View Full Version : Draft Prospects Begin Visits to Titans
goTitans.com 04-06-2006, 08:28 AM SUMMARY: The first of the 30 draft prospect visits allowed by the league began yesterday when LB D'Qwell Jackson of Maryland, CB Tye Hill from Clemson and WR Jeff Webb from San Diego State visited Baptist Sports Park. Between now and April 21, the Titans will bring in a number of players to ask some questions they didn't get answered at the scouting combine or get more information on medical concerns. Titans GM Floyd Reese does not think his team will use all of their visits though Vanderbilt Jay Cutler will come in to perform the same workout recently completed by USC's Matt Leinart and Texas QB Vince Young.

Ewker 04-06-2006, 09:17 AM will all the hype about Cutler start up again when he throws to the Titans wr's. If he does great throwing to the wr's that will leave a very positive feeling about him. Of course he could totally screw up and drop real fast.
This could be his make or break opportunity.

Gunny 04-06-2006, 10:38 PM well he is new to the forum.
dman050586 04-06-2006, 11:01 PM Well the saints just traded their LT to the falcons. to ferguson now looks 2 b a lock at # 2. that means we will have the choice of all three QBs. i hope that we pick young!!!
Gunny 04-07-2006, 02:57 AM also means the Saints can trade down to someone who wants one of the QBs.

We could be opening against Leinart's team.
fltitan 04-07-2006, 10:31 AM Jets trade up to #2 and N.O. moves to #4 Jets take Leinart Titans take Young NO still gets Ferguson. Makes a lot of sense for NO.

Love it!!!!:ha:
Soxcat 04-07-2006, 10:44 AM also means the Saints can trade down to someone who wants one of the QBs.
If they want Brick the Jets might be the only team they could deal with. If they were willing to settle for Justice of course they could trade down further. The point is they put themselves in a postion to draft a LT as a high priority.
Gunny 04-07-2006, 10:56 AM true true.
which means if Reggie doesnt go #1, the saints could trade out and he could go #2.
bigtitan53279 04-07-2006, 01:39 PM "Saints draft preview- Don't count on the Saints taking D'Brickashaw Ferguson by their trade of left tackle Wayne Gandy to the Falcons. Giving away a left tackle for a safety and a low-round pick in 2007 and a safety, Byron Scott, would tip off a draft move for a team that has the second pick in the draft, but that's a wrong read. The Saints drafted Jammal Brown in the first round last year and plan to move him to left tackle. He played right tackle last year. The Saints still like North Carolina State defensive end Mario Williams."
john clayton.
LazyManJackson 04-07-2006, 01:47 PM For me, Jackson in the second would make a lot of sense for the Titans.
NO will take D'Brick
Titans2008 04-07-2006, 05:12 PM Don't overlook that NO could easily get a starting RT in the 2nd round. Drafting Ferguson is definately not a lock. I still think they will go Mario or possibly drop down around 10 and get Justice.
GLinks 04-07-2006, 07:25 PM They still have Stinchcomb (sp?), though that's not saying much, but since Brees is still playing on a contract that the Saints could get out of after one year if he doesn't live up, they could draft Leinart in the first. Jammal Brown would stay at the right side, making him Leinart's LT, and then they could take another tackle in the 2nd.
TouchDown29 04-08-2006, 02:35 AM I think 85% of the time the so called experts are wrong and that have no better idea than you and I.

TJ,
Don't you still have a bet with another forum member that Cutler will not go in the 1st 16?
LazyManJackson 04-08-2006, 04:19 AM I still feel that D'Brick is the most probable pick by NO
TitanJeff 04-08-2006, 09:35 AM TJ,

Yup. Forgot who tho. I think I will have to adjust my sig photo and have Einstein write something of that user's choice if I lose. ;)

Clayton might be right but the Saints have two DEs that were drafted in the first round. They also have a QB who is coming off shoulder surgery. If I were them I would be looking for the best LT they can find.
They also have a RB coming off injury.
TitanJeff 04-08-2006, 10:30 AM Cutler worked out yesterday (I'm guessing in the bubble) with three Titans receivers and got the following praise from Reese.
"I thought he did fine,'' Titans General Manager Floyd Reese said.
That's about as vanilla a response as you can get which indicates the Titans will try to trade out and get him. ;)
Gunny 04-08-2006, 12:26 PM You know TJ, as the head honcho of this here brilliant forum, I find it disturbing at your lack of respect for the edit button. What kind of example does that set for the children? :brow:
Reese's response on Cutler actually means he is the best thing since sliced bread.

I attempt to maintain a small shred of integrity when it comes to a bet. :)
I actually said I didn't think he'd be taken in the first round at all. But this was before the Senior Bowl, Combine and Pro Day workouts.
