Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that Commissioner Roger Goodell is expected to announce next week his decisions regarding Titans cornerback Pacman Jones and Bears defensive tackle Tank Johnson.

The problem with not reducing Pac's sentence is that EVERY conduct is that isn't stiffly punished adds credibility to Pac's argument. If the NFL dismisses the Pac's lack of precedent argument because Pac is the first, the NFL will be obligated to uphold the standard to all violators who follow (eg- possibly Vick).

Jones is appealing a one-year suspension, which could be shortened to 10 games.
the shortening was already a part of his suspension, that's not new.

I'm not sure what to expect here... If Goodell upholds his decision, I think he will lose a lot of respect and credibility as people begin to compare Pacman to Henry and Tank, and possibly Vick. But I almost feel like because he wanted to make such a statement with Pacman, that he hasn't left himself much room to back down. I think he knows that, which is part of the reason this is taking so long.
