But is there anything out recently for either of the last 3 systems that's good? I just beat God Of War 2....is rocked of course. I guess I'll get Madden 08....but any ideas to tide me over till then?

I think some good games are about to roll on xbox 360. I am hopeful. Not any next gen type games. But some good to great games no less. And some arcade games are finally looking good too. I am looking forward to the next month or so. But even I must admit, this year has sucked for the most part. Nothing too exciting has come out for a while. But even Kingdom Under Fire has some potential this year. Well see.

He doesn't have a next gen system and asking about the 3 recent gen (PS2, X-Box, Gamecube) if any games are coming out.

I don't know anything coming out for PS2, but of the 3 listed that would be the only one that there will be new games made. XBOX stopped when the 360 came out, same with Gamecube.

No I pretty much have held that opinion long before 360 was announced (ask Puck). I like Halo as a game, but it is way over-rated.

I love Halo....and I've never played the multiplayer. I got it from very high reviews, high reviews praising the gameplay, storyline, graphics, etc. All of which are top notch imo, and not matched by really any FPS I've played, except maybe Half Life 2.

the story is linear and basic, Halo 2 ending sucked (was it even an ending?), gameplay is just a generic FPS.

Halo 1 didn't have a pathetic ending and that set up Halo 2.

Same can be said for most sequels.

It was pathetic, it wasn't even an ending. So enjoy the greatness of an incomplete game.

Doesn't matter. Games are usually good in one category or the next. They're either great multiplayers with decent campaigns or great campaigns with decent/no multiplayer. Multiplayer games get played FAR MORE than campaign games though, as they almost never get old. So to fault a game for being the best at the most entertaining form of gameplay is sort of silly, isn't it?

Call of Duty 2? Guarantee you don't have any campaigns that last beyond the 2nd time through. Nomatter what, replay value is always better in a multiplayer.
Storyline/campaign are one in the same. Gameplay is a given, you're just reaching now.

played mgs 2 and 3, both god of wars and final fantasy 7 and 8 three times each.

Gears of War is the best MATURE game of all time....IMO....I still play the crap out of the online multiplayer
