SUMMARY: With the hopeful return of DE Antwan Odom Sunday, Titans coach Jeff Fisher feels it will help keep Kyle Vanden Bosch and Travis LaBoy fresh in the DE rotation. "We’re expecting if he can play he’s going to return to the high level of play that we got out of him during training camp," Fisher said. "That’s what we’re hoping for. It’s only going to give Travis (LaBoy) an opportunity to stay fresh and do what he does best. Now Kyle (Vanden Bosch) on the other hand, he’s not fond of standing on the sideline. (It will) give him a chance to come out, catch his breath and go back in. That’s what it allows us to do, kind of get back to that wave effect that we’ve had success with."

did they ever announce what the actual injury was?

Yeah. It was some kind of strange dislocation between the knee and the tibia and fibula that, believe it or not, is more common with rodeo barrel racers and paratroopers.

Odom is a bust.

Odom is a bust.

I would disagree, not strongly, but slightly... I think he has been effective in the way the Titans have used him.

Plus, DE was a necessity, and it is a challenge to find anyone better at end taken after him in 2004...

in his first two years with split time, he's averaged about 2 sacks a forced fumble or 2 and recovery, 11-13 QB pressures, also 1-2 TD's, plus he's good for about 45 tackles/year.

Not a bust IMO...

I'm looking forward to what he brings when he's healthy.

What about Robaire Smith, is he going to be able to play any in this game? I think we need all the help we can get on both O-Line and the D-Line...

Practice performer: Defensive end Antwan Odom made two tackles, one tackle for a loss and had one quarterback pressure in his first appearance. Fisher said he expected a lot more.

And KVB is a bust too, right. I mean he only got 1 tackle and a few assists, and he's been healthy all year....

How the hell did this become a comparison between Odom and KVB? :drunk:

Why not just couple him with laboy and get 2 busts for the price of one?

Laboy and odom combined 55 games 15 sacks. Not bad for a couple of 2nd rd picks eh?

Vigsted got tired of playing by himself.

I just find it incredibly dumb to label him a bust his first game back after an injury. Sure if he plays poorly, and by that I mean so bad that it in no way can be blamed solely on Schwartz (see Hill and Thompson), for the rest of the season, sure call him a dissapointment or bust if you will, but right now it's extremely premature.

Even my first post in this thread was last Friday, 9/29. (FYI - That was before the game). If you're waiting on this guy to break out, don't hold your breath.....it's not happening. I've seen enough of him healthy to form an opinion.

Was I premature with Woolfolk as well - two years ago?

Giving these habitually injured stiffs a pass is what I find incredibly dumb. They're below average at best - when healthy.

Thank you for sparing me the "he's shown flashes" Fisherspeak. It's the most overused meaningless line in Titanland.....and everyone has bought in.
