View Full Version : Any word on USC pro day? dman050586 04-02-2006, 03:43 PM Give me updates please! :) Gene the PIG 04-02-2006, 04:44 PM This is what I got from lurking, so take it for what it's worth: From the Houston Texans message board 24 reps @ 225 lbs 40.5" verticle 10'8" broad jump Somebody on kffl's MB said Reggie ran the 40 in 4.33 Updates on other Trojans: Dominique Byrd 16 reps, 36" verticle, 9'8" broad Taitusi Lutui 26 reps, 32" verticle, 8'6" broad Fred Matua 25 reps, 30" verticle, 8'7" broad Bush's 40 times - 4.33 & 4.37 Leinart - 37" vertical, 9'5" broad jump. Only 15 reps for Lendale White bigtitan53279 04-02-2006, 04:59 PM http://nfl.com/draft/story/9353513 titanduck77 04-02-2006, 05:01 PM reggie is a beast i want him a titan like no tommorow bigtitan53279 04-02-2006, 05:08 PM " All 40-yard dash times were clocked electronically, which historically adds about 8/10 of a second to the actual time. For instance, if someone ran the 40 in 4.50 seconds, it really means he ran it in about 4.42 seconds." look at bush's time. that means he really ran something like a 4.25. GoTitans3801 04-02-2006, 07:06 PM Hot damn... Gunny 04-02-2006, 07:10 PM gee i guess he really ruined his chances at going #1. Sunshine 04-02-2006, 07:53 PM " All 40-yard dash times were clocked electronically, which historically adds about 8/10 of a second to the actual time. For instance, if someone ran the 40 in 4.50 seconds, it really means he ran it in about 4.42 seconds." look at bush's time. that means he really ran something like a 4.25. Need some clarification here -- 8/10 is .8; 8/100 is .08. maximus 04-02-2006, 08:14 PM No 40 time for Leinart. I think he still is running :winker: Puck 04-02-2006, 09:09 PM intersting that all you heard about for days was Texas' Pro Day and I have barely seen any reports about USC's like how did Leinart look throwing, scrambling, rolling-out, etc.... Titanpride 04-02-2006, 09:19 PM Reports from USC Pro-day Resource: Yahoo http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=Ars84k6bBcR_285iyACWwq9DubYF?slug=ap-usc-draft&prov=ap&type=lgns Gunny 04-02-2006, 09:29 PM Tennessee meeting with Reggie? Soxcat 04-02-2006, 09:39 PM The most impressive guy might have been Justice. Big (320 pounds), strong (38 reps) and still has a 39 inch vertical. Guy looks like he could be an all-pro DT. He might end up being the best OT down the road. titanduck77 04-02-2006, 09:44 PM wow i cant believe how many reps lendal white got, kinda skimpy, he should have ran the 40. and 244 wow! that is overweight for him. He came out of shape i think. this should drop him a couple picks down. RollTide 04-03-2006, 12:29 AM Too many good backs in this draft for someone to jump ahead and get him. We know that bush and williams will come off before he does and there are a lot of good prospects other than them. Maroney ran a 4,49 with a bad hamstring and addai was very impressive at the combine with a 4.4. Why take white when he refused to run and didn't lift well? Didn't lendale say that he weighed 250+ in the rose bowl? Of course the positive here is that we can get him now with our second pick.:greedy: Gunny 04-03-2006, 12:38 AM we could get him but I doubt we will. May as well wait until next year and get Peterson or someone. Titans2004 04-03-2006, 12:40 AM William Buchanon put up some good numbers. Sub 4.4 40yd with 40 inch vertical and 6'3"....love the measurables, must have bricks for hands or did he just get buried behind Mike Williams, Dwayne Jarrett, Steve Smith...hopefully Chow has some scoop. RollTide 04-03-2006, 12:52 AM Based on his mediocre or nonexistant workouts it's not at all unrealistic to think that 3 RBs and maybe 4 will be taken ahead of him. There are not a huge number of teams looking for a RB either. One of course will be the colts who would love to have their pick of maroney, addai and white when they come up. Don't you think that addai or maroney are the more likey choices for them? Guys who can catch the football. Gunny 04-03-2006, 01:15 AM oh i'm not saying it is unrealistic he won't be there when we pick again at #2. I am just saying I dont think we will go that route anyway.....not when we already have Reggie as our #1 pick....:brow: Gunny 04-03-2006, 01:19 AM of course he fits the Pittsburgh type RB. Vigsted 04-03-2006, 06:03 AM There's a clip of Matt Leinarts pro-day at espn.com, as well as interviews with Chow and Fisher. To me he looked good and I would not be sad to see us draft him as the #1 QB. nigel 04-03-2006, 08:48 AM White didn't seem concerned about not being able to work out. "I'm the only true big back in the first round, and people who want the physical runner are going to have to look at me," he said. Is this kid getting career advice from Maurice Clarett or something? Sounds like he's got a sense of entitlement. Riverman 04-03-2006, 09:09 AM There's a clip of Matt Leinarts pro-day at espn.com, as well as interviews with Chow and Fisher. To me he looked good and I would not be sad to see us draft him as the #1 QB. 36 of 46 with 4 drops and several "floaters". Leinart admitted himself he wasn't as sharp as he would have liked to have been. Plus he didn't run- wonder why? Puck 04-03-2006, 09:42 AM Plus he didn't run- wonder why? he didn't want people calling him Matt Clarrett Riverman 04-03-2006, 09:45 AM he didn't want people calling him Matt Clarrett I heard they couldn't get the calendar working. Vigsted 04-03-2006, 10:37 AM 36 of 46 with 4 drops and several "floaters". Leinart admitted himself he wasn't as sharp as he would have liked to have been. Plus he didn't run- wonder why? Well, I would have liked him to run as well, but unlike VY it's not an integral part of his game, so I understand why he skipped it, although I think he should have done it. And personally I don't put that much stock in the actual number of completions in these excercises. Unless his throws were all over the place, the important thing is to see how he sets up, releases and how the ball gets there. bromike 04-03-2006, 10:43 AM it's very interesting how everything is hush hush on Leinart's pro day. As much as the media loves Leinart his pro day must have been totally unimpresive. Gunny 04-03-2006, 10:47 AM Well I guess the Titans are still stuck with Young as the #3 pick in the mock draft. Soxcat 04-03-2006, 12:22 PM it's very interesting how everything is hush hush on Leinart's pro day. As much as the media loves Leinart his pro day must have been totally unimpresive. Yea, I would assume if Cutler or Young missed 10 passes we would have heard comments like they were going to drop. Seems like Leinart wasn't spectacular at all and we don't hear anything. Titans2008 04-03-2006, 01:09 PM I think the main difference is that Leinart has been one of the top passers in the nation for the last three years while Young and Cutler have only recently made that claim. I don't think there is any reason to think that Leinart can't throw all of the sudden. I'm sure he just had the jitters. Ewker 04-03-2006, 01:41 PM IMO, if Cutler ran and Young had to be coaxed into running then Leinart should have ran. GLinks 04-03-2006, 02:19 PM I seriously doubt LenDale White gets out of the first. There are the Colts, but there is Pittsburgh at the end of the round, and New England and Denver before that, though I think Denver could take Maroney. In round two, the Jets could take him, Green Bay, SF, Oakland -- all could make a case. I don't see it happening. GLinks 04-03-2006, 02:20 PM Though we could trade up if we see him falling. Riverman 04-03-2006, 02:36 PM I think the main difference is that Leinart has been one of the top passers in the nation for the last three years while Young and Cutler have only recently made that claim. I don't think there is any reason to think that Leinart can't throw all of the sudden. I'm sure he just had the jitters. Jitters like an all-pro NFL defensive end can give you? Sunshine 04-03-2006, 03:26 PM I think the main difference is that Leinart has been one of the top passers in the nation for the last three years while Young and Cutler have only recently made that claim. . . . Does Leinart have two years more experience that Young and Cutler? If so, maybe that's why. Titans2008 04-03-2006, 04:09 PM I think Cutler was a four year starter. Young redshirted and then started 2 and a half seasons I think. Leinart played in a few games as a freshman and then started his last three seasons. Slipjack 04-03-2006, 10:46 PM  All the bickering aside, if Leinart had an avg workout doesn't this put us in the catbirds seat, as all three should be there at the 3 spot? SEC 330 BIPOLAR 04-03-2006, 11:06 PM All the bickering aside, if Leinart had an avg workout doesn't this put us in the catbirds seat, as all three should be there at the 3 spot? Haven't you heard?http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f95/bipolartitan/rant.gif When Matt Leinart lays an egg the whole world swears it's made of gold. Jay Cutler has to be perfect in hurricane gail type wind with both eyes gouged out with fire ants in his football pants before he can get a lick of praise. People talk about Vince Young like he can't write his own name let alone go back for a senior year of college. http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f95/bipolartitan/rant.gifThe whole world has been telling Matt Leinart that he is the epitome of the NFL's golden boy... He's already talking like he's going to take a bite out of the Big Apple... http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f95/bipolartitan/rant.gifHe's like... yeah, uh... I can be that kind of super star... I can be this generations Joe Nameth... let me grab my sportscream, my leggins, my shades and my fur and I'll see you out there for warm-ups right after I finish this ciggarette because I'm OLD SCHOOL!!! http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f95/bipolartitan/rant.gifYeah, baby... I don't need to run to play football... I'll just take three step drops all day long...the 40? Oh you mean this beer? Yeah, me and Rothlisburger are homeboys... I love to P - A - R - T - Y ... PARTY!!! Yeah!!! TitanKid4Life 04-03-2006, 11:59 PM ya i think leinhart is a ****y little fag and couldnt admit after the rose bowl game that texas was better than them, and that vince is the better qb SEC 330 BIPOLAR 04-04-2006, 12:46 AM ya i think leinhart is a ****y little fag and couldnt admit after the rose bowl game that texas was better than them, and that vince is the better qb  I'm not trying to preech hate here... your response is funny though. I wouldn't go as far as to call him a fag. Peyton is a fag. You only save that for somebody worth hatin on... but, seriously, as a fan, Leinart gets praise when he poops on the rug. He can do no wrong and just wait and see... He will get the Peyton treatment once he is the man somewhere. |
