View Full Version : Young Pays Visit to Titans
goTitans.com 04-13-2006, 05:39 AM SUMMARY: Texas QB Vince Young was in town yesterday and spent a large amount of time with OC Norm Chow before talking with coach Jeff Fisher and GM Floyd Reese. "I have some good feelings from them," Young said. "I really feel like they feel real good about me, too. They like my work ethic, how fast I adjust and how coachable I am and how well I am with the guys. I already know a lot of guys with the team and the respect that they already have for me, and that is important. If Tennessee picked me up, I'd get down here and get situated right afterward. I want to be here learning, trying to pick up and learn as much as I can. I know that is important." Many feel the Titans selection will be between Young and USC QB Matt Leinart who in town on Monday.

TitanKid4Life 04-13-2006, 07:45 AM he felt a good vibe being there, and they really like his work ethic and coachablility ++ for vince!
Riverman 04-13-2006, 09:07 AM Check out the Tennessean photo of him in a suit.
I'm excited about the comments regarding the coaches may now be leaning toward picking him. I know we've heard the same for Leinart, but he seems to be taking a hit now after firing his agent.
Leinart is not a BBQ guy anyway.
Gunny 04-13-2006, 09:19 AM At least he has his priorities straight - Tennessee in a suit, White House no suit.
nomoreschwartz 04-13-2006, 09:42 AM Cough, Cough, lots of smoke around Baptist Sporst Park....The FO is saying good things about all the QB's....who knows what they're planning to do...they'll probably surprise us all and pick someone out of left field.
Gunny 04-13-2006, 09:57 AM Cutler is the pick.
Ewker 04-13-2006, 10:02 AM Cutler is the pick.
I have a good feeling you are right
Riverman 04-13-2006, 10:03 AM Cough, Cough, lots of smoke around Baptist Sporst Park....
Vince said he likes the food here.....

:bricks: NO!!!!!!!
:wall: NO!!!!!
:cuss: NO!!!!!
metal957 04-13-2006, 10:33 AM I have a good feeling you are right
Sorry to tell but that feeling is wrong
Troupe4Prez 04-13-2006, 10:58 AM I would like to state first off I am Pro-Young in every which way with the third pick, but the one thing that is bothering me is how he thought the titans players respected him. Last time I checked rookie qb's had to earn their keep before they get respect. I just hope he doesn't go into training camp expecting respect instead of earning respect.
TitanKid4Life 04-13-2006, 11:02 AM Sorry to tell but that feeling is wrong
and i love to agree with u medal, vince is definately the pick and since so many of the titans showed him respect i think that would aslo influence the decision and clearly shows who the titan players want
GLinks 04-13-2006, 11:34 AM Well, they don't care who the players want, but I think they're around 55/45 Vince to Matt right now. That could change again, but it's close.
And that Cutler thing...:sad2:
Sorry Ewker. The Force is NOT strong with you on this one.
Ewker 04-13-2006, 11:42 AM never count out the Force
Gunny 04-13-2006, 11:56 AM just don't turn to the dark side.
fltitan 04-13-2006, 12:03 PM If 2 or 3 qbs still there when we pick and if Cutlers the pick we should trade down let Oakland or Jets move up still get Cutler at 4 or 7
SteveH 04-13-2006, 12:05 PM thinking of Cutler, which pick would most disappoint you guys?!?
i don't want anyone other than Leinart or Young with that number 3
Gunny 04-13-2006, 12:06 PM I am at the point where I don't care, I trust the team to make the correct selection. They know more then I do. And I will be happy with whoever we chose.
nomoreschwartz 04-13-2006, 12:11 PM thinking of Cutler, which pick would most disappoint you guys?!?

Cutler would be a disappointment, but i guess if they got him I'd have to support him. :hmm:
Vigsted 04-13-2006, 12:23 PM they'll probably surprise us all and pick someone out of left field.
Marcus Vick baby!!! :brow:
Nah, I don't know who they'll pick, and I think I'd be ok with any of them, though for some reason I do like Cutler better, even though I feel Leinart is the best at the moment. What happens down the road is anyones guess.
Soxcat 04-13-2006, 12:29 PM I hope the reason they took Vince to Swett's restaurant was for the food and not because Vince wouldn't have to try and read a menu.
Ewker 04-13-2006, 01:04 PM Lmao
fitantitans 04-13-2006, 01:33 PM but the one thing that is bothering me is how he thought the titans players respected him. .
I caught that too. Do we need a ****y QB to fit next to Pacman? First impressions go along way.
Young has a long way to go to get respect from these players. I hope he didn't mistake 'interest' for respect, but thinking back on how he did on his Wonderlick(?) test..................
TitanKid4Life 04-13-2006, 01:35 PM lol the kid of the dad that owns that resturant is a senior at my school, im gonna ask him when i see him today if he met him or anything, but the most disappointing draft pick for me would be matt leinart, after reading a column about how he doesnt know if he wants to be in the nfl or if he wants to be in movies and whatnot
Riverman 04-13-2006, 01:50 PM lol the kid of the dad that owns that resturant is a senior at my school, im gonna ask him when i see him today if he met him or anything, but the most disappointing draft pick for me would be matt leinart, after reading a column about how he doesnt know if he wants to be in the nfl or if he wants to be in movies and whatnot
Yeah no doubt. Here's the link:

Matt "Show-Biz" Leinart- I'll puke if he winds up in two-tone blue.:barf:

lol ya, he could only hurt the team with an attitude like that
bigtitan53279 04-13-2006, 02:01 PM thinking of Cutler, which pick would most disappoint you guys?!?
matt leinart
TitanKid4Life 04-13-2006, 02:07 PM thinking about haveing both of thoses guys on my team is a disappointment, and it would be for the players to because they obviously want vince young from the respect that that showed him when he came yesterday
maximus 04-13-2006, 02:12 PM just don't turn to the dark side.
The dark side of the force is a pathway to many abilities, some considered to be unnatural
fltitan 04-13-2006, 03:14 PM I agree we Gunny I dont know who they will pick but I do know Reese and Fisher are going to take whoever they believe gives us the best chance of winning. They have seen all 3 workout in similar situations so they have the information as to who they want. This is the most important draft pick Reese and Fisher have made since being with the Titans and they will take the best qb available. Their jobs will probably depend on it 2 yrs from now so lets hope we get the right guy for all of us. Bad news is no one will know for sure who the best qb is until 2 yrs down the road its just 1 big crap shoot.
fltitan 04-13-2006, 03:26 PM Anyone hear Maddens comments about Farve last night. He thinks Farve wants to be released or traded so he can be with a winner his last year. Packers have excused Farve from team work outs but I dont hear Cook saying anything about getting Farve to Packers off season program. All sounds similar to whats happened here, just coincidence I guess. Dan Patrick said today that a source very close to the Ravens told him they want McNair there soon as he released, how would they know that if they hadnt already talked about money. Its a good thing the nfl doesnt enforce tampering rules at least for the Ravens.
Vigsted 04-13-2006, 03:40 PM Isn't the difference that Favre doesn't want to work out, whereas Steve does?
I don't think Favre is looking for another team, he either stays with GB or retires, Steve on the other hand probably is.
Torch7 04-13-2006, 06:13 PM the one thing that is bothering me is how he thought the titans players respected him. Last time I checked rookie qb's had to earn their keep before they get respect. I just hope he doesn't go into training camp expecting respect instead of earning respect.
I think he was referring to the people who already knew him personally.
"I already know a lot of guys with the team and the respect that they already have for me, and that is important.
theprizdfighter 04-13-2006, 08:30 PM If we do pass up on the "Big 3" and pick someone out of left field, I hope it's Omar Jacobs in the 3rd round. Take D'Brick in with the #3.
GOFIGURETITANS 04-13-2006, 10:31 PM My money is on Cutler
TitanKid4Life 04-13-2006, 11:15 PM my money is on vince
Ewker 04-13-2006, 11:17 PM who???
TitanKid4Life 04-13-2006, 11:39 PM vine young baby
GOFIGURETITANS 04-14-2006, 12:43 AM Like I said, Cutler. All the hype is about Lienart and Young. Hush Hush about Cutler. Look Cutler did amazing things with a below average team. Vanderbilt only allows intelligent players on their team. Guys that make the grade. Just a few months ago the titans were saying they need Intelligent players. CUTLER is the one.
hickoryholla 04-14-2006, 12:48 AM i heard leinart has been hangin with paris hilton. sounds like he's going hollywood. we don't want no damn left handed pretty boy. bring in the next mcnair, in young. or the next favre, in cutler. either way the titans will be back to their winning ways.
Gunny 04-14-2006, 12:50 AM don't bag lefties. We rock.
GOFIGURETITANS 04-14-2006, 01:04 AM Cutler is the one.
GLinks 04-14-2006, 01:07 AM I would like to state first off I am Pro-Young in every which way with the third pick, but the one thing that is bothering me is how he thought the titans players respected him. I'm going to lean toward "respect for college achievements" and "excited about him as a prospect" on this one.
Even Bulluck said he would be his choice. Probably a lot of players would prefer him as the pick, and some are probably content with either one.
maximus 04-14-2006, 09:48 AM If we do pass up on the "Big 3" and pick someone out of left field, I hope it's Omar Jacobs in the 3rd round. Take D'Brick in with the #3.
#1. We dont have a 3rd
#2. Jacobs wont last that long
TitanKid4Life 04-14-2006, 10:58 AM lol^ but i think that since a lot of the titans respect him and want him as our qb, will help influence their decision to go with yong on this pick
GLinks 04-15-2006, 09:15 PM don't bag lefties. We rock.
I second that.
GLinks 04-15-2006, 09:16 PM i heard leinart has been hangin with paris hilton. sounds like he's going hollywood. we don't want no damn left handed pretty boy. bring in the next mcnair, in young. or the next favre, in cutler. either way the titans will be back to their winning ways.
I'd hang with her, too, if I wasn't married.
TitanKid4Life 04-16-2006, 12:51 AM man u would just hang with her? i already do more than that with her...
Gunny 04-16-2006, 03:11 AM paris hilton is a pig dog. Attractive - no way.
Vigsted 04-16-2006, 06:16 AM But she's rich...
TitanKid4Life 04-16-2006, 10:57 AM paris hilton is a pig dog. Attractive - no way.
how is she not hot?
Troupe4Prez 04-16-2006, 03:10 PM well its pretty much like throwing a hot dog down a hallway, doesn't really sound that appealing does it.
TitanKid4Life 04-16-2006, 03:46 PM not if u have to eat it, but if ur gonna throw it at someone that u dont like it sounds fun, but i wouldnt think its hot lol
GoTitans3801 04-16-2006, 04:31 PM not if u have to eat it, but if ur gonna throw it at someone that u dont like it sounds fun, but i wouldnt think its hot lol
No, no, that was a simile, you can guess what to, or I hope you can.
TitanKid4Life 04-16-2006, 04:45 PM it was to paris hilton
GLinks 04-16-2006, 09:41 PM man u would just hang with her? i already do more than that with her...
I guess I should have said "hang."
And the "do more than that" is TMI, my friend. TMI.
GLinks 04-16-2006, 09:43 PM paris hilton is a pig dog. Attractive - no way.
Her actions as seen through the media make her unattractive as a person. Take that away, there's nothing wrong with her looks.
Gunny 04-17-2006, 09:12 AM yes there are, she aint that good. Never thought she was before all the porn crap she did.
Riverman 04-17-2006, 09:47 AM WTF happened to this thread?
GLinks 04-17-2006, 11:04 AM It's Leinart's fault. He was the one hanging with Paris Hilton. See what a distraction he can be?
TitanKid4Life 04-17-2006, 04:52 PM well next thing u know its going to be her and leinart in one of those videos haha
