View Full Version : Kevin Durant vs Greg Oden
DCtitan49 06-01-2007, 08:56 AM June 28 is the Draft day, both players are going to end up in the northwest one way or another, the only question is, which city, portland or seattle?
Portland picks 1st, seattle 2nd. I think the best possible place for Oden is definatly Portland, and for Durant i thought he would do very well in Boston, Durant reminds me of Tracy McGrady, and Oden reminds me of Tim Duncan, i would go with Oden, big men are somebody you can build a roster around, Durant doesnt have a set position.
I would choose Oden with the first selection, who would you guys choose, and explain.
Gunny 06-01-2007, 09:22 AM Oden is going to Portland, they are trying to work a deal to get another 1st rounder to get Conley as well.

:ha:
Carpy 06-01-2007, 11:37 AM I've noticed over here, all your maps are upside down anyway. Australia is actually on top of the world. You guys are so backwards........

TitanKid4Life 06-01-2007, 12:11 PM i choose durant, because he is one of those players that is just absolutely incredible.... kobe, lebron, wade, and maybe even MJ
bigtitan53279 06-01-2007, 12:42 PM gotta go with the big man
RyansTitans 06-01-2007, 01:00 PM Its bs that Portland is trying to get MCJR
We should try and get him somehow. We need a good scoring pointhuard and there ya go. Conley.
Although idk.. I like Daniel alot
Snookus 06-01-2007, 04:05 PM Oden is a great defender but a liability when you need him to score. If he worked on his offensive game I'd consider taking him over Durant. But if you watched Durant play throughout the season you'd realize what an incredible player he is. He truly is the next TMac, except he's a better defender and has a better jumper.
PAtitansfan53 06-01-2007, 07:16 PM being the next T-Mac isn't that great if you want to be injured every season and he is getting inconsistent.
Durant is better than T-Mac or will be I should say. He could be 1-2 with LeBron in a few years IMO.
But if I'm Portland I take Oden. Oden and Randolph inside with Branden Roy on the perimeter. If they get Conley as well you can put them in the playoffs.
Yeah I would like to see the Cav's get a point that can score and dish the rock.
Gunny 06-01-2007, 08:17 PM Don't forget Oden was playing with a bung wrist and mostly shot left handed.
If Portland take him, expect them to trade Randolph (since they have Aldridge) and get Conley.
PAtitansfan53 06-01-2007, 10:34 PM Good point ^.
DCtitan49 06-02-2007, 05:04 PM nah i think portland likes randolph, and randolph doesnt hate portland, they are attempting to build a franchise around Randolph, Aldridge, Jack, with Oden that could be a dangerous team.
Gunny 06-02-2007, 07:47 PM Pointless to have Oden, Randolph and Aldridge on the same team.
TitanKid4Life 06-02-2007, 07:51 PM does anyone kno if brandon wright is entering the draft, becasue hes from tennessee
Gunny 06-02-2007, 07:53 PM I think he pulled out.
BigRed3 06-02-2007, 08:03 PM Yes, Brandan Wright is entering the NBA Draft.
Gunny 06-02-2007, 08:04 PM ahh yes Hibbert pulled out.
PAtitansfan53 06-02-2007, 09:37 PM I wish Wright would pull out man him and Hansborough would be untouchable this year in UNC.........makes me sad thinking about him not being there.
RyansTitans 06-03-2007, 06:51 PM Hansborough is an excellent player. I wonder if he will be a top 10 pick
DCtitan49 06-03-2007, 07:56 PM hansborough will definatly be a top 10 pick when he enters, im thinking the wizards should trade there 1st this year, and have 2 next year, for the possibility to get hansborough.
BigRed3 06-03-2007, 08:08 PM What concerns me about Hansbrough is that he didn't really improve from his freshman to sophomore year, despite the fact that he had a better supporting cast in his sophomore year to take pressure off of him.
bulluck4dMVP 06-03-2007, 08:18 PM Hansbrough is overrated IMO. Very good college player but I don't see his game transitioning over to the NBA. He's undersized as a 4 but not athletic enough for a 3.
Back to the Oden/Durant debate though. I'm in the minority here. I'd take Durant.
DCtitan49 06-04-2007, 07:23 AM durant is undersized as a 4 and skinny as a 3, only thing he has on Hansborough is the athletisizm to a whole nother level.
bulluck4dMVP 06-04-2007, 01:46 PM Undersized as a 4? Durant is 6'10 or 6'11 atleast with freak athleticism. I haven't seen someone like him play college ball like he did this past year in a LONG time. Durant is the perfect 4 with the combo skill set of TMac & Dirk with a splash of KG mixed in. Kid is the truth.
BigRed3 06-04-2007, 03:11 PM It just sucks that he's going to a market like Seattle. Or Oklahoma City. Or wherever the hell they move that team

hes skinny as a twig and will get pushed around under the basket, he reminds me of Amare Stoudamire with the athletism, but he plays to much like a 3-forward, which reminds me of T-Mac. hes definatly not the perfect 4 at all, give him 30-40 more pounds of muscle then he will do well.
bulluck4dMVP 06-04-2007, 09:01 PM He's just as skinny as KG was coming out of high school which is only a year difference really. Putting 30 pounds on his frame will be easy IMO.
BigRed3 06-04-2007, 11:30 PM Especially in a league where the Steve Nash/Phoenix Suns style of basketball is starting to get more play than ever, Kevin Durant is a perfect fit to play the four in a run n' gun type offense.
DCtitan49 06-05-2007, 07:23 AM yea but when KG came in the league he wasnt a 3-pt shooter, durant doesnt play to his size enough, he plays like he is a shooting guard, kinda like Dirk, Oden is the clear better pick.
bigtitan53279 06-05-2007, 05:38 PM i just heard on pardon the interruption that durant couldnt do a single rep of 185 at his workout. not a single one. mike connely jr did 13 while weighing in at 175...
i can bench 185 a few times and i workout maybe once or twice a month.
