Pope said "the instruments of death were located on scene," but would not specify what those instruments are or where in the house the bodies were found. Pope added the department is "not actively searching for any suspects outside of the house."

WAGA reported that investigators believe Benoit killed his wife and son over the weekend, and then himself sometime Monday.

Beautiful.

Whatever happened to that Miss Elizabeth situation? Was she murdered?

There is NO WAY he killed his family then himself. I have been watching wrestling now for about 11 years. I grew up in a house of alot of Wrestling fans. Chris was a great man in and out of the ring. I watched him since his WCW days. There is just no way on Earth that I could believe he did this. There has to be something else that happened. Theres gotta be. I wont believe he did it

I used to love watching Benoit & though it's hard to believe, steroid abuse is notorious for triggering psychological disorders.

Tragic.

I work at a place that does the other wrestling show and alot of the guys who do that used to work for WWE. Haven't talked to them yet, but by the sound of it, Benoit killed his wife and child. Tragic, but the life you watch on tv is often completely different than that off. Sounds like some steroid issues.

RyansTitans, I was a fan of his too since the 90s, but you didn't know him. You knew his wrestling persona. Kinda makes it hard to miss him or to feel bad for him if he really did that.

Apparently, Chris Benoit strangled his wife and smothered his son before hanging himself.

And WWE ran a 3 hour tribute last night to a murderer.

Nice.

I know every year the day before Wrestlemania WWE has a Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. Last year, they inducted Eddie Guerrero, who died in 2005. But, do they induct Chris Benoit next year knowing that he's a murderer? I don't know.

I am at a loss for words. I never thought someone like him would do this. How can you sit there and just kill your son and wife. How can you bring yourself to doing that?

You have to remember that it is a character these guys are playing. I do work with TNA and do you think that Abyss is a homicidal maniac? He actually a super nice and gentle guy, almost shy.

First reports out are trying to link it to steriod use and "roid rage" and the depression associated with it.

I know that. Chris Parks is his name.

Believe me im not a wrestling freak and dont believe its all real I know this is all a show but all im trying to say is Benoit just never seemed to be a bad guy and always did the right thing in the ring and on his DVD that came out he seemed the same out of the ring also.

I just watched Fox News and they are not making any sence.

Wife killed Friday
Son killed Friday night or Saturday.
Benoit killed sometime Saturday night..

Chris called WWE on Sunday and told them he couldn't make the show. So how did he kill himself Saturday night.

What did the text messages say that he sent? Why did he put Bibles on the bed next to his wife and son?

I dont think he did it. I think something else was going on. I think he was forced to do it somehow. This is just too insane

I can not imagine a situation where I would be forced into doing that to my child and wife. Especially the child.

It's crap. Sure he was using steroids, but controlled. Absolutely illegal, but not roid rage. More to do with the hundreds of pain pills he is taking. Or was taking.

How does the WWE (or maybe wrestling, for that matter) come back from this? I don't think that non-wrestling fans have a sense of how big of a story this is. Chris Benoit is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, and he murdered a woman AND a child.

Or the simply fact that he was a murderous dick.

(as Blazing said above there's no situation in which I would harm my child or spouse... I don't care how much alcohol, cocaine, HGH, codeine whatever you pump through me, it just couldn't happen.)

If he did do this he'll never get any slack or empathy from me regardless of the circumstances surrounding the act.

Vince McMahon actually delivered sort of an apology tonight for the tribute show on Monday, and said that Chris Benoit's name wouldn't be mentioned anymore. Or something to that effect.

They are now saying Benoit apparently killed his son with the Crippler Crossface.

RyansTitans
07-03-2007, 07:27 AM
They are saying alot of things. None of them seem clear at all. One of them said he smothered Daniel with a some type of bag. Then they say he used his wrestling hold on him then I seen a story the other day about how Kevin Sullivan (Chris's wifes ex husband) could of killed them. Idk. Just too weird.

Chris's doctor is in jail along with that Wikipedia guy. The doctor got 7 charges or something like that.

Why is his doctor in jail?

I'm assuming (although I'm not an expert on American law, and it is less restrictive than say European law on this subject) that it's illegal to supply large and unwarranted quantities of steroids to your patients, which he allegedly did.

Dr. Phil Astin prescribed a 10-month supply of anabolic steroids to Chris Benoit every three to four weeks between May 2006 and May 2007, a Drug Enforcement Administration agent said in an affidavit filed Friday and made public Monday.

Benoit was a scumbag. Plain and simple. No better than any other child killer. Worse. It was his offspring.

Benoit's brain resembled that of an 85 year olds with Alzheimer's! That's crazy.

Glad the NFL is getting serious about concussions. I prefer for these players to be treated more as people than gladiators.

Hoffa

That's BS. So what? I haven't heard of any 85 year old Alzheimer's patients methodically murdering their families and then themselves.

Alex1939
09-07-2007, 12:44 PM
What's wrong with having this thread? I don't get the complaints...

Hoffa, I couldn't disagree more. You may be able to easily dismiss this and say "Benoit was just a psycho"... but for me, I find it hard to believe that an athlete with no criminal record, who did lots of charitable work, just one day went homicidal like he was a total psychopath his whole life?

I think it's very possible that series of head injuries led to dementia which factored into what happened.

I'm not saying I buy the article 100%. But something happened to make him go from the somewhat normal person he was to the murderer that he became basically overnight.

Whatever research can be done to help determine why that occurred has to be a good thing, hey if it can help someone else one day you know? Better than just saying "eh he was just a psycho, lets forget about it"

BigRed3
09-07-2007, 01:47 PM
I wasn't talking about this thread, I was talking about the story in general. It's just a downer to hear about this stuff over and over. Most of these television shows covering the incident are just trying to get ratings, and capitalize on a tragedy.

Hoffa
09-07-2007, 01:52 PM
Better than just saying "eh he was just a psycho, lets forget about it"
Oh, I'm not saying that. Something did go wrong with him, for sure.

We don't know how long he had been off track. No one knows for sure what's going on inside someone else's head. Although it may have appeared he was "normal" doing charitable work etc, inside he could have been quite the opposite. He could have had a psychopathic disorder that he wrestled with in secret for years. Finally, one day he gave in to the demons, or what he was hearing in his head.

I'm just saying having Alzheimer's or dementia does not drive you to do what he did. People with those disorders are not capable of methodically planning out the murders like he did.
