Carpy 11-03-2006, 08:18 PM So you've gone from janitor to Caddy in the space of a week. Keep this up and you'll be selling burgers by the end of the season.
TNThunder 11-04-2006, 01:39 AM Louisville has a couple of good WR's too...don't know what year they are.

thats what the word on Johnson has been for two years, the offense he is in is terrible, and they have a QB who won't give him the ball...
bigtitan53279 11-04-2006, 07:27 PM jonathan heffney was way more impressive today than laron landry. kind of reminds me a little of chris hope. not really the biggest guy, but that doesnt stop him from laying the wood. he used to be a corner too, so you know he has some coverage skills.
bongo59 11-04-2006, 08:28 PM heffney has slow foot speed though...............Laron Landry is a sub 4.45 guy................he will make huge strides in workouts..............only player in LSU history to lead his team in tackles every yr..............and likely to continue this yr...........the only knock on him is he tries for the knockout punch instead fo going for the ball..............one scout told me he is the closest thing to Ronnie Lott at the S position he has seen.................and he is completely opposite MHuff...............Huff is a ball hawk S while Landry is a smash mouth S who hits like a LB but runs like a CB...............
bigtitan53279 11-04-2006, 08:42 PM i'd say the most impressive guys i saw today were...
1. calvin johnson(2 tds and over 100 yards in the first half)
2. gaines adams
3. jonathan hefney
4. robert meachem
*edit* also add 5. josh wilson. senior corner for maryland.

Meachem showed out Landry today, IMO- Heffney and Wade looked okay, and D-Morely is a future 1st rounder...
Titans2004 11-05-2006, 07:58 AM I prefer Michael Griffin over Landry. Griffin just continues to make plays. He hits like a truck and has good ball skills. He does get sucked in by playaction some, but I'll take a few miss reads to go along with the plays he makes. This yr Griffin has 3INTs, 3 FF, and 6 PBUs to go along with 90 tackles compared to Landry 47 tackles, 1 INT, 2 PBU, 1 FF.
This draft is going to be very deep at WR as long as the underclassmen come out. It is also extremely strong at safety and CB. It is weak at LB.
If we have a shot at CJ you take him. Otherwise I'd love to trade down to get an extra 2nd and go safety, MLB, and either DE/OG
GoTitans3801 11-05-2006, 09:47 AM We always "love to trade down". It's rare and difficult. I hope we trade some of those fourths and stuff to get an extra second. Three picks in the first two rounds could really bolster our team.
wplatham 11-05-2006, 10:02 AM I think you're wrong about Hefney's foot speed. I've been watching the guy for 3 years, and he hasn't looked too slow to me. But it's a pointless argument because we won't find out until the combines. Meachem is really good, too, though he was off early (dropped 3 passes in the first quarter). I like Wade, he's a tall athletic corner. Definitely a playmaker. As for D. Morley, everyone up in Knoxville knows he's something special. They've been trying to find ways to get him on the field since his freshman year. He's finally starting at SS due to injuries this year. Definitely a guy to keep your eye on.
Well, there's my two cents.
What I've seen of Hefney his whole career is he does not have slow foot speed for a S. He does not have the ideal size for a S though/
Wade has always been a pretty good prospect imo. I imagine he goes in the middle rounds. Dude is really quick and fast, but he may be a bit of a project.
bigtitan53279 11-05-2006, 04:59 PM calvin johnson ended up with 9 receptions for 168 yards and 2 tds. i think after our WR performance today against the jags it's apparent we need a go to guy at WR. im tired of teflon drew and bobby "alligator arms" wade. right now the only WR we have that is worth a damn is brandon jones, and i just dont know if we can count on him to be healthy.
TitanKid4Life 11-05-2006, 05:26 PM i saw brandon jones drop 1 or 2 passes today, and i got on just to say what u did about the performance today and needing calvin johnson
Not sure where you'd find it, but I'd like to see a stat for # of passes dropped. We're not as bad as Seattle was (at least I hope not), but it seems like we're dropping more than usual.
bigtitan53279 11-05-2006, 06:40 PM not sure if this is what you're looking for, but...

titansfan9 11-06-2006, 10:27 PM Johnson, Blaylock, then Wade would be my dream draft....
Titans2008 11-07-2006, 10:26 AM Patrick Willis is the next Demeco Ryans...
Soxcat 11-07-2006, 12:56 PM This is what happens to teams in the NFL that stink. By mid season the fans are starting to look forward to the draft.
My two cents worth is I would take Calvin Johnson if we have a shot at him. He looks like a can't miss guy. If we draft later I would lean to taking a S although if Fisher stays he will not play for a couple of years.
