Just read an article on www.titansonline.com that stated that the Titans License plate is the second most sold plate in the state of Tennessee behind that pesky Friends of the Smokey Mountains plate (we'll catch ya)...

The plate has generated just over a million dollars in revenue for the charities the Tennessee Titans Foundation supports.

I never thought in a million years (ha) that the plate would generate so much revenue and help so many charities.

Thanks again to David Dumont. The License Plate was his baby, he got the whole thing started. Thanks to our very own TitanJeff, for those of you that don't know, Jeff designed the plate. It took a lot of people a lot of time and a lot of years to get that thing on streets, I still smile when I see one on a vehicle.

Diehard Dave is King!!!

The both of you, and others, worked over constant hurdles to finally make it happen.
But don't forget to thank those of us that pay the money to keep them on our vehicles!!

Go Tennessee>>>>>>>>

The Titans would like to thank everyone that signed up early, enabling the "FanTag" project to cross the goal line. The Titans would like to extend a special debt of gratitude to Dave Dumont and Tricia Lackey for their continuous support of this project. They were the early catalysts for the Titans plate and remained involved in the project until the funds and names were turned over to the State of Tennessee on May 2. The plate was designed by Jeff Fuqua (Fuqua Design) of Franklin.

Hoffa - of course none of it would have been possible without the fans who continue to fork over the extra moola every year to dress up their vehicle with an awesome looking Titans tag!

At first, the State required us to obtain 5,000 signatures on a petition, we did that. Then the State said "OK, now get those 5,000 people to pay you $35.00 each to make sure they're serious about obtaining a plate if they become available" THAT was not fun. Contacting all of those people who signed the petition and ask them for 35 bucks for something that we couldn't promise them. It took countless hours of time sending letters out to fans hoping they would take a chance and send a check. Needless to say, it also took months of hard work, but if it weren't for those 5,000 fans that kept the faith, we wouldn't be boasting about a million bucks being raised today.

Every Titans plate I see with a lower number makes me want to scream out the window "Thank you!" because I know they were one of the core group that made the whole thing possible.

That was a plate holder, a license plate has numbers on it.

Titans license plates are very cool... but there is nothing crazier than picking this out on the freeway. :ha: I have true stories of aggressive/rude drivers backing off once they get a glimpse of these tags. Never underestimate the power of a stigma. :lol3:

not talking about a plate holder..it is a license plate that goes on the front of the car. True there were no #'s on it. Every season ticket holder got one with their tickets one yr then 2 yrs later I got another one

Have you looked into personalizing "Bipolar" on a Titans plate. You might have to pay double (for the personalization and the specialty plate fee) but that would be nice.

I know Ewker, I'm just having fun. It was a paper plate and didn't last long.
Like the plastic plate holder we got this year.
They got to save money to pay all those QB's.

yes. there is a 5 letter maximum plus standard fees plus the additional fees. It's alot. I might get a standard one for the wifey, (someday) but I'm already paying a premium for what I have. I do think we might get a plate like that eventually, but she burns enough money on her own. It's bad enough I have to blow through fifty bucks in gas 10 times a year in order to make a season's worth of games. (varies with price per gallon... 260 miles, 18-20 mpg = $$$)

OT:
I did see a list while back... 50 things a man should never do or have past the age of 30. (something like that) Personalized license tag is one of them. I don't care. I love that plate. I still laugh when I look at it. If the day ever comes and I no longer think it is funny... then I suppose I may have to retire it. I doubt that will happen.

Good that you can laugh at it BP. If the day comes when you can't, then you got more to worry about.

The Baltimore Ravens probably make these for us in prison, it's all good.
