Madden cover usually is dictated by the type of additions they made to the game. Last year, they introduced a new running system, and so Shaun Alexander was on the cover. Two years ago they made major changes to the passing system, so McNabb was on the cover. Whoever makes the cover will most likely have to fit the changes they've made to the game this year.

Well it goes like this. Every year since Madden 05 the cover athleate had something to do with the improvement of the game.

05-Ray Lewis (Defensive playmaker addition)
06-Donavan McNabb (Passing cone and precision passing)
07- Shaun Alexander (highlight stick and lead blocking)

What is left to change? Will they go back to fixing the D?

So being non homerish and voting for Vince Young, even tho I want him to be on the cover and yet again proove people wrong and not get hurt and dismiss the "curse" im going to have to vote for Champ Bailey.

They dont really have any feature that allows u to do anything after the snap with the DB's and I think there gonna add something like CB vision when the ball is thrown.

I say put Pacman Jones on the cover. If the Madden curse really does exist, could it really affect Pac? How could his life get any worse? Would it have some sort of reverse effect and make his life get better? The world needs to know.

I'd actually say that VY has a pretty good chance at making the cover. He broke a few records as a rookie, turned around a losing season to end at 500 almost making the playoffs, and won ROY. He's got as good of a chance as anyone, but my bet is with Tomlinson.

That actually brings up an interesting question, if Pac is suspended for a year, should Madden make him available in the second year of franchise mode? we know they won't because it's EA and they've gotten lazy with football games, but I think it'd be amusing at least :yes:

It NEEDS to be Freeney or a DE because this game's DE's have been pointless. They're slow, have no moves and it sucks playing with a DE in superstar mode because of how inefficient they are.

What? DE are fairly easy to use. In All-Madden I have an end with 15 sacks. Now that is not crazy but he gets 10-15 a season and when it is all said and done his numbers will be one of the best ever to play.

It is all about your jump off the snap. Depending on the play you swing him out or swing him inside of the OL that is on you. Typically you can almost run right by the guy if you are quick enough. If he gets you spinning back the opposite direction usually breaks you loose but can put you out of position.

How long of games do you play with your DE? Full length? I only play 5 min quarters, so it's usually extremely hard to get anything done.
