Read on the Jags' board that Leftwich is visiting Nashville. Looks like Fisher might be trying to get one up on the competition.

GoTitans3801 09-02-2007, 07:06 PM It's not uncommon for a division rival to sign a castoff, keep them for a day or two to get as much out of them as possible, and then cut them.
here's something bongo posted on titanscentral. he got it from a jags board.
And I quote him, "I hate to drag this on but felt that I needed to pass this along. I rarely post on hear and when I do I do it with the utmost integrity. I am not one for making things up for I truly do not care what one's opinion of me is. Now with that said, a very close friend of Byron's has informed me that Del Rio told the team that Byron would no longer be a Jaguar because he did not want to stay on as the second string but told Byron that he would be traded or released and would not be kept on the team. Upon hearing this several jaguars became enraged and started to throw things in the locker room. Byron also said to Del Rio that they both knew Del Rio was going to do this and that Del Rio could have had more class and done this earlier. They had a brief argument after Del Rio responded with a sarcastic smirk to Leftwich's statements. I genuinely wish the best for Garrard and the Jaguars. I hope we win the superbowl but I hope this does not effect the rest of the team's trust in Del Rio. The whispers will travel as to what really happened and I hope this does not effect the team chemistry. I also hope that Garrard does not analyze what happened and begin to think that the same could be coming for him as it is known that Del Rio wanted to draft Brady Quinn"
if this is true then BL coming here could very well be just a way of sticking it to the jags. VY is young and there's the possibility of injury and he'll get to learn from chow for a year maybe... but mostly it seems like it'd be his way of sticking it to the jags. Colts have manning and the texans suck so that leaves us.

Soxcat 09-02-2007, 09:21 PM How is Lefty coming here and carrying a clipboard and VYs jock going to be "sticking it to the Jags"? I don't see where coming to TN is a good move for him at all. He would be better playing for the vet minimum somewhere else like KC or Minnesota.
I guess waving from the Titans sidelines at Del Rio is going to somehow be sticking it to them? I don't think so. I'm not really sure Lefty is even better than Collins either. We are talking about an 80 QB rating QB who can't move and is always hurt.

maybe b/c he knows their entire playbook and offensive signals and calls and strategy... everything... going to KC or Min wouldn't be much better at this time b/c there's no way he'd be able to learn the playbook and get a starting job. he'll be a backup where ever he goes... i'm not saying it'll happen but i wouldn't be surprised if it did either. if he's upset at how it ended then tn would be the best place for him to go especially w/ our history.

RollTide 09-12-2007, 10:39 AM Too good to be true..
If lefty wants to be a career backup this is a great place to be but i doubt that. What an awesome backup to have!
He better stay as far away from baltimore as he can get. detroit is the place for him or maybe kansas city.
