Heard tonight from a reliable source that Roydell was offered to Denver with another player for Warren, but Denver wanted draft picks.. not sure what's in the works with Chicago.. anybody hear anything about this??

I have to confess that I'd be pretty pissed if Gage and Moulds are on the opening day roster at the expense of Roydell or Courtney.

I'd read that we were offered Warren but were not interested.

The Titans kind of backed themselves into a corner to where they almost have to try and trade one of their WRs. Signing Moulds and Gage (giving Gage $400,000 to sign was dumb) and then drafting 3 WRs when you already have 3 3rd year guys forces them to cut some decent players. P. Williams and Davis are locks to make the roster because of how early they were drafted and not only do they have Filani as a 6th round pick Ealy might be one of our better rookies as an UDFA. We even still have Orr.

I would say our three best WRs right now might be Jones, Moulds and Roby in the slot with R. Williams maybe in the mix but the difference in R. Williams and Gage might be minimal which makes R. Williams the odd man out.

My WR Core "less than"

Jones > Roby > Gage > R. Williams > Moulds
----------------------------------------------
> P. Williams > Ealy > Davis > Filani > Orr

we definatly needed moulds, gage i have no idea why we signed him, hes just a wasted roster spot that in my opinion will be cut come opening day...

Moulds will probably start with Jones.
Here is my list based on probability of making the team (not based on who is better).

Jones>Moulds>P. Williams>Davis>R. Williams=Roby=Gage>Ealy>Filani>Orr

Chow talked like Roydell was coming into camp the top WR. I have no idea what he based that on from what I've seen in camp and the preseason but let's hope he does well these last two preseason games.

It doesn't matter who starts because the talent level is such that Chow will likely rotate in fresh WRs throughout the game. Young doesn't have a go-to guy at WR so I expect the ball will be spread out among a number of guys.

Pre game 104.5 guys just said on radio that roydell and roby likely are cuts... hard to believe

Roby has been quiet in preseason. Roydell played well tonight, he'll be on the team.

Yep. Roydell has secured his spot after last night. I'd be more questioning of Roby.

Gage and Ealy made strong cases for themselves. Moulds still looks secure despite one catch thus far, but I do suppose anything can happen.

I agree with Sox -- it was silly to give Gage $400K to sign.

Another thought about Roby: given what I've seen so far, he's still probably the best KO returner.

They were right...many tough decisions to make.

is it possible that last night was used to show him off to teams who might be interested in trading for him??

Sure, that's possible.

But do you think he's legitimately better or legitimately worse than Gage, Ealy and Roby?

If he's better, it's weird we'd be prepared to deal one of our top 3 wideouts, when we need them. Keep in mind, Gage, Moulds, Paul Williams, Davis, Filani and Ealy have not been evaluated up close by this team except for camps and the preseason, and a pretty good argument can be made that so far, in a head-to-head comparison with Gage and Moulds, Williams has performed better thus far.

It's possible, but I'll play the odds and bet that we keep him. I see Jones, Williams and Moulds as our primary starters.

We don't have a clear cut WR at all, I don't think we have the luxury to trade anyone who might be decent/good.

I threw my statement out there just to see what others may think. Whether or not they trade him will depend on what someone is offering. We have a stable of WR's although none are showing much. If someone gives the Titans a player that we need (position wise) then the Titans may deal him in hopes the other WR's step it up.

roby is as good as gone. we haven't even tried to get him some kickoff return opportunities.
