And if so then how? maximus 09-09-2006, 11:26 AM With Collins expected to start and Vince at #2 will he be used? And if so then how? Various situations where his arm and leg could be lethal...I am leaning toward the side where Vince might play the entire second half I could see a play where Collins is QB and Vince lines up as a WR(fly route) but that would leave our prized draft pick in harms way DynamoSupremo 09-09-2006, 11:37 AM red zone. rcarie 09-09-2006, 11:58 AM He'll be lucky to see anything, especially if Collins is playing descent. I would honestly be surprised if he got more that a series. If that. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't even play. Childress79 09-09-2006, 12:14 PM I could see a play where Collins is QB and Vince lines up as a WR(fly route) but that would leave our prized draft pick in harms way Expect to see a trick play where KFC pass to VY & then he passes it to another WR or TE. Take that to the Bank:grrhee: Crash Override 09-09-2006, 12:16 PM I highly doubt Vince plays the whole second half. It's not the preseason, where you do that. He will play if: 1) we are getting blown out. 2) we are blowing them out. titanfan53 09-09-2006, 01:14 PM i think he will play mid-way 2nd quarter and finish the game. thats what i say...if not then he may be involved with some kind of trick play....hopefully he does get in though.. rcarie 09-09-2006, 01:18 PM Second quarter and finish the game??? I want some of what your smoking! TitanKid4Life 09-09-2006, 01:31 PM lol, well anythings possible, but he will most likely play in the red zone rcarie 09-09-2006, 01:37 PM Trust me, I'd love to see them hand the team over and let him learn the hard way but that isn't going to happen unless we start losing games. He may get in for a few snaps but not if the game is close and Collins is performing to their expectations. I'm as excited as anyone but if we happen to start winning, and that's a big "IF", I wouldn't expect to see much of Vince. Slackmaster 09-09-2006, 01:56 PM He will be forced to play most of the game after KC gets taken out for the season, and collects his guaranteed salary. PhiSlammaJamma 09-09-2006, 02:12 PM What, he's not the starter? ;) TitanKid4Life 09-09-2006, 04:52 PM i cant wait to see vince starting in a few weeks Laserjock 09-09-2006, 05:01 PM Sparingly I hope....otherwise it means we ain't getting it done with Collins...and I do not want to start hearing all the Collins/Volek crap if it doesn't go well in the first game. moose4now 09-09-2006, 05:18 PM i cant wait to see vince starting in a few weeks Something tells me you're not alone. :brow: LazyManJackson 09-09-2006, 05:28 PM Well...after the bye, perhaps he can get a few snaps ala trick plays... cdy_hitt 09-09-2006, 05:42 PM How would he be used in trick plays? SEC 330 BIPOLAR 09-09-2006, 05:56 PM rcarie is right. Unless we have some kind of lead that is big, we won't see Vince at all. This is a game the coaches are going to try to win... I know that sounds silly, but putting Young in a tight game is dumb. If we are getting blown out Vince could play most of the fourth quarter. I'm hoping Collins is better than that. My expectations for Collins are not high. Check this out... I could see Young winning the game somehow... Remember the playoff game vs. the Pats in the snow and cold? I Could see them sticking Vince in there in the final minute for a TD that wins the game... That's really out there. I don't really buy that myself but it almost makes sense. I do expect to see Young get work in games where we have a signifigant deficit. a.k.a trash time. Volek got work like that against Minnesota in 2001 if I recall correctly. The Vikings really whooped us that day. In my mind they are trying to get Young in the game where their protocol for it dictates. It is important to Fisher to get Young the spot work. Afterall, Fisher is putting his future as a coach for the Titans in this "young" (<-- RollTide, that's a pun  ) man's hands. He will play it very cool. All things considered, in my mind, and in rcarie's mind... It doesn't look like Young is going to do much of anything. He might take a snap for a -2 yard rush. It's a design keeper play in a bunch formation, often referred to as "qb kneel". :winker: Ewker 09-09-2006, 05:58 PM I hope he isn't used at all. I want Collins to stink it up by himself KamikaZ 09-09-2006, 06:07 PM I hope he isn't used at all. I want Collins to stink it up by himself Are you ever happy E? :ha: Anyway, I wouldn't expect more than a series or two; maybe a red-zone appearance. He ain't ready for a whole half. SEC 330 BIPOLAR 09-09-2006, 06:08 PM I hope he isn't used at all. I want Collins to stink it up by himself What kind of fan are you? Why do you want him to stink? So we lose bad and Young gets to start that much sooner? Volek is gone man. Get over it. Don't wish defeat on your own team. I'd be shocked if I saw you in an actual Titans jersey tomorrow morning. You still my boy. Even if you do look like Howard Dean. ;) moose4now 09-09-2006, 07:20 PM I hope he isn't used at all. I want Collins to stink it up by himself And, how is that going to help us, as a team, win football games? bigtitan53279 09-09-2006, 07:34 PM Are you ever happy E? :ha: only when volek gets his way. bigtitan53279 09-09-2006, 07:34 PM And, how is that going to help us, as a team, win football games? winning football games doesnt matter. what matters is that ewker was right, and everyone else is wrong. avvie 09-09-2006, 08:32 PM I think VY will take over when Collins get flushed out, crosses the Titans sidelines and Volek yanks his helmet off and punches him in the mouth. Crash Override 09-09-2006, 08:35 PM I highly doubt Vince plays the whole second half. It's not the preseason, where you do that. He will play if: 1) we are getting blown out. 2) we are blowing them out. Great post man, you know your stuff. Crash Override 09-09-2006, 08:36 PM i think he will play mid-way 2nd quarter and finish the game. thats what i say...if not then he may be involved with some kind of trick play....hopefully he does get in though.. I have two questions for you. 1) Have you ever been to www.gotitans.com? 2) Have you ever been to www.gotitans.com, on weed? tntitan89 09-09-2006, 11:10 PM If they are planning to use VY in a way that builds his confidence, I could see them putting him in after a turnover giving the offense a short field. I don't know if they would swap QBs in the red zone in the middle of a drive. I suspect that they have specific scenarios that would need to materialize to get VY in the game. DynamoSupremo 09-09-2006, 11:49 PM I don't know if they will necessarily switch QBs. They could have both QBs in the backfield in the shotgun next to each other, so you don't know who is going to get the snap. My guess is the first time we see VY on the field is as a decoy. As an aside, I wonder if Pacman will line up on the offense again this year. I always thought those packages showed promise in an otherwise very unpromising offense last year. bigtitan53279 09-09-2006, 11:58 PM I have two questions for you. 1) Have you ever been to www.gotitans.com? 2) Have you ever been to www.gotitans.com, on weed? :lol2: what a great movie. http://jon.happyjoyfun.net/pics_fl/halfbaked/halfbaked4.jpg Crash Override 09-10-2006, 12:44 AM Lmfao, lmfao, great pic dude. yeah man half baked was awesome. Big TT 09-10-2006, 06:29 AM A lot of people think VY will be used in red zone but I don't know, I could see him being inserted in more of a 2 min. type situation. Think about it, it would let him operate in a shotgun type O, more of what he is used to, the D would already be playing more of a prevent style to stop the long gainer and it would give him more of field to work with also making the D play it a little straighter. wplatham 09-10-2006, 09:20 AM Well, I played this out on Madden yesterday. I brought Young in for 1st down at the five. He fakes the handoff, rolls left, and everyone's covered so he runs it in himself. Now that wouldn't be a bad first career play, would it? I do think they'll use him in goal line situations, since it'll be so hard to defend run, pass, and bootleg. Ewker 09-10-2006, 05:46 PM winning football games doesnt matter. what matters is that ewker was right, and everyone else is wrong. I was more right about Collins that any of you guys. Thank the Jets for even have a worse player in the field goal kicker. This game could have been a lot worse than the score indicated. I will say Collins got a bad rap on the ball thrown to the end zone. No way that was intentional grounding. Also the ball lost by the TE that turned into a interception wasn't Collins fault. |
