View Full Version : Try this trade senario with the Raiders
danny 04-17-2006, 05:35 PM This works if the Titans are positive that the Jets are not in the market for a QB with their pick at #4 or they have Cutler rated close to Leinart or Young. The Raiders would love a shot at either Leinart or Young.
Trade back to Oakland's pick (#7) and get Oakland's 2nd and 3rd rounders this year or this year's 2nd and next year's 1st rounder. The Titans can then pick up a QB at #7 and add some quality depth later on in the draft's later rounds or control next year's first round with two picks as well as getting an additional first day pick this year. One of those three QB's will be there at #7 and chances are, if the Jets go will either the DE or the OT, two of the QB's will still be there.
It all depends how much Reese likes any of the QB's over each other.
SEC 330 BIPOLAR 04-17-2006, 05:49 PM I think Reese leans toward Young.
What does your Magic 8-ball see then?

Oakland would have to guarantee Reese they were moving up for Leinart. With that senario, I could see it happening. It could very easily play out like that with Al Davis wanting to sell tickets keeping Leinart in Southern California.
TitanJeff 04-17-2006, 05:58 PM Except Oakland is in Northern California. ;)
Starkiller 04-17-2006, 06:04 PM ... and then Al announces that he is moving back to LA again...
Vigsted 04-17-2006, 06:05 PM Jeff, always the smart*** hey?
I think the Titans would have to like all 3 QB's equally to go for this trade, because even if NO and NYJ doen't draft QB's, you have no guarantee that Miami or Minnesota won't trade up into GB's or SF's spot to land a QB.
TitanJeff 04-17-2006, 06:13 PM Jeff, always the smart*** hey?
Always.
Starkiller 04-17-2006, 06:19 PM I'd have no problem with the Titans trading down if they like all 3 evenly and all 3 are there when we are on the clock. I would hate to move down and lose all of them, but I would think that 3 QBs won't all go between #3 and #6.

Okay Starkiller, you're Reese. How do you have the three QB's rated and what would it take you to trade out of #3 down to #7?
danny 04-18-2006, 06:52 AM Except Oakland is in Northern California. ;)
I can't see either from Jersey. It's all West Coast to me.
Soxcat 04-18-2006, 08:08 AM Not a bad idea but why would Oakland make the trade?

In love with Young or Leinart
Starkiller 04-18-2006, 09:42 AM Okay Starkiller, you're Reese. How do you have the three QB's rated and what would it take you to trade out of #3 down to #7?I have no clue what the Titans think of the 3 QBs, but I'd say Leinart and Cutler are just about even. I'm not as high about Young, personally. But I also think Cutler could very easily be there at #7.
As for what it would cost, I'd say their #1, #2, and #3 (or something like that). Maybe their #1, #3, and their #1 next year.

We'll get Bush in the first since the Cows will take Young. We'll snag Cutler in the second round. ;)
GoTitans3801 04-18-2006, 09:56 AM Good plan, now to bend reality around it...
TitanJeff 04-18-2006, 10:01 AM We can start rumors.
Bush has a chronic hamstring issue. Covered up by USC. It was why White ran the ball so much in the Rose Bowl. Did not run at Combine because he had just returned from the Orient on a two-week opium binge.
Cutler loans his 10-speed to a known purse snatcher. Pulled into a parking spot in front of an old lady at the mall. Definate character issues.

Jeff, you're supposed to make him LESS attractive to Oakland.... :ha:
Soxcat 04-18-2006, 10:14 AM There is no way to predict some of the trades we could see. There are a couple of postion players, Williams and Brick that are good enough to warrant a team moving up to get them. With 3 QBs in the mix anything can happen there as well. I still like the idea a dropping back a few spots and taking Cutler but who knows if that is a possibility.
I like GBNs scenario of us trading with Pitt to get Maroney. After watching some film on the guy I think he is the real deal. He makes moves in the hole alot like Alexander. GBN has us trading our 2nd and 4th rounder to move up to Pitts 1st to get him. Not a bad idea. We need quality more than quantity.
GLinks 04-18-2006, 11:33 AM That's for sure. I would favor doing a trade like that. One of our RBs will be moving on after this year in all likelihood.

TitanJeff 04-19-2006, 09:17 AM As hard as it probably once was to imagine, the draft show might have a higher rating than a playoff game this year.

At least the Titans will have something nationally televised this year then:ha:

2.-Max Jean-Gilles
2.-Marcus McNeill fills the right spot
3.-Charlie Whitehurst he will have to seat 1-2 seasons but i have a feeling he is going to be very good.
