I am not too impressed with how the PS3 currently handles it.

The Wii executes this stuff very well, but the novelty has already worn off on me.

My daughter played the hell out of the Wii at first, but now has gone back to primarily playing the 360.

As much as Nintendo wants to attribute the current Wii success to its controller, I think that the cheap price tag and the lack of good games on the other two consoles are big reasons for this success as well. The Wii is currently selling cheaper than the current-gen consoles when they first came out - that's something to take into consideration.

One has to wonder if they'll be able to keep it up, though. The amount of great and impressive games will certainly increase for the 360 and PS3, eventually. And as much fun as it might be to wave your arms and hit a tennis ball with a bubble-head doll, it could get old at some point - I remember how fun it was to shoot ducks with the plastic gun from the first Nintendo console, but I got bored after a while.

Regardless, Nintendo is making a huge profit right now, and the Wii will more than likely keep selling pretty good throughout the year.

As for the 360 and PS3 - the 360 has sold in a year almost half the amount than the original Xbox sold in 3-4 years, so that's obviously good. The numbers for the PS3 might not be impressive, but they are actually not that bad if you consider the big price tag and lack of games. Not to mention that they have yet to launch in regions such as Europe and Australia.

it really is considering what hardware is in it 3 processors at 3.2ghz each..well thats 400 big ones right there. don't get me wrong tho gunny i could say the same for the ps3(other than the 3 processors part..lol) allot of that hardware in the consoles are very expensive if you were to buy the hardware separately to build a extremely good gaming computer or something it would cost thousands of dollars.

It depends when you saw them. Costs of manufacturing may have dropped.

also depends on which games you prefer. i hate FPS's, so i wont be getting a 360, since that's about all they're good for.

So you don't know that Guitar hero 360 is coming out od from the creator of Final Fantasy who LEFT square to make RPGs just for 360 like Blue Dragon and Lost Oddessey coming out this year ..plus Namco has a few RPGs planned...Squarenix will no longer be Sony only in fact they are doing more with Nintendo than anyone these days and they plan to keep it that way...but yes FF13 will still be PS3 but Japans fave series/RPG Dragon Quest is Wii and DS now...and both Japan and the US Wii is greatly outselling PS3...looking much like history repeating itself (DS blowing out PSP)

most of the games i play are cross platform, but the ones im looking forward to the most are the ps3 exclusives(MGS4, god of war III, FF XIII, killzone II[one of the few FPS i like], and Tekken 6)

Maybe in aussie but in the states they pretty much stuck with PS2 and LOADS and LOADS of RPGs from Square ..same with Japan.

i heard somewhere that splinter cell DA is the last splinter cell to come out on multiple platforms. after that, new ones will only be on the 360.

Guitar hero is NOT coming out for PS3 at least NOTHING announced and most those games are on 360 and the price is MAJOR factor...it's the biggest reason why most are not buying it when they can get the games on 360 for 200$ less....I know what games have street dates since I get to talk with our Sony/Nintendo/Microsoft reps...and have list on our computer at work...add to that any time people hear the price on PS3 then 360 then see what games ...they opt for 360..PS3's lay around unsold for LONG periods of time.

And in one of the two biggest gaming markets that is BAD.

It's common sense. It is a major seller for Sony and that is what they need.

It is like saying after God of War came out, that there wouldn't be a second one. You know another will come out.

Plus they are already advertising for help on the next guitar hero game.

with no news hints or even rumour it is wishful thinking and no matter what PS2 did developers ALWAYS go after what is CURRENTLY selling the most systems as in what is most popular and right now PS3 is losing badly ....if it was all about power PS2 would have lost and Gamecube and Xbox would have won..but PS2 was the most popular so most games were made for it..and right now Wii is the most popular overall and 360 is very popular in the US esp how PS3 is tough to program for while 360 is easier and so is Wii ... PS2 was not easy to devellop for but it's sales forced them into developing for it...if they have the option of going elseware they will in a heartbeat and right now they have that option to not develop for PS3 and some have openly stated they will skip the PS3 for a while.

Because it would not have sold as well. :slap: and many ports for Xbox and GCN were ports of the PS2 version...why Madden always looked like crap when on Xbox or Gamecube....Gamecube was more powerful than PS2 easily ....PS2 had a 294 MHz CPU while GCN had a 485MHz CPU and Xbox 733 MHz..yet GCN sold 21 million systems and Xbox 24 million world wide...PS2 100 mill (granted much of that is the older brick systems sucked and broke down and people replaced them often) but there is still great demand for PS2 because of the games it has.

See the biz works as simple as this if system sells alot that is where the majority of the audience is so make money there if system does not sell as well..that is where less people buy the product...that is why PS2 had the most games...yes every once in a while a developer wants a system with power and tries to make a game on that console and sometimes it's great and sells well but that is a minority as there is a few exceptions to every rule.

PSp for example is much more powerful than DS but is has sold 19 mill systems world wide and DS has sold 35 mill ..in 2006 alone DS sold 27 million games and PSP sold 2 million games....many developers have dropped off PSP in favour of DS...many PS3 games have been cancled or moved to 360 or moved multiplatform because PS3 is just not selling/tough to develop for.

That logic would make sense for average and below average games, but definitely not for big games such as GTA, which was indeed ported to the Xbox -- the revenue might not be as big as on the PS2, but it will be worth it regardless.

What games have been cancelled? I know that Konami cancelled some PS3 games (http://ps3.ign.com/articles/754/754307p1.html), though, some Wii games were cancelled as well. Another one is WWE SmackDown! vs. RAW 2007, but that was because of time constrains and they stated that the next version will be available on the PS3 (http://ps3.ign.com/articles/720/720579p1.html).

There are actually several games that are being ported to the PS3 such as Saints Row, Oblivion and Double Agent.

The Wii does induce some crazy injuries. I've only played it once, at an EB Games. And I was playing that crappy Zelda fishing game, and I got so into it that I had a sore shoulder immediately afterwards. Needless to say, the people in the store were looking at me funny. Pretty sure I broke a sweat trying to reel in a damn catfish that I had to throw back.
