It appears goTitans.com, along with a number of other sites hosted by Fuse9, have been hacked. I have no information right now on the problem except that a number of their clients are having the same problem.

I have no idea of the damage though it appears isolated to just the index pages of the main site and forum. Members may be able to access parts of the forum.

I'll keep everyone posted when I know more.

I take it everyone else is seeing this when you click frontpage button or the gotitans.com link? the above is just a screen shot. It freaked me out when I saw it. I can't imagine why anyone would hack a forum.

I don't know much about these things but I'm guessing it is a program designed to find anything called "index" and alter it.

Probably. Can you just FTP your index pages to fix or does it run deeper than than that.

Apparently, as soon as someone fixes their index page, it gets hacked again.

Here's a quick update for anyone who can even access this right now...

The host is now in the process of restoring everything. The FBI is investigating things as well. They've given me no timetable to have goTitans.com fully restored.

From what I understand, we'll lose all articles and posts from midnight Saturday to present which isn't nearly the loss we took last time the site was hacked. Live and learn. ;)

I managed to find a link in. You can't come in through the front door, that much is for sure.

Right. If you link directly to one area of the forum or to view only the new messages, you can get in.

Thing is, all new posts will likely be lost when the forum is restored.

Well, it seems that several other sites were affected as well. It wasn't an isolated incident. These Script kiddies usually find some vulnerability on a server, which allows them to run a script that modifies index files. It's a common practice.

Jeff - isn't this the second time the site has a similar problem? Did it happen with the same web host?

I think the forum has been moved to baltimore along with everyting else.

This was undoubtedly a result of Kerry Collins fans wanting to erase criticism of their boy on this board!

I know of a few other sites that were hacked during this time frame... including mine. They indeed altered the index file to only say "Hacked by Bela" with a Turkey GIF(the country, not the bird) and kindly left a link to their site (Which is in a form of Turkish... or whatever language they speak in Turkey). They also screwed with my database, so now I must hunt for the problem and most likely clear at least that part of my DB. These idiots just go around defacing stuff for the fun of it. Most are probably pot-heads with nothing else better to do. Freakin' makes me MAD! :grrr:

Well I'm just glad it wasn't hacked as badly unlike one of my favourite sites, which lost everything and had to start from scratch all over again, happened quite recently actually.

This is the first time I've been able to get on the site.

I've never heard of the other Titan MB's being hacked, but gotitans has been more than once. Coincidence?

I have most everything back to normal and managed to do it without losing anything.

This was a major mess and I hope the server host has upped the security to stop these losers from doing this kind of thing ever again.

Ditto. I went to some of my secondary Titans forums, but they can't feed the GT.com addiction. Kind of reminded me of when I quit dipping skoal and tried that herbal snuff.

The family was cut off from each other for a while.

I went into withdrawal there for a second, I actually visited the gotitansgo forums. Man that was horrible. Almost as bad as watching that dolt rap video...

Many thanks to all of you who took the time to check in and offer encouragement during the down time. Though it was only a couple of days, it felt much longer.
