After watching the Cavs/Pistons game last nite do you think we can make it to the Finals? I do.. I think they just grew up last nite and LeBron finally starts making some free throws..

BigRed3

The Cavs have as good a shot as any to make it to the Finals, then get trashed by whoever comes out of the west.

As long as we get there is all that matters to me. The rest is up to LeBron. If hes the next Jordan he will show it in the finals

No. LeBron can't do it himself.

Michael Jordan didn't win a chip until he had Pippen. Larry Hughes is no Scotty Pippen. Anderson "Sideshow Bob" Verajao is not Dennis Rodman. Whoever the hell plays point guard for the Cavs is not Steve Kerr.

Dallas is great, and they probably would have beaten LA anyways, but the Lakers right now are completely decimated by injury. Odom is out, Kwame hasn't been the same since he came back, Mihm hasn't played a minute this year, Luke Walton is out, and Andrew Bynum has cooled off considerably since the beginning of the year.

You're going deep in the playoffs in one of the worst conferences in the history of sports. The freaking Knicks are still in the running for a playoff spot for gods sake. Yeah you might make it to the Finals, but as far as i'm concerned the Western Conference Finals will be the real Finals.

You crushed the Kings, they are last in the Pacific. LeBron or not they aren't that good.
And you barely beat Milwaukee.

We crushed Boston, big deal. You're expected to do it to be a playoff team.

We beat the Mavs and were the last team to do so before Golden State and we did it easy.

Um yeah buddy, I do follow the NBA. That West vs. East comment I made earlier was pretty much a terrible one. Look, i'll give the Cavs some credit. Them and the Pistons are clearly the class of the East. I just have some worries about them. Lebron has disappeared for stretches this season, and it's clear that as Lebron goes, so does the Cavs. What's gonna happen when the Pistons (a good defensive team) start slowing down LBJ. Where's the scoring going to come from? Do you really trust Larry Hughes to step it up that much in the playoffs? What about top five pick turned disappointment Drew Gooden? Or whoever plays point guard for them? (who is it, Eric Snow?) All i'm saying is that I don't think the Cavs have the horses to run with the best of the west. They have a real legit shot to make the finals, and as far as i'm concerned, you have to consider that a success. But can the Cav's starting five run with the Mavs (Jason Terry, Josh Howard, Jerry Stackhouse, Dirk, and Eric Dampier), or the high powered Suns (Steve Nash, Raja Bell, Boris Diaw, Shawn Marion, Amare Stoudamire), or the San Antonio Spurs and their smothering defense? You really think that Big Z and his bad feet could handle Amare in a seven game series? Or Duncan? Or Dirk? Don't think so.

BigRed3
03-18-2007, 11:33 PM
The East vs. West comment earlier was supposed to say that the East as a whole is very weak. The top of the Conference is good (Detroit, Cleveland, Chicago, maybe Washington and Miami), but after that it gets pretty darn terrible.

RyansTitans
03-19-2007, 12:01 AM
"and it's clear that as Lebron goes, so does the Cavs."

Have you looked at our record this year without LeBron???

This is just like with the Titans... we were supposed to be a bad team but ended up good. Just cuz the Mavs Suns Spurs ect. are stacked with players dosent always mean there going to run threw the East. Didn't the Pistons just easily take care of the Suns? Then lost a close one to the Mavs?

Players do mean alot. But anyone can win on any given day. When the Cavs are in that zone like we are now I dont see why we cant beat any team that steps up to us.

Look kid, the only reason you came within 3 points of beating us was that we were up by double digits in the 4th & let off the pedal slighty.

The Pistons without Billups arguement doesn't hold water either as we were without our top 2 defenders/role players in Devean George & Greg Buckner, both of which play key roles on our team.

Well it doesn't help that you don't have a 2nd option beind LeBron at all. They spent a boat load of cash on Hughes & he's done absolutely nothing but throw up bricks. Without a 2nd option, its hard to win consistantly, especially against the best teams.

Michael Jordan didn't win a chip until he had Pippen. Larry Hughes is no Scotty Pippen. Anderson "Sideshow Bob" Verajao is not Dennis Rodman. Whoever the hell plays point guard for the Cavs is not Steve Kerr.

The Bulls didn't have a PG per se, they used a lot of 3 G sets with MJ, Kerr and Ron Harper (replace Kerr and Harper with BJ Armstrong and John Paxson from 90-91 to 92-93).

You're going deep in the playoffs in one of the worst conferences in the history of sports. The freaking Knicks are still in the running for a playoff spot for gods sake. Yeah you might make it to the Finals, but as far as i'm concerned the Western Conference Finals will be the real Finals.

Dallas should kill the Clippers. But LA is respectable at every position. They aren't a complete pushover. For an 8 seed they are respectable. The Warriors have nothing, nor do the T-Wolves, nor the Blazers. So I hope that the Clippers get the spot. But Dallas will likely punish them 4 games to one.

I would love to see Kobe play the Suns again. That would be fun. But right now he is headed to San Antonio. Not as much fun, but Kobe should still light up Bowen.

Utah is suprising in that Boozer is so good. His shot in unblockable. I think he's harder to guard than Brand. Sloan is a great coach, but Utah is slumping hard down the stretch. I still don't know how Brewer shoots 50% plus either.

If Nene plays well, the Nougats are much tougher than they used to be to. But no way they can run the suns right now.

I still see the whole round falling to the favorites. Setting up.
Dallas vs. Houston
Suns vs. San Antonio

In the East, I could care less, but Miami in the finals is tough for anyone if Wade is back. And Cleveland with Lebron is pure entertainment. So I will root for those two teams.

I would love to see Kobe play the Suns again. That would be fun. But right now he is headed to San Antonio. Not as much fun, but Kobe should still light up Bowen.

He's going to have to. Last night when he scored 60, the Lakers needed every one of those points to beat the god awful Grizzlies. If he scores 57, they lose. If he doesn't get some sort of help from his "supporting" cast (especially Odom and Walton), the Lakers won't even be competitive in the playoffs.

He's at it again. Kobe has 44 through three.

Kobe scoring mass amounts of points is the only way the Lakers are going to win right now.
