View Full Version : Shawn Livingstons injury Gunny 02-27-2007, 09:28 PM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-pk7_-FIlTw ouch. bulluck4dMVP 02-27-2007, 10:14 PM take a look danny :whoop:  http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/sp/getty/e1/fullj.getty-71797624hh001_charlotte_bob_12_31_01_am.jpg KamikaZ 02-27-2007, 10:15 PM Disgusting injury. Gunny 02-27-2007, 10:17 PM at least he didn't cry unlike a certain someone with a shoulder injury.. bulluck4dMVP 02-27-2007, 10:21 PM at least he didn't cry unlike a certain someone with a shoulder injury.. ohhh thats gotta be david stern's choir boy that needed a wheelchair & blanket escort off the court for a shoulder injury :eh?: titanbuoy 02-27-2007, 10:27 PM Damn. That's nearly as bad as Nap McCallum's knee/leg disaster. edit: although at least with McCallum's injury he was wearing football pants as opposed to basketball shorts so you couldn't really see the flesh and bone reality of the injury... the photo in the second link is brutal. Here's the McCallum injury (he nearly had to have his leg amputated and certainly never got anywhere near the football field again) warning this isn't pretty (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVchNFaUiVc) oochymp 02-27-2007, 11:14 PM While we're posting random injuries, here's Thiesmann's career ender it looks like a normal tackle at first, but about half way through they show the reverse angle  not for the easily nausiated (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clM8mPPDx9E&NR) Gunny 02-28-2007, 02:12 AM man LT looked devastated after that play. oochymp 02-28-2007, 09:58 AM man LT looked devastated after that play. yeah, that's one of the interesting things about that video, just shows no matter how rough a player may seem, they don't really want to hurt anyone on the field (generally speaking) BigRed3 02-28-2007, 05:42 PM That's a terrible injury for Livingston. He has so much potential to be one of the greatest point guards of all time. Now one can only hope he can even come back from something like that. titanbuoy 02-28-2007, 07:26 PM I heard on the news today that Livingstone suffered no arterial or nerve damage (although he did sever three ligaments). I know with McCallum's injury one of the problems they had was restoring proper blood flow to the lower leg due to massive arterial damage. He still has a long rehab, but it sounds like Livingstone should eventually be back on the court. oochymp 02-28-2007, 07:31 PM that's such a freak accident, you'd hate to see the guy's career end on that Yossarian 03-01-2007, 03:20 AM that was the costliet Flea Flicker ever in Theismann's case.. poor Livingstone hope surgery and rehab go well for the guy.. always tough to recover from something like that Crash Override 03-05-2007, 08:28 AM He may never play again. bigtitan53279 03-05-2007, 02:59 PM man LT looked devastated after that play. yeah, LT has said he hasnt seen the video and he never will. he was doing an interview for 20/20 and they wanted to show it to him. he threatened to leave if they tried to show him. oochymp 03-06-2007, 12:06 PM I read an interesting article the other day about Livingston, using his situation as an argument for players to come out of college early (like Livingston did) Link (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=dw-agedefiance022807&prov=yhoo&type=lgns) What do you guys think? Crash Override 03-06-2007, 09:18 PM Yeah I read the same thing. It's all about money these days, I would rather go to college though. It's a fun experience. |
