down by 3 and it is 4th and 16 from you own 11 1:30ish left in the game and ya got all three timeouts left. If you make the first down you are still not in FG range, if you don't make it the game SHOULD be over.
dolts choose to go for the first instead of punting and expecting their D to hold and getting the ball back with like 1:00ish left on the clock still only needing a FG.
When Gayton was sacked I told a buddy of mine that going for that first was the single most arrogant/silly call I have ever seen and the dolts desreve to loose just for that call.
Then "short" Bus proved he was "special" and gave the dolts another chance. But justice was dished out coldly as that liquiered up kicker pushed the attempt 20 yards right
