Practices are open to the media, but Fisher threatened to close them if any outlet reported the division of practice-field work between Young and Collins before Saturday.

So much for open practices I guess, if it's true.

Looks like it's the real deal. But lets remember that this is VY's first start. So, we don't know what to expect. Let's be patient and just be excited the future is out there learning his craft.

I know if he doesn't do well the entire world will be ripping the Titans and VY apart.

It doesn't work that way on this forum.

Once you are drafted you are suppossed to be Rookie Of The Year or Reese is the worst GM in the league and Fisher needs to be fired. If Vince Young doesn't throw for 300 yards, 3 td's and 50 rushing yards in a win...

:winker: a qp rating of 85 or better would be nice.

I'll defend him to the death but I do not expect anything super spectacular tomorrow. We are going to see a guy that is going to try to take it easy and not take any unneccessary chances. All those defensive guys will be drooling to hit him, you can bet on that. I'll still be a Vince Young guy if he throws 3 int's and tanks his passer rating on par with my breathelizer test. SUMMARY: Rookie QB Vince Young will make his first NFL start for the Tennessee Titans on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys. Young already had played spot duty in each of the Titans' first two games. But the Titans are winless at 0-3 and are hoping the quarterback who led Texas to the national title in January can provide a spark to their offense. Coach Jeff Fisher had promised he wouldn't start Young until the rookie was ready, and he publicly said Monday that veteran Kerry Collins would start against Dallas (1-1). Young is 10-of-23 for 133 yards with a touchdown and an interception this season in limited duty.

Let's see how many times they try to get some cheap hits in on Vince.....

Vince is gonna be fine, but if he's not perfect.....a bunch of morons will already say he was the wrong pick, overrated...etc, etc...(like other people have said)....

If we lock down Terry Glenn and control the run game, maybe we can knock Drew Dedthrow around and get him scared.....
Maybe Pac can return a punt without getting it called back......

Read the Tennessean article. Collins was practicing with the scout team and Young wsa getting all the reps. The only reason Fisher didn't announce earlier was so Dallas would not prepare for Young.

The way the coaches were talking about Young's progress this doesn't surprise me. Chow spoke in one interview that VY wasn't "quite" ready yet but when asked if he was progressing faster than he expected he said 1000x faster. I have to hand it to Fisher for now. At least he is trying to spark the team and who knows. This might turn out pretty darn good.

I'm unbelievably excited. It changes the whole complexion of the game and the crowd support. I'm hoping to hear alot of noise from the Coliseum, errr-oops- LP Field for the defense.

I really don't care how Vince plays- just get the real time reps against a good defense- and Please Lord- No injuries.

It's funny. Some of the sports reporters around town had been talking about "maybe" this would be the week that the Titans would give vince his first start. I didn't pay it much attention, thinking they were just floating ideas. But this makes a lot of sense. They had already noticed the division of reps in practice this week and were not supposed to talk about it yet.

Very cool news.

I like the boldness of it. It took mcnair until his 3rd season to take over and young is doing it after 3 games. Wow!

Unusual isn't it that now that collins has been here over a month and is probably finally getting a grasp of the offense he has to sit down. Despite the 2 ints against the dolphins he did have his best game.

In any event this is a team that has averaged 11 points a game and i'm sure we can do better with young. We will now see a crowd that is on fire and a team that is on fire. The gayboys are going down!

I think the fans here are getting their expectations entirely too high. Most of you have played football, and I knowthat you know it's a team sport. I expect VY to be an improvement, but I'd be really careful about expecting him to carry the team on his shoulders all by himself. Even if he stinks it up for 3 years, it would be hard to call him a bust with this team around him.

GoTitans3801

Bud did it. He told Fisher that Young would start. Fisher's the one who has been saying he would be patient with Young. Bud wants to mess with Texas, he's just starting earlier than we thought.

I'm excited but nervous. If he even has a decent performance the next three games, we could have a fun second half...

I don't expect miracles out of him. I still think we will lose to "The Boys". It's Vince's first start and he will make some mistakes, rookie mistakes, and will probably cost a few game along the way with an INT here and there, but I still think he will be an improvement and will get better as he goes along. I'm still looking at all this with hope for next year more so than this year. Alex Smith looked like total crap last year, but this year he has looked much better. Once Vince develops some chemistry with the recievers and better feel for the Defences....watch out!

We've lost three winnable games because our front office/coaching staff is lost. Volek should have been dumped/traded much earlier. Young should have been held out until after the bye week. Lost.
