however, the rumor I hear is that it'll be late September before these roll out, but they could be anounced at the "event" August 7th that supposedly is to unveil the new iMacs

I expect the next video ipod will look somewhat similar, kind of like the iphone. It almost has to be full-screen.

Possibly a bit ($50?), but the current iPod starts at $250 now and it used to be $300 a year and a half ago.

I have the iPhone and while it has it's quirks, the touchscreen is great. I think it is a no brainer to have it applied to the new ipod.
