Nashville would be better off in AA anyways playing Memphis and Chattanooga

I agree. But I don't know if they'll attract much until they build something new.

Who plays at that ballpark on the freeway in Chattanooga? Looks so close a few cars could get hit with a baseball.

Well, they really screwed the pooch
IT appears as of now , the ballpark will not be @ 1st and Gateway

if they want a new park, it looks like it will have to be in Franklin
because Metro voted 38-0 against extending

and the developer probably couldn't be happier. They are still trying to move ahead with their condo/hotles on the site

other options now include a new Amphitheater to replace Starwood (which would be bad for bus at the Arena just blocks away)

The Sounds just ain't ever got it right have they ?

The move gives the Sounds and Struever only until April 15 to find a way to solve their differences. At that time, the agreement between the Sounds, Struever and the city lapses. And no stadium will be built, at least in the near term.

Sad, that stadium being built was about the only hope of me ever really wanting to go to sounds games regularly. I hope they find something exciting to do with the land, it's a big spot.

Why were they spending so much on a freaking minor team's baseball park? Let them use some local highschool's or something.

Not too many high schools have parks which seat a few thousand.

Memphis is triple A.

I have read that if the city finds the sounds in default, they could let the developer go ahead and build the stadium, and then try to bring in a new team to play there.

Not to mention, I doubt a major league team wants its million dollar prospects having to use high school facilities.

The Sounds would be better off if they built a stadium down South like in Franklin. i know the Mayor would not mind.

that is not what it says
Streuver Bro.s really wants nothing to do with the ballpark anyway

there interest is in the Condo /Hotel / Retail development surrounding the park. Now, they've got a few more acres to build on.

building a ballpark to try and lure a minor league affiliate would be a bad business decision, .... unless they were trying to lure an MLB team here, and that's not the case

Yeah that stadium is a site to see. That the Lookouts (Reds) Stadium I believe. I know there's another stadium by that skate park, maybe they moved..

I know. Is there a need to seat a few thousand for a minor league game? I couldn't imagine more than 200 people showing up to those per game.
