View Full Version : McNair wants to come home
This is just a rumor that I've heard by several people. I'm sorry if it has already been posted.
From what I've heard from at least 3 people is that McNair isn't happy in Baltimore and wants to come home to Tennessee and retire as a Titan.
Not sure if this is true or just speculation.
backup to Vince would be nice. No way is McNair going to be our starter. I have respect for Steve but Vince is freakin' awesome.
what do you think? :)
McNair and Eddie will both be Titans again
for one day ...... to announce their retirements
oochymp 02-06-2007, 12:31 AM I'd be very surprised (pleasantly) if McNair came back to be a backup, I think everyone sorta knew that the next time the Titans would be competitive VY would be the QB, that's why McNair left, I don't see him coming back now that VY's the starter adn doing well, unless it's what Puck's refering to with a one-day deal
theprizdfighter 02-06-2007, 07:04 AM I could see him coming to back up VY. Did McNair and the Ravens work out an extension?
Smash 02-06-2007, 07:30 AM McNair signed a 5 year contract with the Birds and counts 5.45 million against the cap i 2007 and 6.45 i 2008. In 2009 and 2010 it's 8.45 against the cap.

McNair's home is still here, and he's always said he'll return; I don't think he meant as a player, but after he retires. I can't see him being a back-up.
PitBull 02-06-2007, 01:03 PM I don't see him coming back.. Probably the rumors are nothing more than just hopeful thinking.
He's taken his team to the superbowl and has done good enough for his first year as a raven. He'll be making big money there anyway. He'll probably just retire as a raven.
He'll come back to Tennessee if the Titans are open underneath the linebackers on 3rd and 9.

TitanJeff we really should consider drug testing procedures for our forum.:grrhee:
Ewker 02-12-2007, 08:59 AM McNair said on Channel 5 last night that he is happy in Baltimore and expects the Ravens to contend for the Super Bowl this yr...doesn't sound like he wants to come home :grrhee:

Um...I thought he lived in Mississippi.....

He still has a farm there, along with his birth family, but from what I've heard it's considered more of a get-away. I can't see his wife moving to the farm full-time, especially with his two younger boys in school here. His eldest in Mississippi is a high schooler, so I'd guess he'll be off to college soon; I don't know how old or what grade the second one is.
LT21Titans27 02-15-2007, 08:26 PM thatd be nice for McNair, but as for Eddie, he can still ball
pacman41 02-15-2007, 10:07 PM McNair is still a Titan at heart, but, like other people have said, he won't want to play backup, he's still better than a lot of starters in the NFL, but vince is something special, and McNair knows it, so he wouldn't try to come back to play for Tennessee. But I would love to see him retire as a titan
