View Full Version : Somebody tell me what the heck is going on...
Laserjock 09-12-2006, 06:42 AM Why do we constantly have RBs come up with "turf toe type issues", as Fisher put it????
Do we have a shoe problem, taping the shoes too tight, our field.....what the heck is the deal!!!!???
Broken Record 09-12-2006, 07:37 AM Personally, I blame it on Schwartz.
Gunny 09-12-2006, 07:53 AM :ha:
Riverman 09-12-2006, 09:10 AM We've had footwear issues for 6 years. titans looked in to it 3 years ago- changing shoes, styles etc and I think our strength and conditioning coach said we're OK with what we've got.
Vigsted 09-12-2006, 09:18 AM I'd be surprised if they're not using the same kind of shoes as the majority of NFL teams. A players choice of shoes is after all individual.
Riverman 09-12-2006, 09:38 AM This issue came up when we had Kearse, Troupe with broken 5th MTP's, several high ankle sprains (woolfolk some others), EG's toe, brown's ankle. It is an individual choice but the training staff needs to be sufficiently in the know to make good recs and advice for the players.
I was just glad we looked into it.
Ewker 09-12-2006, 09:46 AM There was a comment that R. Smith looked to be in better shape when he strolled back into BSP than when he played here. I know he pulled a hammy in the game but what did the Texans do to get him in better shape than when he played here
Vigsted 09-12-2006, 09:52 AM He played DE in their 3-4 system so they probably asked him to drop a few pounds compared to our DT's ideal weight.
zackmann 09-12-2006, 03:12 PM who currently has turf toe?
Vigsted 09-12-2006, 03:28 PM Henry and Brown
zackmann 09-12-2006, 03:38 PM ^thanks...
i must have missed that post or news report...
all these turf toes is ridiculous...is it our field or practice field?
LenDale, start your engines...
Sledge 09-12-2006, 03:55 PM who currently has turf toe?
Schwartz
skitch 09-12-2006, 04:58 PM It's all Collins fault.
If Volek would have started, there would be no turf toe.:grrhee:
Chris Brown played a game and comes up lame - STOP THE PRESSES!
Vigsted 09-13-2006, 10:40 AM Chris Brown played a game and comes up lame - STOP THE PRESSES!
And so did Henry for half the amount of work that Brown did :ha:
And White is injuried without even playing a game yet... FIRE THE RB COACH!! :brow:
Gunny 09-13-2006, 10:50 AM S & C Coach more like it.
TH was available at the end of the game, more than can be said for CB - at least according to Fisher.
Blkwallstreet9 09-13-2006, 07:32 PM ..........
Sukrillux 09-13-2006, 07:52 PM Eddie George would have played through it. He played with a dislocated shoulder once. I guess we won't see Brown Sunday. Henry may have to play injured... Isn't LenDale's ankle hurt or something? The reason he didn't play in the Jets game was ankle or back injury.... The Titans haven't even shown flashes of a dominating run game and we already have 3 RB injuries! What is going on here?!?
Crash Override 09-13-2006, 11:50 PM Who thinks about that kind of thing?
moose4now 09-14-2006, 12:40 AM It's all Collins fault.

Priceless. :ha:

Fisher must have hit his head one too many times, because Henry didn't take over any of Browns running in the game, as I've already pointed out to you before. After Browns last run in the game (a 6 yard gain with 8 minutes remaining) Henry had a 1 yard TD run and a 2 yard pass from Collins.
Of course, if Brown really was out for the last 8 minutes, it probably says something about how the coaches feel about Henry that we didn't try a single run in that period (save the TD run).
Laserjock 09-14-2006, 05:57 AM Or it says something about the coaches faith in CB to be able to handle blocking...

Possibly. Of course you're not arguing that we keep a runningback with lesser production, simply because he's a better pass blocker, are you?

did you hear Fishers post game interview?
I stated what he said, yes your NFL pbp says Brown was in for the first play of the final drive, Fisher said he was tired at the end of the game and was not available because of that. Possibly CB catches the ball that Scaife butchered on 4th and game. Who the heck knows, but I know what Fisher said.
Vigsted 09-14-2006, 07:14 AM Who the heck knows, but I know what Fisher said.
Yeah, but I think you're putting too much into Brown "being tired". Of course he's tired at the end of the game, everybody starting is (or should be!!). I just don't believe that Brown was so tired he couldn't have carried the ball another 2-3 times.
smili 09-14-2006, 10:13 PM The Titans haven't even shown flashes of a dominating run game and we already have 3 RB injuries! What is going on here?!?
I think every one of our RB includinng FB Hall are injured in one way or another. Maybe we'll go shotgun with 4WR sets the whole game.
flamehead2 09-15-2006, 12:14 AM you know how in the game "SCRABBLE" you can dump all 7 tiles back in the bag and pull out 7 new ones........
