-18-2006, 08:14 PM He should hit the turf as much as Carr does...I am sure Carr is thinking..."ya big wuss"
Carr is too cute to take that much punishment.
avvie 01-19-2006, 06:10 PM Carr is too cute to take that much punishment.
That's why we should try to sign him. We need more hot chicks in the stadium.
jags98 02-14-2006, 03:53 PM And at the ProBowl he trys to play the " I would never do that to my teammates" joke.
TitanKid4Life 02-14-2006, 08:09 PM i dont think that they can take away money for how they do in the playoffs only give u more money, because if they took it away the players would be complaining all the time
TitanFan62702 02-15-2006, 01:40 PM The whole pro bowl week was "dedicated" to making Manning look good. Didn't work!
