LazyManJackson 05-01-2006, 05:22 AM He forgot to mention whose nickleback
Woolfolk
RollTide 05-01-2006, 05:37 AM I agree with the premise but our rookie safety will be playing the strong side. I think they see this kid as a possible blaine bishop type.
maximus 05-01-2006, 08:00 AM I agree with the premise but our rookie safety will be playing the strong side. I think they see this kid as a possible blaine bishop type.
Thats what I thought when we drafted him
I havent seen a list of kids we have signed as UDFAs
theprizdfighter 05-01-2006, 08:14 AM Why didn't we take Ko Simpson there? I was surprised he dropped all the way to 4th. Obviously someone liked the guy we go over him, but I don't see how..
TitanJeff 05-01-2006, 08:57 AM We drafted a kid who could play both safety positions. We just paid a ton for a FS who won't be going anywhere anytime soon and we have Vincent Fuller who should back up there in time along with the nickel.
We needed a SS. Simpson is a FS. Besides, he's 22 and only has a couple of years of experience. I think some teams saw that as a negative.
RollTide 05-01-2006, 09:08 AM We have three free safeties already. Hope, thompson and fuller. We needed a strong side guy and lowry was the best option at the time. We couldn't just sit back and hope that thompson would be enough there.
WoolfolksUncle 05-01-2006, 09:51 AM I have this gut feeling that woolfolksuncle will disagree.
Oooohhhh - Sends Chills Up the Spine....
Ha ha ha... You think you know me huh... maybe a little. No it is not that I disagree so much. It is just the roles are reversed a little and no one seems to take note to it. Hill had off season surgery and Andre is completely healthy, which validates what I whole heartedly believe will be an epic battle for the corner spot opposite Pacman in mini camp and camp....Stand By to Stand By..... WU
Jwill1919 05-01-2006, 09:57 AM we don't seem to have much depth on the Corners, at least not with Pacman's problems and the other guys besides Hill just straight sucking. please Woolfolk show us something.
Riverman 05-01-2006, 10:46 AM I haven't heard about Hill's injury. What's up?
WoolfolksUncle 05-01-2006, 12:53 PM I haven't heard about Hill's injury. What's up?
He got injured in the last game vs Jags.... Had off season surgery...Here is a clip from USA Today:
Titans starting CB Reynaldo Hill underwent surgery on his groin Monday. The injury isn't expected to keep him out of April workouts. Hill had a surprising rookie season after being selected in the seventh round, outplaying Adam "PacMan" Jones for much of the year. 2/28/2006
Remember this came from USA Today. None of the above is my quote...
thnom 05-01-2006, 01:04 PM I think our depth chart looks like so:
QB: Volek, Mauck, Young
RB: Chris Brown, LenDale White, Travis Henry, Damien Nash, Quinton Ganther
FB: Troy Fleming
WR: David Givens, Brandon Jones, Tyrone Calico, Jonathan Orr
WR: Drew Bennett, Courtney Roby, Roydell Williams
TE: Ben Troupe, Erron Kinney, Bo Scaife
LT: Michael Roos, Daniel Loper
LG: Zach Pillar, Jacob Bell
C: Kevin Mawae, Eugene Amano
RG: Benji Olson, David Stewart
RT: David Stewart, Daniel Loper
DE: Kyle Vanden Bosch, Bo Schobel
DT: Randy Starks, Jesse Mahelona
DT: Albert Haynesworth, Rien Long
DE: Antwan Odom, Travis LaBoy
LB: David Thornton, Peter Sirmon, Spencer Toone
MLB: Stephen Tulloch, Peter Sirmon, Robert Reynolds
LB: Keith Bulluck, Nande Terna, Spencer Toone
CB: Reynaldo Hill, Andre Woolfolk, Michael Waddell
CB: Pacman Jones, Rich Gardner, Michael Waddell
SS: Chris Hope, Calvin Lowry
FS: Lamont Thompson, Vince Fuller, Cortland Finnegan
There is some odd men out, namely at RB. Does Gregg Guenther stay on the roster? Can any UDFA we bring in beat out the players we have in?
Titans2008 05-01-2006, 01:10 PM There's no way that Finnegan is going to play safety at 5-9 175. I also think you have the safeties slotted backwards probably. Jesse will push for a starting slot.
CanadaTitan 05-01-2006, 06:06 PM I think our depth chart looks like:
QB: Volek, Mauck, Young
RB: Chris Brown, LenDale White, Travis Henry

LB: David Thornton, Spencer Toone
MLB:Peter Sirmon, Stephen Tulloch, Robert Reynolds
LB: Keith Bulluck, Nande Terna
CB: Reynaldo Hill, Andre Woolfolk, Richie Gardner
CB: Pacman Jones, Michael Waddell , Cortland Finnegan
SS: Lamont Thompson, Calvin Lowry
FS: Chris Hope, Vince Fuller
Nickey, Clauss, McNair, Guenther, Nash, Payton are all gone unless someone steps up
wplatham 05-01-2006, 10:59 PM I think we lose Brown or Henry. Too much money tied up in RB. Payton will stay on the roster and Nash will be on practice squad, unless he has some kind of amazing camp. I like Nash but he really hasn't had a chance to show anything. Either Bell or Stewart will be RT. I'm beginning to think that Stewart and Loper are going to be good, seeing how little we've spent on O-Line this offseason. I still think Steve will be here, so Mauck will be gone. We'll keep a rookie QB on practice squad to develop as Young's future back-up. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention.......White will be starting by week 8 at the latest.
I can't wait for football season!
TitanKid4Life 05-01-2006, 11:03 PM I think our depth chart looks like:
QB: Volek, Mauck, Young
i would think that young will be in front of mauck
Broken Record 05-01-2006, 11:44 PM I think we lose Brown or Henry. Too much money tied up in RB. Payton will stay on the roster and Nash will be on practice squad, unless he has some kind of amazing camp.
Brown has amazed us at times and Henry is a former Pro Bowler. Brown is finishing out his rookie contract and Henry is playing for the vet minimum. We don't have much invested in either and they both are way more proven than Nash and Payton (neither of which will ever be a starter in the league). I think we'll have one of the best backfields at the cheapest price in 2006.
adamwinn51 05-02-2006, 01:43 AM Yes, Brown and Henry are cheap and we would be fools to let go of either. I think Peyton is a goner.
Gunny 05-02-2006, 02:15 AM We have three free safeties already. Hope, thompson and fuller. We needed a strong side guy and lowry was the best option at the time. We couldn't just sit back and hope that thompson would be enough there.
I think Thompson is normally a Strong Safety.
Titans2008 05-02-2006, 02:48 AM Nah, he played FS, but there is considerable talk about him playing SS. I don't see who else on our roster could start at SS but him and the rookie, so yea...
Ideally the roster would look like this...for this year.
QB: McNair, Volek, Young
RB: Brown, 2-a White, 2-b Henry
FB: Fleming
WR: Givens, Calico, Jones, Orr
WR: Bennett, Roby, Williams
TE: Troupe, Kinney, Scaife
LT: Roos, Loper
LG: Pillar, Amano
C: Mawae, Amano
RG: Olson, Stewart
RT: Bell, Stewart (or free agent after june 1)
DE: Vanden Bosch, Schobel
DT: Starks, Clauss, Mahelona
DT: Haynesworth, Long
DE: LaBoy, Odom
LB: Thornton, Sirmon, (Toone)
MLB: Tulloch, Reynolds
LB: Bulluck, Sirmon, Nande
CB: Hill, Woolfolk, Waddell
CB: Jones, (Gardner), Lowry, Finnegan
SS: Thompson, Nickey, Hope
FS: Hope, Fuller, Lowry
P Hentrich
K Bironas (with some free agent competition...go get Connor Hughes)
KR Finnegan, Roby
PR Finnegan
I think Toone or Nande ends up on the practice squad or Sirmon gets cut (IF Tulloch can handle MLB AND Nande or Toone can be effective backups on the outside). I think Gardner is the odd man out unless they tap Nickey...but Lowry's a better FS than a SS (as is Finnegan) and could end up as a backup CB and extra zone S. I am hoping McNair gets worked out and stays.
I suspect we may see Kerry Collins instead of McNair and Sirmon starting at MLB. We'll see how Tulloch picks up the D and if McNair budges on his contract desires.
Gut
Gunny 05-02-2006, 04:43 AM I thought Thompson was really a SS and we moved him to FS because of Tank being at SS
TitanJeff 05-02-2006, 08:32 AM I don't know why the Titans would keep Sirmon at this point though I would love to see him make the transition to MLB. I think Rob Reynolds was starting to impress the coaches late in the season and may get a good look here.
I don't think Nickey or Gardner will be on the final 53.
GoTitans3801 05-02-2006, 10:53 AM Keep in mind, we'll probably PUP Brandon Jones, so we'll have an extra roster spot. He wouldn't be back until the end of the season, there's no reason not to PUP him, at least that I can think of.

I agree with Nickey and Gardner
Right now we pretty much have to keep Sirmon. We addressed the LB position but not a true MLB. Can Reynolds be the one to hold it down? I don't think a rookie can step in yet.
Still wish we had signed Greisen :(
theprizdfighter 05-02-2006, 11:10 AM I don't think a rookie can step in yet. :(
Look at Seattle's LB, Lofa Tatupu.
LazyManJackson 05-02-2006, 12:10 PM Exactly
Starkiller 05-02-2006, 12:19 PM Keep in mind, we'll probably PUP Brandon Jones, so we'll have an extra roster spot. He wouldn't be back until the end of the season, there's no reason not to PUP him, at least that I can think of.Waddell will get PUPed, too...
TitanKid4Life 05-02-2006, 01:28 PM what does pup mean
Starkiller 05-02-2006, 01:43 PM Placed on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) List.
Gunny 05-02-2006, 08:17 PM Waddell being injured may save Gardner.
theprizdfighter 05-03-2006, 08:31 AM Or might make a spot for Randall
Gunny 05-03-2006, 08:35 AM Randall is a Safety maybe a Linebacker...or Quarterback, might even play OL is we ask. Anyway he isn't a cornerback.
LazyManJackson 05-03-2006, 02:21 PM Randall's a special teamer at best, backup player second
