Once again, I hoped for the best with PS3, and only bought a 360 to tide me over to see if the PS3 would do as well as I expected. But the coffin is closing, and it doesn't look good. We might only be in round 6 of the heavyweight bout but sony's eyes are swollen shut and can't seem to get off the ropes. There's still time, but they better get someone to make them a decent game.
With PS2, they had the better game lineup with the weaker system, but they got the headstart on xbox. This time it's the exact opposite.

As pointed out in another thread PS3 has sold more since it's existence then the 360 did in the same time frame.

That Star Wars game looks great from what we can see so far. All the detail in movements is a good sign of things to come.

Force Unleashed looks different, and I think it has potential. The action did not look as intense as something like gears of war. So the key will be the story. It may have to hold all this force fighting together.

Yes, but they haven't yet. I do think that we'll start seeing great games for the PS3 soon. But as of right now, the PS3 isn't in a position to own anyone. Plus, don't forget that the 360 is getting a few good games of it's own too.

PC is no doubt superior, I just hate installing, upgrading and using a mouse/keyboard to play games.

It's not about what console is better, it's about the games. It always has been.

People who fight over which console is better are usually the ones who already own a console. It's a way of reassuring themselves that they made the right choice, I guess.

Do you read what I wrote? Or do you just read what you want to. I said when PS3 releases their games, it won't even be close. Most people are not buying a PS3 until the games they want come out, and when that happens I bet you PS3 will dominate the sales against 360.

Im talking bout games like Castlevania, Devil May Cry 4, Final Fantasy XIII, Grand Turismo 5, GTA 4, Metal Gear 4, Resident Evil 5, and more.

The point I am trying to make is people are waiting for said games to come out, before they buy there ps3.

Resident Evil will be available for all. GTA 4 will be available for all. Castlevania? If sony is banking on Castlevania, they are in fact doomed. Final Fantasy still has a cult of players, but not enough to help fight off a far better lineup. Metal Gear might just suck as bad as the last one. Grand Tourismo's last game sucked too, and GT's are a dime a dozen these days. See: Forza, Project Gotham, etc. Not much else you can do for a realistic racing game.


And yes, we all know that the PC is superior, but FAR less convenient.

I will jump in and say that 360 is winning the War right now. GRAW 2 - Gears (biggest selling game in 06), soon Guitar hero 2 and Halo 3. Let me just say that Halo 3 will probably sell more than any other game in history. Where I work, we have about 20 gamers. 15 own 360's, 4 PS3's and 1 Wii.

I don't think any game will ever touch Mario for most game sold ever.

And to sell the most ever it actually has to sell more than 4 million consoles first.

Ok, Gunny, let me re-phrase my statement. It will probably sell more games in the first MONTH than any other game released. I understand what you are saying about Mario... my whole statement is that this game is going to be off the CHAIN, and everyone who owns a 360 will probably buy one. i have an x-box and my favourite game on that isn't even announced for the 360 and I am not that big of a fan of FPS which it seems that a lot of 'i can't wait for this game' is a FPS.

I think the Wii is a nice change up from normal pad gaming, but id take a PS3 or #60 over it(I have a 360, advanced package version, and I love it), but i think the nod goes to 360 between 360a dn Ps3, but not by alot, thats just my take

There were sci-fi shooters before Halo. This looks like it'll blow the previous Halos out of the water, and actually seeing footage for Halo 3, it looks like it'll blow Halo 3 out of the water as well.

It's not hard to blow Halo out of the water. Just make a game with a half interesting storyline and similar online.

Halo's considered the GOAT. Many people bought the 1st gen xbox for Halo alone, and many bought the 360 just because of Halo 3. Yeah, it's pretty hard to blow Halo out of the water. :)

Well people are stupid. Halo 1 was the most dull, repetitive game I've ever played and didn't add a single new thing to the gaming industry. Only cool or fun thing about the game was racing the buggies.

"Fractured" looks a little lame at this point. While I appreciate what I assume to be a serious physics engine, I don't see how it can drive a game in of itself. It would probably be popular with the online crowd, at least for a while.

i watched those trailers of mass effect, and all i can say is WOW, that game looks incredible, i really want to get it when it comes out, the ability to combine ur weapons with different skills just fascinates me

Yeah. A story line is only good for a single campaign though. After that, it's done and you'll probably never play it again.

I played through multiple games with no online heaps of times. I played through Final Fantasy VII 8 times.

However that logic suggests that games no longer need a interesting/good single player aspect as long as it is good online.

Campaign storylines these days are almost a bonus feature to casual gamers. But, if you can sit and play Final Fantasy even one time through, I can see where story lines would be a big deal. I'd rather read a book. lol

WRONG!! The casual gamers are not the ones that spend hours playing online. There are a lot more who play games for their offline abilities than online. Unfortunately the "hardcore" gamers are also the most vocal, so as a developer you have to walk a thin line between satisfying the loud minority or the silent majority. Give either side too much and the game will fail.
