Here's the rules:
-List the ONE SINGLE MOVIE that you would say is your all time favorite.
-Don't list more than one movie.
-The first knucklehead that lists more than one movie is subject to ridicule by all the other participants..
-By all means tell us why you love this movie, post the lobby poster and so forth, but only list one movie.

DC's (get it BCS, DC'S) #1 Movie ALL-TIME:

iRobot- everyone here probably thinks im crazy, but IMO iRobot is the best movie all time, casting my favorite actor, this movie touches alot of good points, and is action packed, can relate to sci-fi watchers as well as alot of others.

and 1 question, how does 1 win this game, i mean there is rules and what not...

I'm not sure but I can tell you how to NOT win the game. That's easy... pick a Fresh Prince Hollywood suckfest like iRobot..

ONE MOVIE ONLY DARNIT!!:grrr: :))

People liked Crash and it won Oscars etc. but honestly I thought it was over-hyped and like I said in another thread, a prior movie - Magnolia was basically the same "intersecting lives and stories" theme but a far better movie to me anyway.

PS. You are talking about "Crash" with Matt Dillon and not David Cronenberg's "Crash"? Man that movie was freaky as hell..

Naw, huh-uh....not doin' it.
I can think of some serious faves within a genre, but not one all-encompassing favorite. I'd have to pick a fave genre if I did that, and I don't have one.

It's just nice to see somebody pick a classic or at least something that didn't come in the last 2 years (or something that has a 3 or a 4 on the end of it)...

If I had to pick one it would be Pulp Fiction.

It is one of my favorite movies but I thought it was ground breaking at the time. The dialog was outstanding, people love to quote Pulp Fiction lines & some of them have become part of my everyday conversation.

It was the first film to go back & forth looking at the story from viewpoint different characters. IMO movies like Go,Magnolia,Crash,Smoking Aces,Traffic etc wouldn't have been made had Pulp Fiction not broke the mould.

Kick arse soundtrack.

It also revitalized the careers of Travolta & Willis & made a star out of Samuel L Jackson.

Finally I say goddarn that's a pretty good effin movie.

Out of every movie ever filmed, iRobot is the choice??????

Have you seen other movies? Independence Day doesn't count.

"The Lost City" directed by Andy Garcia is one great flick. 1950's Cuba pre-Castro and during Revolution. Music is amazing.

Titanic - Took me someplace I could otherwise not go. You don't just watch Titanic, you experience it. It won eleven academy awards. It had the most oscar nominations in history. DiCaprio, Winslet, Paxton, and Zane all hit their mark. Musical Score was on. Visually, stunning.

I, robot actually tackles some very interesting themes, but most people missed them as they are not discussed in the movie because the action is the primart focus. But I agree too. It is usually in my top 20 and is underappreciated.

one of the most overrated movies in the past 20 years.

If you don't explain why, then why bother.

The story could not have been written better... The juxstaposition of rich and poor, the gender roles played out unto death (women first), the stoicism and nobility of a bygone age, the magnificence of the great ship matched in scale only be the folly of the men who drove her hell-bent through the darkness. And above all the lesson: that life is uncertain, the future unknowable... the unthinkable possible.

it was too long. the acting in it was too over the top, especially by decaprio. the love story just was not engaging at all.

everyone says it's so great, i didn't feel a damn thing when i watched it. great movies are supposed to leave you astounded, not leave you looking at your watch thinking "my God, three hours and it isn't done yet?!"

Raging Bull...Single most facinating character study ever captured on film IMO, and by far the most powerful piece of cinema dealing with envy, pride, jealousy, and paranoia. Like Roger Ebert said once, this is the modern Othello of our time...

I'm with you on Titanic, when DiCaprio was in the water I kept thinking for eff's sake just die already. I expected a lot from him after watching his stunning performance in What's Eating Gilbert Grape, what a let down.

Saving Private Ryan or Gladiator....?

Saving Private Ryan without doubt. Gladiator, as awsome as it was, the highlite was in the beginning. I got my moneys worth during the Roman victory over the Germans ...

"Ooh, the Germans are mad at me. I'm so scared! Oooh, the Germans!"

But Saving Private Ryan, other than than Speilberg cheating at the beginning, started great was great throughtout and ended great.

SIN CITY.

I love the way color was used in the film. It is also gory, action-packed, and full of dirty words. I really enjoy how it's such a unique film. A good movie to watch on a bad day when you just want to punch someone. Oh and Jessica Alba and Brittany Murphy look smoking in the movie.
