I'm a huge Alien fan.. and I like the original Predator as well, but I wish they would continue the Alien series solo. AVP was a huge drop-off in quality vs all the other films.

The trailer looks like it could be good but it is kind of sacrilege what they're doing.

There's a hydrid predator-Alien in the movie. To me that's just stupid.

Arnold's Predator is a classic.Alien was a special film.

In 10 years time they could still be churning out AVP meaningless sequels.

This AVP thing...I watched the first one, and took it for what it was: somebody was cleaning out the costume warehouse at the studios and asked if those should be thrown out. Right at that moment, a director happened to walk by on his way back from a bonghit break...

It's too much... Predator was amazing because there was planning and outsmarting... it's become too much just running around shooting at things at random...

This whole hybrid bit makes no sense. The host creatures are only incubators...there's no genetic mixing involved.
The hybrid in Alien iv was the result of genetic splicing experiments. If there's any hybrids in this film, then they got lots o' splainin todoo. :yes:

3 indeed alludes to the alien to take on characteristics of the host. While they don't specifically say it's a dog it appears to have dog features. Low and behold in the special cut of the Alien box set they show that the alien has been "birthed" from an ox (a space ox?). So is it a dog or an ox?

I've never seen any Aliens movies. Seen AVP. The trailers for the new one looks quite gory.

Never seen Aliens? Well get to rentin! Alien and Aliens are both excellent movies. The later movies were ok, but the first two are must see movies.

AVP was pretty good, even with some stale acting. Not expecting a lot from this sequel.

The original Ridley Scott film was excellent! Repeatedly cashing in in the franchise devalues it exponentially...it's too bad you were exposed to the end before the beginning, because you won't feel what we felt when watching it.

It's still a classic, and like a lemming, I will watch anything that has do with it.

You cannot go wrong with Alien. One of a few rare horror or scifi flicks that you don't have to suspend disbelief which makes it so much more scary. Very tense, great acting.. 3 thumbs up!

2nd to Alien I would pick the 82 version of The Thing as favorite SciFi flick..

Finally saw this today.

If I was watching it with no idea of the history of both the franchises I guess I'd have said it wasn't that bad apart from the fact that it has no f'ing plot! Arrrgh.

The problem was that I do know what came before this.The Predator time line is fine but humans don't encounter the first 'Aliens' until 2122.

That movie was awful. You are right no freaking plot or point for that matter. I'm sorry I even saw it.

Which is a damn shame because all the Alien movies up the first came along did have plots. What was once a quality franchise has now gone down the toilet.

Which is why the series is already garbage. Alien and Aliens are classic movie s with enough plot and unique sci-fi elements to make them into superb films. Even Alien3 and Alien Resurrection were better than these absolute turds.

Just because a movie is in a certain genre should garner it absolute **** expectations...

The point of the movie was to see two classic franchises go nuts over each other.

I just watched the movie and it is what it is...a "b" movie. Enjoyable and forgettable. Why anyone would go into it thinking it was going to live up to the original Alien is beyond me. Plus not any sillier than that Alien Resurrection movie with the half human/half alien thing.

I'm a big fan of the Alien series and like them all. The first one was great. IMO, Alien 2 was the best one, maybe because the eerie sound those trackers made as the military was searching for the aliens & victims. That sound alone made the film more sinister.

They ruined any chance of continuing the Alien saga by mixing in Predator, which wasn't a great movie to begin with.

I really think this whole idea came about when somebody was asked to throw out the old costumes in the studio basement and some stoned janitor found both of these suits at the same time.

I think it came about due to the popularity of a video game or comic that pitted to 2 against each other.
