That is what I am thinking more and more bout now. I am a big UT fan so I would love to see Kevin Simon on the team.

the last thing we need is an oft-injured linebacker.

Absolutely.

OT is feasible in the 2nd, and I've been thinking awhile that we could forego MLB in the 2nd if Addai or the right OT is there.

Eric Winston could last until the 2nd, but I think the Texans plan to address OL with the first pick of the 2nd round, and that would be Winston if he fell out of the first. If McNeill did instead, I think they'd take him, too.

Then I'm not sure if there is another we'd take with our 2nd.

Ryan O'Callaghan has gained a lot of popularity, so he's a possibility, but our pick seems a little high, IMO. He's had some injuries, but they could like him a lot. Said on Sirius that he was recovered from a shoulder injury.

Jon Scott would seem like the next likely, but I'm not sure if he can play the right or would be an improvement over Roos on the left, which offhand I don't think he is (but I don't know for sure, either).

Most of the other OTs, like Colledge, Trueblood and Whitworth seem like mid-late 2nd or 3rd rounders IMO.

I think the value will be had at the guard position in the 2nd rnd.

With the depth of the LBs this yr a solid MLB should be able to be snagged on day #2 like Tim Dobbins or Tim McGarigle

I believe now, after all the FA activity, that we'll draft the BPA with our 2nd rounder. Personally I hope the likes of Addai or Maroney fall to us or a top OG/OT prospect. MLB really doesn't need to be addressed so high, since the position won't be used much in our scheme.

I agree, BPA. Get a 1st round talent that drops. There might be alot more value at other postions although Jackson could be rated very high for them. He would also give them some depth on the outside because he has the ability to move out there IMO.

If we draft an OL in the second I think it will be an OT. We have Bell and Stewart to play inside and it would be nice to get another guy like Roos who can be a solid RT who could move to LT if Roos were to get injured. This looks like a good year to go that route. If a guy like McNeill or Winston were to fall to us we should jump on it.

The other option would be RB if Addai or Maroney fell to us. Brown is in his last year of his contract and both those guys seem like decent value.

I see us going MLB only if the OTs and RBs we covet are gone. We really are not desperate at MLB if we have Sirmon or a FA. They might even like Reynolds enough to give him a shot.

Another option could still be S or CB. If a guy they have rated as a 1st round talent should drop they might consider it although with Fuller looks to be the guy who will fight for playing time at either NB or FS.

I am a big UT fan, but I believe the Titans should stay away from Simon like the Plague

I hope a Olineman drops, it's what we really need to address, at least we've already done something for our LBs and secondary...

that means we essentially used 2 first day picks on runningbacks this year. no thanks.

the only way that happens is if bush falls to us in the first, and even then i would rather trade the pick for a king's ransom.

TitanKid4Life

well i dont know about trading bush, he can make the big plays happen when we need to (just like pacman was able to do on punt and kickoff return even tho he was a jerk), and he has the potential to be the best rb ever, i would keep him, because neither brown or henry had a 100 yard game i dont think

Definitely agree with you Ghostz. I don't think we have much of a chance at getting Bush, but I'd grab him in a heartbeat.

i would definately get him, but idk if i would choose him over vy, because we shut him down in the rose bowl, and if we can do that, than they can definately do that in the nfl, but with vy u never know whats going to happen, he can beat u with a deep throw, pump fake run (which works really well in college at least) and its so dangerous because u never know what ur going to get

The reason our MLB played only 2 downs last year was because he wasn't very good in coverage. That's one of Jackson's strong points. I believe that Jackson would be a better coverage guy than Thorton (not taking anything away from Thorton, of course). Also, if we have three good coverage linebackers, we'll be able to rotate them and keep them fresh.

For people that think that Jackson is too small, there's this guy in New York, his name is....hmmmmm.....Jonathan Vilma. He's the same size as Jackson and it hasn't hurt him any. I think Jackson could very well turn out a lot like Vilma.

I don't think OT is a bad idea in the second either, though I'm a little scared of Winston. (They talk about his knee and I have flashbacks to 2004)

Well said.

I considered DB before, particularly Jason Allen before the "red flag" on the hip. I like thinking what kind of versatility that could give our secondary and defense overall. A guy that can hit, wrap, tackle turn and cover, and in particular cover fast receivers. I left out Allen and the concept cause I don't know the deal with the flag, but yeah, that's worth a 2nd round pick, too.

ya it would always help to go with a cb or s because our coverage wasnt to great last year, maybe we could use the extra cap money (if we let mcnair go) to get ty law like a lot of people were talking about in another thread, he could really help us out and put some big leadership for that position and maybe keep pacman from acting like such a punk

GLinks, not sure what you mean by "red flag" other than the fact that he got injured, but I've heard a few reports that his private workouts have gone really well and there's a definite possibility again that he'll go in round one. If he makes it to us in the 2nd, and we're not going to look at Law further, I'd draft him. Good player, great leader, then we'd have a strong DB corps.

its not just his hip, he's been injury prone. he has had a lingering shoulder injury that he has to wear a harness for. then throw the hip on top of that, i'd be weary of him.

i think that unless we can get ty law we should leave our cbs where they are, we drafted two really good ones last yera and it would be a waste of a pic this year if we dont give them a chance to grow up and become better players, so im staying with mlb or ot

A real good CB that can contend for a starting spot isn't a bad deal at all IMO. Especially if the guy can play NB or FS. Still, he would have to be very highly rated before we go that route.

I seriously doubt Jason Allen makes it out of the 1st round. His workouts have been outstanding and he might be the second S taken in the draft.

well saying that, too bad michael huff didnt come last year because he is the best in the draft, and i think better than all the prospects were last year
