View Full Version : The VY effect

He is never on a team very long before the entire team, offense and defense, would run through a brick wall for him. If you can't see it happening on the Titans, you are blind. It is fun to watch.

It's clear that he's a special guy. I liked it when we turned the team over to him completely. It's his team now. We have confidence in him, now let's give him some confidence in us.

i liked the quote by brandon jones about Vince telling the guys in the huddle:

"If you guys don’t want to play then you need to get out of the huddle"

Isn't that an amazing quote coming from a rookie who is speaking to multimillionaire veteran players?

2 things:

1) He ran Brandon Jones off the field on that last drive when BJ missed the cut and ran his route 5 yards deeper. Seriously- he waived him off the field and told him to get to the sidelines.

2) EVERYONE needs to watch the real player post game video of Vince. It's obvious why the team responds to his leadership style.

Any doubters? Those who know Vince have seen this before many times, so they know what they are seeing. Those that don't know him may take a while longer to adjust. In the end, there will be no doubt. It is Vince's team.

okay, so i don't read every thread, but unless Gunny IS VINCE YOUNG, i wouldn't try to take credit for what he does on the field.

been fortunate to watch him at Madison high school and he was doing his magic back then too.

"I would never trade away the three years I had with Matt as my quarterback," White said. "But if I was an NFL team, I don't know how you could not take Vince Young. A quarterback's job is to control the game. When a guy throws for 260 and runs for 200 in the biggest game of the year, he doesn't just control a game, he shows he can completely take it over. Nothing against Matt, but Vince has to be the No. 1 guy." ---- Lendale White

I wonder what the Vince Young effect will be on the Titans free agent search in 2007...

I hope and imagine that players will want to come to Tennessee to play on a vince young team...

When we (the Longhorns that is) were playing in the 2005 Rose Bowl against Michigan, we were in a similar position as the Rose Bowl against USC.

When Michigan took the lead with a little over 2 mins to go, Vince stood next to Mack Brown, patted him on the stomach and said, "Don't worry coach. I got this." He then went on to drive the team down the field to set up for the game winning FG.

That says it all about VY.

Vince Young so funny when he sits down and talks. I love his personality. He is a bit quirky but I like it! :ha:

With Young being "God" and all, FA's will be paying to play here......:grrhee:

:wack:

Its obvious the guy wants to take control of the offense and play it to his preference. If he sees something he doesn't like, let him bite the receivers heads off. We need a leader on both sides of the team. Bulluck is getting the job done on the Defense, and I'm liking that VY is stepping up and letting his voice be heard on Offense.

I think after seeing him, these past few weeks, other players have to be impressed. And, that has to help when the team is looking for a selling point during the off-season.

Nice read.... It did seem like the light blub came on during the Giants game and will only shine brighter from this point on....

A simliar thing happened in college his sophmore year from what I've read.. He went from a fair QB who could run like the wind to a great all around QB who could pass and run like the wind and it happened almost over night.... I'm sure it will take him longer in the NFL but you never know?

93 rating over the last 2 games.. 39-60 is 65%....65% would be near the very top in the NFL right this second.. And a 93 rating would be top 8..

I think he will continue to struggle early in games and then finish fast..

Of course he will have some bad games, everyone does just ask Payton Manning or Joe Montanna...ect.

3 out of 4 good games to end the season might just win him rookie of the year.. The talk is already starting...something I would not have believed 4 weeks ago..

That would a great achievement, especially with the weekly improvement he's showing. Unfortunately, it seems that the way people think right now, they would vote Reggie Bush out of blindness.
