Attention fans of other teams, thou shalt not covet players on the Titans roster (especially when you think you can get them for virtually nothing).

Wow. Interesting how much they sweat Starks and how little they like Jmac. Is Starks THAT good and I just don't know it? 4th rounder for Mcnair but a 3rounder for Starks? Inconcievable!

The third is because of the tender. Though the Titans could easily match anything the Jets offer, I think they would strongly consider it if it was for pick #89.

Starks may be better suited to be a NT. He's only 23. He'll be a UFA next year and it's hard to gauge right now if the Titans would pay both Haynesworth and Starks to stay.

Also consider the Jets have two second-rounders (#37, 59). If the Jets were willing to take the Titans early fourth (#111) and Starks in exchange for pick #59, I think they'd do it in a heartbeat.

Starks and the Titans third (#80) to move up to #37 would work for me.

Wow. Interesting how much they sweat Starks and how little they like Jmac.It didn't take them long to realize that McCareins is terrible.

Come now Brian, you know if Curtis doesn't bless us by paying us a visit (FO is praying as we speak that Curtis will visit) McCareins becomes our next big WR move. Maybe we send Starks for McCareins.......

I hate the idea of giving up on Starks after we've invested a few years developing him. I just have the feeling that both him an Odom are going to mature into solid D-lineman. If the Tacks can pick-up an extra second round pick for Starks and #111, I'd get over those reservations about trading him pretty quick.

The low ball offer I was refering to was some combination of McCareins and a fourth rounder for Starks. The Jets are going to waive McCareins eventually I'd prefer the Titans wait until then and if they're still interested take their chances on being able to sign J Mac when he's a UFA.

First of all, no to bringing McCareins back through trade for Starks; he will be solid.

I don't know how well those ideas match up to the nfl's 'value' scale but they sound pretty realistic & viable to me. Hope it happens. :wink2:

I'm also sold on the TitanJeff model. I hope we can swing either deal, somehow.

i thought starks was going to be dominant after he came on during his rookie season. turns out he only dominates the texans; 3 out of his 10 sacks have come against them.

i like the idea titanjeff had of moving up to #39... other than that i say we try to resign him. remember.. he's only 23!! its basically like he just graduated from college but noe he has 3 years of nfl under his belt.. he has great measureables... i think he'll be a heck of a player as soon as he starts to mature some more.

To put the draft chart to this, the first scenario where we trade #111 and Starks for #59 would mean Starks would be worth 238 points which is equal to the seventh pick of the third round. Sounds realistic though it might cost the Titans a late-rounder as well.

To move up to #37 from #80, it would mean Starks value would be equal to the 24th pick of the second round which I seriously doubt. It would take a fourth as well to make this happen.

Then we use the extra second to take Justin Harrell from UT. I like it.

if they'd take that, I'd be all for it, get three picks in the top 50, there's enough d-line talent that we could probably upgrade the position with one of the three picks

I'd like to keep him too, but if the price is right, anything's for sale ;)
