Quote from Hookem Horns on Yesterday at 11:58am:
The only thing that makes me feel a little better is that it will be enjoyable watching all those VY bashers eating their crow when VY is tearing our a**es up. Of course the fact that he will be wearing a Titans uniform disgusts me.

My thoughts exactly!! The Titans now have another fan. Of course...I will always be a Texans fan but I will be cheering VY on!

You won't catch any grief from me for feeling this way cause I'm sure I'll have a hard time cheering against him.

We were at the draft party up until Vince was taken and everyone cheered when the Titans took him. I'm not sure why, but I suspect as a way to stick it to the Texans' FO.

Honestly I am about at the end of the rope for being a fan of Houston football. My life long loyalty to Houston football and my utter hatred for the Titans is putting me over the top. I don't know if I will be able to stomach watching all the old Houston fans jumping from the Texans back to the Titans and seeing all the new Titans fans popping up all over Texas. I KNOW it will be bad here in Austin. Heck, knowing how VY crazy this town is they will probably start showing the Titans instead of the Texans here. I almost want to go be a fan of the Giants (where I used to live). I can still hate the Cowboys and would care less about the Titans anymore. Or ... like I said before, someone just shoot me!

Oilers Fans To Texans Fans To Titans Fans ....

And he didn't even mention the Titans fan wearing a #27 jersey that [David Givens?] saw when he was visiting with the Texans, which prompted him to visit us and subsequently sign!

i live in Houston and followed Vince when he was in high school. they had the games in the Astrodome and would have 20,000 plus fans for his games , IN HIGH SCHOOL.

2 seperate private individuals paid for entire ad space in the Houston Chronicle to Draft Vince. one paid about $40,000 for a full page ad, the other might have gotten a discount because the business owner advertises so much, but his 2 page ad would run about $70,000.

there are restaurants here, on their marquee things like, "Bud you are forgiven"

i went to the last 2 rose bowls. this past one i saw steve mcnair, i hope the titans can hold on to him, but either way, i am elated that Vince is a Titan!!!

If a person wants to follow a player other than a team so be it. We didn't make the safe pick. We didn't make a pick to sell jerseys. It has always been said that games are won in the trenches. Well we just shored up our trenches while Y'all are replacing a former CoMvp QB, that Y'all are throwing away, with an unproven QB. Good luck in your endeavors.

Why is it that you TENNheads are so concerned with our draft. It looks like Y'all are just scared that we took care of some need areas, when Y'all are just trying to replace Eddie George and Steve McNair. It doesn't matter. Even if Lendale White and Vince Young are the 2nd coming of the titans greatest players, those great players never won a Super Bowl.

sidebar: and I bet overalls is going to say something, but I could see LA stealing the Texans away from Houston within 10 years if they keep up their trends of 1. Losing 2. In fairness to the Texans they had a real strong draft, filled a bunch of needs and should be improved.

Anyone know what side Mario is going to play on?
Considering we are not sure who is going to manning the RT spot (didn't address OL in the draft at all) and we have a second year, unproven guy at LT we might need to be concerned. Young may be seeing playing time very soon in the season.

GoT

Hopkins departure automatically improves the LT position and no way is Mawe a downgrade from Hartwig. Plenty of options for RT on the bench. Getting the G play back to standard will be critical.

We cheered, because the kid from Houston was the first QB taken....

and even though we plan on beating the Titans on Sundays...... we don't hate them like we hate the Cowboys.

and any team smart enough to Draft Vince...... without all the #1 pick/heisman curses...... deserves a big round of applause.

shame the way you guys are treating McNair though.

http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com/nfl/tenhou/OilersLogo.gif

Yeah....... ok....... I wanted Vince in Houston, and I think it's a good thing you got Vince.... good decision #1...... you need to let this be the first in a long line of good decisions you guys make(judging by the rest of your draft, I doubt it). You had Steve McNair, and you did next to nothing.

2002 you were 11-5 2003 you win the division 12-4 2004 you were 5-11, even the Texans were better than that. & if it weren't for Capers trying to get Reggie Bush, you'd be at the bottom again, @ 4-11.

We've got an excuse.......... we don't know anybetter.

You just suck......

Like I said, Vince, I think was a good move.... smart decision for the future, try stringing together a few of those smart decisions.

Really? Vince was the only good move? Oh man, wait until Dec. 10... You're going to see what White can do to you. I'm calling it, Mahelona's first big play, coming on David Carr... I actually got to watch him last season, and thought he'd go day 1, that was a steal... We added depth to both our LBs and our Safeties, two of our biggest weaknesses last season, and we got new starters in free agency... Sorry Texans, get used to losing, I'd think you'd have picked up on it by now.

Drafting for depth at your weekest positions.... man, if Houston fans were this easy to please...... you never would have gotten a franchise.

cows lecturing about "smart" draft moves - rightous

If you don't have your own folks telling you the same thing I'd be worried. I've got nothing against Tennessee, & if you really want to know many a Texans fan were rooting for you in your last...... sorry, in your SuperBowl appearance. So, I'm not trying to start anything.

But as a team, as a franchise, we've been progressively improving year after year. 2002 to 2003, we got better... 2003-2004, we got better... 2004-2005, we took a step backwards.

You on the other hand, same coaching staff, less talent. 2003-2004 you took a step back........ 2004-2005...... you took another step back.

While we've experience a "recession" you're in the middle of an infaltion driven depression. Expect another year of it..... & more, if you don't stop throwing your money away on depth in the draft.

These are the uprights he was aiming at... at least that would make sense... His aim was so flawed... (or else his missed on purpose) ... it made Mike Vandershank's kick look slightly wide right. You know, right after he missed that FG, his teammates gave him the gatorade bucket over the head. What a bunch of losers. They were happy that they were the worst team in the NFL. The year before we beat the Lions which bumped us from #2 overall to #6... but at least we played to win the game. That's what you have to do... win or lose...

You play to win the game. You don't play just to play it.

It's a Houston Chronicle picture for a Houston Chronicle article on the Houston Chronicle's website, but you project the responsibility for it onto me. Now that's misleading.

I'll bet you thought all those articles and images in the Chronicle over the last four years were "misleading" too. You know, the ones about all the Texans' losses and how much they sucked. That's a lot of articles and pictures and you ought to be used to them by now. A lot of former Texans fans are.

If you have an issue with the photo, write a letter to the editor of the Chronicle. Maybe he'll care. Moo a lot and include plenty of bull**** from your Texans Bull**** Pen.

Hey, Overalls... I can see how stressed the situation of your favorite team is making you. I think that Texans fans who don't like the Titans could jump ship, move west, and cheer for the Cards... They might actually do something this year. Perhaps, you could invite the intire Texans team to attend their training camp so that they might learn something. It's a thought... Oh, and don't you worry about Carr. He's in good hands with Vanden Bosh...
