View Full Version : Titans vs. Broncos - 1st half thoughts
Broken Record 08-19-2006, 10:41 PM Haynesworth - If we have to play without you for any time at all this year, we're in a world of hurt.
Starks - I guess you beat women because you can't beat anyone else?
Thornton - Might be the bright spot of the D this year. Looks like a solid pickup. Made one boneheaded penalty, but a nice half of play.
Volek - You aren't going to win or lose any games for us this year. You'll do fine, but you're simply not a difference maker.
Shanahan - This is PRESEASON. Call off the dogs already.
The Clock - I'm sure glad you were there to stop the Broncos O at halftime, because our defense sure couldn't do it.
Henry - Your legs might not have gotten alot of yards, but your arm deserves at least 15. If that Bronco hadn't grabbed your facemask (the one you were stiff arming to the ground)... would've been a great run.
Odom - Hope your knee is ok. We're going to need you.

Any coach will tell you, "you never take your foot off the gas. No matter the situation."

Oh they'll slow it down for sure. It was 28-3 at the half. If it ends up 56-6 I'll eat my hat... and I've got a really nice hat.
RollTide 08-19-2006, 11:16 PM I guess runing a dive play on 4th and 6 is basically calling off the dogs.

Nope, that's just stupid :))

Make sure Fisher gets this memo - lol
Broken Record 08-19-2006, 11:58 PM First Half 28-3 + Second Half 7-7 = Calling off the dogs. So here's an idea, let's talk about 7 of the other points I made instead of this one ancillary thing.

Or, Shanahan sending them into the game.
Broken Record 08-20-2006, 12:04 AM Titans had their fair share of dogs taking up field space as well... seriously, do y'all just want to argue about that miniscule point? It was the least important of the bunch.
Yvette 08-20-2006, 12:12 AM Volek - You aren't going to win or lose any games for us this year. You'll do fine, but you're simply not a difference maker.
Thank you. Those are the words I've been looking for.
moose4now 08-20-2006, 12:18 AM I'm just wondering if Fish played VY as much as he did tonight to speed up the maturation process by getting him as many reps as possible under game conditions?
And, when might be the earliest we would see Vince in the regular season?
Broken Record 08-20-2006, 12:19 AM Thank you. Those are the words I've been looking for.
Thanks Yvette. I'm afraid they are true. Billy is a good player. He's solid, but nothing more.

vnomus2 08-20-2006, 12:24 AM We are really going to have to watch for the bootleg after tonight everybody is going to be running it

not Mike Vick. He never breaks the pocket. :whoop:
vnomus2 08-20-2006, 12:28 AM Its obviously going to take Vince at least a year maybe two to get up to speed his athletic ability won't get him by in the NFL like it did in college

No one can predict injuries, etc., but I don't expect to see Vince starting this year. I bet we see him very early in the regular season in specific situations, though.
vnomus2 08-20-2006, 12:45 AM Vince doesn't have what it takes yet to be a starting QB in the league. I am very confident in Billy However. It all depends on how the OL performs.
adamwinn51 08-20-2006, 03:01 AM That was just sh ! tty sh ! tty sh ! tty sh ! tty. It was almost commical we were so bad. Our defense is in a world of hurt. I am glad I didn't pony up for the sunday ticket this year because I have a bad feeling about this team. BUT . . . while the present looks sh ! tty, the future I think will be bright.
GoTitans3801 08-20-2006, 09:42 AM Fisher better just have them running monday. Screw football, you guys run for that crap. Receivers can catch balls and work on their hands all day, and the D can take the last hour off to work on tackling, but other than that, running, all running. That was not acceptable.
Gunny 08-20-2006, 10:21 AM one week we are making noise

ncaalover12 08-20-2006, 11:30 AM it was so bad I coulda sworn I kept seeing Hope's *** all over the screen..

Yeah, Denver has a Plummer, but we've got the Plumber.

A few things
1) Denver is a lot better team than N.O.
2) We obviously don't know how to defend the bootleg
3) Denver is not only a good team, but even better at home...That's a hard
place to play
4)Thank God it's preseason.
5) At this point, Cutler is way ahead of Vince
6) In the long haul, Vince will be better than Cutler
7) I may not live long enough to see that:))
8) Thank God it's preseason
9) I hope Albert can stay healthy...It's always different when he's in there
10) Thank God it's preseason
11) I'm just writing all of this to try to ease the pain inflicted upon me by
Denver
12) Thank God it's preseason
13) When you know it's coming, but you still can't stop it, your D is in trouble
And most of All
14) Thank God it's preseason (And if you want to...You can thank God
you're a country boy )
