View Full Version : Lamont Thompson... Anxious to Play...?
Tennessee 09-29-2006, 12:50 PM Wow...
I just don't think he has "it" (big shock I know)... I hope he makes some plays this weekend, but I hope the coaching staff feels that he would need to make a few more game-changers to keep his starting role...
from the article:
Thompson feels that the safety duo with Chris Hope is progressing well over the first three weeks of the season.
“Each game were getting more comfortable, the best is yet in front of us.” Thompson said.

well, i hope we havent seen the best.
Slackmaster 09-29-2006, 01:16 PM Realistically, we can't have seen the best.
As many blunders have been made, the team will get better.
The big problem with that is even the other poor teams are likely to tighten up in an effort to improve.

From what y'all have been saying the past week, the best certaily can't be behind him!

Progressing well?!#%@
Yeah, C. Hope is doing a nice job, but you couldn't possibly be referring to your play Lamont. Dude is on something if he thinks that.

ok, I'll bite.
But Mr. Analyst wouldn't that be a real stupid and bone headed thing to do since dallas has such a good defense? is it since that fisher is such a bone head he'd do something like that?. If fisher did that, would that be stupid? Is that like Volek/Collins stupid or start Collins over Vince backwards stupid? Or did poor dreadlock boy just wet himself all over his designer banana hamock briefs all happy like a polly pocket carrying school girl when he was interviewed by that reporter?

Crash Override 09-30-2006, 12:35 AM The guy just can't play. It's amazing how he made the nfl.
Gunny 09-30-2006, 12:45 AM He was a 2nd round pick too wasn't he.
Snookus 09-30-2006, 12:46 AM We need to clone Chris Hope and replace Thompson.
Gunny 09-30-2006, 12:56 AM Or just play someone else.
Snookus 09-30-2006, 01:44 AM Or just play someone else.
Most others will agree that a soulless twin of Hope is a better route than simply using somebody else. Think Gunny!
Gunny 09-30-2006, 01:48 AM It's the weekend, I don't think.
The Mrs 09-30-2006, 02:43 AM Ya'll leave Lamont alone. The coaches watch film and grade their practice. The coaches don't think he's overall, that bad of a player. During Monday's press conference, his name and that glaring play was asked about and people jumped on Lamont. There were other terrible plays and other players called out. Lamont really is a good athlete.
(Gunny, I'm just trying to put out some good kharma, I need some! We still know that Lamont is the Deebil.)

Exactly!
I would never wish for anyone to be injured, but .... well, let's just say I would be happy if Sunday's game produced a situation at safety opposite Hope like what is happening with the Left Guard...
an opportunity for Lowry or Fuller... heck even Woolfolk.

Yep, by the Bengals...

so is tyrone calico.
lamont was singled out by the press because we see that type of play every week... sometimes more than once.
The guy just can't play. It's amazing how he made the nfl.
Marvin Lewis (someone familiar with defense) sniffed it out immediately
KamikaZ 09-30-2006, 03:34 PM Lamont really is an ideal athlete; good size, good speed, good agility, especially for a FS. However, he lacks instincts and just doesn't seem to make good decisions in coverage. His tackling is very hit-or-miss; he actually can deliever some good pop (see him in his Bengal days especially). However, these are the same problems that have plagued him since he first came out; not a lot of growth is a bad bad sign for a player as seasoned as him.

Almost completely agree... with reserve to his speed... Thompson is definately the perfect example of a negative "IT" factor.
