Ray Lewis says that Steve McNair's exit from Tennessee -- which included McNair being banned from the team's practice facility -- wouldn't have been the same if he'd been Brett Favre or Peyton Manning. ...more (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2656772&campaign=rss&source=NFLHeadlines)

being associated with a murder or drugs must be nothing in his mind if this was "heartless" :suspect:

It was heartless. It was probably the lowest moment for the Titans since the move to Tennessee. But I think they would have done it to anyone.

McNair had every excuse in the book made for him when he wasn't playing close to what he was being paid. The finger was never pointed at him even when it needed to be. He was never called out for rookie mistakes which killed a number of games last year.

If he wants to screw up his legacy in Tennessee, turning this into some racial thing will do it. If race was a factor, he'd never been drafted to begin with.

(I warn myself 10% for making a racial comment)

I haven't looked at any sources to check but if I remember rightly when we signed Moon there weren't many black QB's that had started in the league.

Not too long ago racism was notorious amongst 'old money' family owned teams & for all his faults Bud bucked the trend. VY is our 3rd consecutive black QB, how many teams can say that?

IMO TJ that was another 'Captain Obvious' statement as opposed to a racial comment. :ha: :))

Titans handling of McNair was a color thing - $$$green$$$

Favre's performance in 2005 was not good http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/1028

his 2006 unofficial cap is $12.633 M http://members.cox.net/cappage/2006cap.htm

McNair's 2005 performance wasn't good http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/1069

his 2006 cap hit would have been 23.46 M

If McNair's cap hit for this year was closer to Favre's IMO he would still be here

I think I may have to change my title from "Big Kahuna" to "Captain Obvious".
