SUMMARY: Despite the Titans wanting to be a run-based offense, RBs are currently just averaging 2.9 yards per carry. The Titans currently rank 28th in the league in rushing. Chris Brown and Travis Henry have been dealing with toe issues and rookie LenDale White hasn't forced his way onto the field. "We just need to keep getting more consistent," G Benji Olson said. " … Keep working and hopefully things will start opening up and we'll start breaking some big runs." Coach Jeff Fisher said the first half run success at Miami, where Henry took 14 carries 53 yards, led to adjustments that made the Titans turn elsewhere. So far this season, the Titans have run just 15 times in the fourth quarter.

Why do we have to constantly be reminded of the negatives? Jeff, get rid of his article. Oh, and the remark on White is a low blow. Coaches don't want him in there, it's so obvious. They left Henry, nursing a bad toe, in the second half despite is less than effective runs...

Or maybe he just doesn't know all of the blocking schemes and his responsibilities? Considering we have to throw a lot because we're always behind, he needs to know his pass protection scheme.

These are summaries of articles which are published each day. I don't make up the topics. As long as times are tough, I expect this is what we'll be seeing a lot of until things get better.

Are you saying I shouldn't post this kind of negative content? Wouldn't it be easier if you just ignored thread titles that you don't want to read instead?

I can't believe there are 4 teams worse then us.

2.9 yards per carry. What else do you need to change the O-Line Fish?

Prior to losing S Alexander to injury he was only averaging 2.9ypc ,the seahawks running game has struggled. They lost a premiere when Steve Hutchinson went to the Vikings & they're still trying to fill the hole.

We have a long way to go in upgrading our OL if we're to start running again

Even though White ran Chow's offense in college, I'm sure it has changed quite a bit...especially in the protections. And considering Fisher mentioned Henry's good job at pass protection AND the fact that we can't run and have to throw....this is the logical conclusion!

TALENT???

What changes do you propose...move Bell to LG and Stewart to RT?

I think we need to draft a OG or 2 early on in the draft (or find us a Stev Hutchinson in free agency)!

yeah, actually i would like that. gets bell back to his natural position and stewart played very well against the chargers.

Clearly what we have isn't working, change may work, it may not but may as well try instead of accepting 2.8 yards per carry.

We do need to draft O-Linemen high up next year.

As long as Pillar and Olsen are playing we aren't going to be able to run. I agree we should move Bell to guard and put Stewart at tackle and let him get experience, maybe play Loper at guard too. LenDale is a year away but with VY at QB he will have a big year in 07. We never hear any thing critical about Munch here but the OL is not performing and he has to be responisble for some poor play. We must imptove our OL with the draft or free agency to be able to win and that can't happen until next year.

The fact is we don't know what Bell and Amano could do if allowed to play for a longer strecth, so we may already have what we need or we may have to draft somebody.

Personally I'm still baffled that we didn't go after one of the many good O-line prospects in the last draft.

bell played a lot better than piller had the year before when he replaced him his rookie year.

If only everyone thought that way about Kerry Collins.

well at least we stressed the run game in the off season, think how bad we would be at running the rock if we didnt....

want production, put Lendale White in, consistently, not just for one carry at the end of the quarter

You can't just plug in new guys, or move them around, and have instant O-line improvement.

A good O-line has to gel together over time, learn each other and eventually become a synchronotic precise unit.

White may not be playing so much now because it's been reported he needs to improve his work ethic.

Perhaps we should go yank another over-the-hill QB off his farm and give a jersey. It seems like it has worked so far...

We should draft Joe Thomas or Sam Baker, great OT. But we do need to draft OGs to replace the ones we got now.

im just not seeing why we need tackles so badly. roos has just man handled two of the better pass rushers in the league. bell should be playing his NATURAL position in guard so stewart can play RT. stewart played pretty damn well against the chargers.

Worked for the Patriots over a couple of years, so why not?

I'm still baffled why Reese felt it more important to do things like drafting 3rd string TE's than go get us some OG's or OT's to develop. He waited 3 years too long before getting an OT. And now our stout OG's are just about done.

UGH!

It'd be nice revisionist thinking to say that, but I don't think that's true. Bell had a lot of problems in pass protection early on and there were a lot of times we needed to slide our C his way to help out rather than making adjustments based on the front.

I'd say the drop off between Pillar and Bell was not as much as I expected it to be, but Bell didn't outplay him.

More importantly, can Bell outplay him now?

It's worth a shot IF Stewart can handle RT.

I want to see LenDale and Vince start their first game together....that would be nice.
But I have a feeling Vince will start first, and LenDale will get some starts later in the season

I wouldn't be suprised if White didn't do much better if any at all behind this line. I still think line changes should be made, can't get any worse.
