Obviously this kid is smoking something, because to have us at 2 and the Texans picking at 10 is idiotic and I lost all respect for his mock once I saw that. C'mon, the Texans can't even run the ball and keep digging deeper while we're improving and showing signs of climbing out.

better hands? what are you smoking? we dont need a returner, we have one of the better in the league.

as for better hands, feast your eyes on this...

im really afraid ginn is just a taller version of peter warrick. great athlete who made spectacular plays in college because he had superior athletic ability.

holy shi-taki mushrooms.. i guess ur rite better hands... but does he have the speed when he gets that ball in his hands?

bigtitan53279
10-17-2006, 06:36 PM
he's been timed at 4.35. he's impossible to stop on fade routes because he's 6'4" and has a 40" vertical.

how are we going to get this guy? What pick do u think he will get drafted will he be a top 5 pick? if so we are screwed cuz we are playing better and i kno we will beat the texans twice.. we will beat the bills.. maybe ravens.. theres no way were going to get a top 5 pick.

bigtitan53279
10-17-2006, 06:49 PM
i could see us beating houston twice. MAYBE jacksonville once depending on how their injuries shake out, MAYBE indy. going to buffalo in december is no easy task. new england could be a W if they have a playoff seed locked up and the rest their players.

so would could be in position to get the guy.

paraconspiracy

if we aren't in position we better get there somehow. we got plenty of trade bait this year... brown/ big mad AL/ kenny/ bennett. we gotta make somethin of these guys before they are just let go.

my worry about CJ is he's mike williams.
my hope for CJ is he's TO with marvin harrisons attitude and hands

I've found another mock, and guess what, in this one we're picking Moses at #5, one of my favourite prospects, although Adams all the way down at #20 is too low for a guy of that sort of talent, once again, Calvin is picked at #2...

Man, it's just so hard. You got one who looks to be a bigger, faster version of Dante Hall and another guy, in Calvin, who preety much catches everything in a 10ft. radius of him(litterally!) Then, on the other hand, we may not even get to pick him. That DE, Moses, seems nice though. We'll just have to see what happens come end of the season and April....

Did you see pick #15? Merriweather to the Ravens. I laughed out loud, how appropriate.

Even knowing their past history, I just can't imagine the Raiders would pass on a QB.

Titans2008
10-19-2006, 11:47 AM
Brady Quinn has to be the top pick barring injury. There's no way the Raiders can pass on QB and he is clearly the top.

We'll have to stay tuned to the rest of the season to guess the next picks, but I'm gonna bet that CJ and AP are going 2 and 3, the order depending on who is picking there, of course.

dont worry about the attitude, hes every bit of a team player that u could hope for, and he is faster than TO, almost as fast as reggie bush 4.33 - 4.35 not much of a difference at all

Just look at the Johnson guy...6'5'' 245 pounds and that speed? I saw that Clemson cornerback bounce off him at full speed this weekend, and was amazed even before that. He's like Vince when he runs, he's faster than he looks because of his slow but very long strides. Definitely better suited for the NFL than Ginn because of his size, vertical, and catching ability. If he had a decent passer his numbers would be incredible.

Gunny
10-23-2006, 12:35 AM
I didnt think CJ had a catch against Clemson?

bigtitan53279
10-23-2006, 12:38 AM
you know, i've been thinking about this the past two days. there are a few teams that could end up in front of us who wont take CJ. the raiders need someone to get their already great WRs the ball. matt millon would be hanged if he took another WR in the first round. houston has andre johnson and eric moulds and need serious help on defense. arizona doesnt need any WRs. miami's first need is offensive line.

so we could theoretically be at 5 or 6 and still get the best player in the country.

Gunny
10-23-2006, 12:41 AM
Well same argument can be made for us.

With Givens, Jones, Wade and possibly Bennett we don't really need CJ, especially with other needs.

bennett is in the last year of his contract, and frankly hasnt played all that well.

i think you're confusing quantity with quality. jones, wade and givens are all good at what they do, but we need someone who does everything great.

Gunny
10-23-2006, 12:53 AM
That is why I said possibly Bennett.

It was off a QB-WR option. Reggie Ball pitched it at a stupid time and it looked like the CB, who was going full throttle, was going to take Johnson out behind the LOS but he just brushed him off and kept going like it was nothing.

Titans2008
10-23-2006, 10:17 AM
There's no doubt. We take CJ if he's available. I have a feeling that other teams who don't need a receiver might still take him. Only the Raiders and Lions will definately not take him imo.

Who really knows what CJ runs in the 40? Some are spouting off #'s as if they are facts. I seriously doubt he runs a 4.3. He doesn't look that fast to me, but he looks to have everything else you'd want.

Some times I've read from sites I think are more believable say mid 4.5's.

Now if he does pull a Matt Jones, I'll be seriously impressed.

Titans2008
10-27-2006, 02:48 PM
Lol. There's no way he runs over a 4.5 man. 4.3 might be stretching it, but typically when someone says they run a 4.3, it means that they had one 40 time less than 4.4. That's not really true 4.3 speed. That's a true rarity. It's more like 4.4 speed, it just looks better to see a 4.39 up there than 4.40 even though there's virtually no difference.

Bobo
10-27-2006, 03:32 PM
But who's doing the "saying" here? How can anyone know for sure he runs this or that?

NFLDRAFTSCOUT is one of the best sites out there. NFL.com even uses some of their info. They say 4.55 for CJ. Another in depth site said something like 4.57. Not saying those are facts for sure.

I just see some guys trying to hype a player by throwing out #'s that can't be taken as fact yet. So if his 4.33 turns into a 4.53, well some people will think this great player isn't so great anymore.

On the field performance is most important anyway. He doesn't look like a 4.3 guy to me. Reggie Bush, Ted Ginn, those look like 4.3 guys.

Crash Override

Snookus

Calvin may not look that fast on the field, but he is. Just like Vince, he is very tall and has a huge stride. Once step from Calvin may be equal to two RB or Ginn steps. Obviously with size, hands, and athletability like this, speed is really an extra benefit.

Bobo
10-28-2006, 12:42 AM
I know not to judge a long strider by how he looks. I've judged him while db's were close. He wasn't running away from these DB's like Ginn did.

But hey, Roby doesn't look 4.3 fast either.

TitanKid4Life
10-29-2006, 01:57 AM
40 time doesnt mean anything, its all about gamespeed, does anyone remember that vince ran a 4.5 40 but yet in a game he can outrun everyone on the field (college) michael huff who ran a 4.3 somethin said that he cant even catch vince, and how he ran outside of freeney then went untouched for the td against the colts, its all gamespeed, now i dont think that cj is as fast as ginn or reggie bush but hes a lot faster than he looks, or than what his 40 time may say

bigtitan53279
10-29-2006, 08:34 AM
i would expect ginn to run the fastest 40 at the combine. two reasons; he's just that fast and he was an all state track guy in high school. he'll be able to get out of the blocks with relative ease, which is something a lot of guys struggle with. if you get a bad start out of the blocks you have a bad 40 time.

Bobo
10-29-2006, 10:08 AM
Merriweather caught he with relative ease from behind yesterday. I've seen him listed in the mid 4.4's.

bigtitan53279
10-29-2006, 11:02 AM
did he kick him afterwards?

Bobo
10-29-2006, 08:53 PM
