Creeping-Cruds 08-01-2007, 11:02 PM Shaun is a smart comedy all the way around - from the brilliant writing to the outstanding performances to the killer soundtrack. And the crazy thing is that it's a great horror movie too... Watch it 5 times and it's 5 times better.. I dig all the little references to classic zombie films throughout, from "They're coming to get you, Barbara" to "Foree" Electronics, etc.. Better stuff than any of the pathetic Hollywood CGI fests that everyone seems to think are good movies these days.. PS Just picked up Hott Fuzz tonight... The Gloat 08-03-2007, 08:08 PM Man, did I just not give Shaun of the Dead enough time? The humor was soooo freaking corny I had to change the channel when it was on. Maybe lasted 30 minutes with it. Everything about the first 20-30 mins was pure cheese though, like 3rd graders came up with the 'funny' parts. KamikaZ 08-05-2007, 11:16 AM wow.. to each his own.. The humor in Hot Fuzz is a lot subtler, and is a better overall movie. Better put together, and the last 20 minutes or so was hilarious as the parody basically become what it was satirizing.
