I just watched this & thought it was great.:thumb:
GoTitans3801 07-25-2007, 11:26 AM Not an old movie at all, but I really thought 28 days later was a great horror flick. I don't watch them that much, and generally see them as hokie, but I thought that one was really gripping, and entertaining, and scary.
Creeping-Cruds 07-25-2007, 02:32 PM Those old Peter Lorre flicks definitely weren't for kids.. Good selection!

I'll second that.. One of my faves of more recent times. The sequel was disappointing though..
GoTitans3801 07-25-2007, 03:59 PM I didn't see it, but probably will on dvd.
Event Horizon was one of the best scary movies I've seen in a theater. It was one that seemed much better in the theater to me.

I watched this in a theatre & about half way through I turned to my buddy & said that it was a load of crap & not scary at all. Seconds later as I looked back at the screen I jumped liked a bi@tch & threw popcorn everywhere.:ha:
Snookus 07-26-2007, 05:52 AM Dawn of the Dead 1978
Can't be beat.
Gunny 07-26-2007, 06:12 AM Saws are wack, not good enough effects and gfx, I could telll when **** was fake
Well that's not hard considering it is all fake.
Big TT 07-26-2007, 07:01 AM I love Horror but not slasher movies...Alien and Aliens, Prince of Darkness(one of Carpenters best but least known) and The Thing is really very good, more recently I think Darkness Falls was pretty decent.

Darkness Falls - NO! I wanted to throw a brick into the TV after renting that one..

Crash Override 07-27-2007, 11:26 AM Shaun of the dead was a great movie, you should check out their other movie hot fuzz. I like british flicks.
Gunny 07-27-2007, 11:28 AM I have never seen Dawn of the Dead and all that.
Hostel is a particularly gruesome, albeit terrible, horror movie.
Creeping-Cruds 07-27-2007, 12:38 PM Shaun of the dead was a great movie, you should check out their other movie hot fuzz. I like british flicks.

Crash Override 07-27-2007, 02:51 PM Selma Hayek was so hot in that movie.
Alex1939 07-30-2007, 05:19 PM For an older scary movie, check out "The Serpent and the Rainbow". It's a 1987 film starring Bill Pullman and directed by Wes Craven. It's set primarily in Haiti and New York City. The film's about voodoo and other black magic. It was VERY loosely based on real events.
It does have some cheesy 1987 effects that might make you laugh more than frighten you, but not throughout the film, only in a part or two. The concept of the movie is rather frightening, which adds a lot.

Only comforting thing about that movie was,
you CAN stop the music...

Is that also known as Braindead?
Creeping-Cruds 08-11-2007, 01:27 AM Is that also known as Braindead?
I think that's something different. Are you thinking of the one with Bill Pullman?
KamikaZ 08-11-2007, 04:08 AM Nah, Braindead is an alternative title I believe...
Childress79 08-11-2007, 07:57 AM Yeah it was known as Brain Dead over here.I had no clue what you were talking about until I saw the clip.
Well Blockbuster calls it DeadAlive, so I guess that's all I need to know
Creeping-Cruds 08-11-2007, 01:32 PM http://images.blockbuster.com/is/amg/dvd/cov150/drt000/t079/t07902sw8et.jpg
The Pullman movie would explain why they changed the title then...
avvie 08-11-2007, 02:32 PM Woww Bill pullman and Bill Paxton in the same movie?? I always thought they were the same guy!!
Creeping-Cruds 08-11-2007, 03:17 PM Woww Bill pullman and Bill Paxton in the same movie?? I always thought they were the same guy!!
Pullman is a little bit more Nawthern than Texas-boy Paxton.. Pullman is usually the perfect victim while it's hard to forget Paxton's bad-boy roles in Near Dark and Boxing Helena.. He does a pretty good schmuck at times as well..
