View Full Version : Titans Running Back Sitution
HoustonTitan 03-18-2007, 01:26 PM ok guys i dont know about anyone else but i am starting to get really nervous all we have in our back field in White and he is not who i want to be our starter he is unexperienced and jsut not who i would want there, so all there is left is Corey Dillon and i know we dont want him, i also dont think we should a get another rookie then we would have to young guys who dont really know the NFL, what i think we need is a vet and the only way we can get one is to trade we need to make a trade and fast! so guys if anyone knows anything: rumors, possible trades.... just post it here!
Vigsted 03-18-2007, 03:07 PM How will an inexperienced player ever gain experience if you refuse to play him?
HoustonTitan 03-18-2007, 03:08 PM good point but we dont want two of them
Vigsted 03-18-2007, 03:19 PM We'll probably pick up a solid if unspectacular veteran backup before the season starts and then draft a "project" on day 2.
texdude2006 03-18-2007, 03:21 PM experience at the running back position is not vital to success. Aggression, power, speed and instinct are.
Snookus 03-18-2007, 03:34 PM I'm the minority here, but I actually have confidence in LenDale. I still believe we need a change of pace guy like Lorenzo Booker or Garrett Wolfe. But I can't wait to see what LenDale does as the #1 guy.
HoustonTitan 03-18-2007, 06:41 PM i think we should get Michael Turner i really think he would do well here! but if we wanted him would we have contacted him already?

You do realize that because he's a restricted FA we'd have to give up a first and a third round pick for him based on the tender the Chargers tagged him with, right? just making sure
HoustonTitan 03-18-2007, 08:45 PM yea but we should actually try to get jones insted
jfrancis04 03-26-2007, 08:15 PM Maybe we will some kind of trade on draft day.

I'm all for Turner ... next year when he's a FA
we can draft a running back in the 2nd round or later who can be serviceable. our options are very narrow for free agency.
TitansCountry25 03-27-2007, 12:17 AM Running Back situation is screwed big time. Travis Henry is a load carrier and pounder, there is no way Lendale can carry it 300+ and gain 1200 yards. I just do not see that in him I will give him a fair chance to prove me wrong but so far I believe that will be a huge mistake that shows up this season. WE MUST have a solid ground game to win. If all were gonna have is chopped liver to throw to which it looks like thats all they will give Vince.

Henry never carried it 300 times.
He's only done it twice in 6 years, and I don't think he will in Denver either.
LenBuddha will get the bulk of the carries no doubt, but I don't think he will get 300.
PitBull 03-27-2007, 08:11 AM I have confidence in Lendale too.. but i hope we add a vet to our roster as well.
I'm sure fish and co. saw things which we haven't to justify the release of TH and handing over the responsibility to LW.. nonetheless i'd still rather have a backup vet to carry the load in case of an emergency..
oilerstruck 03-30-2007, 11:56 AM What kind of trade package could we offer the Lions to move up and draft McPhearson?
BigRed3 03-30-2007, 11:59 AM Who is McPhearson? The guy that T-Rac ran over?
oochymp 03-30-2007, 12:01 PM What kind of trade package could we offer the Lions to move up and draft McPhearson?
do you mean Adrian Peterson? trading from #19 to #2 would probably take a Ricky Williams type trade, it wouldn't be worth it no matter who was there.
wplatham 03-31-2007, 07:29 PM LOL, Did T-Rac ever get his tryout at DE?
