View Full Version : "Here he comes.... avvie 12-23-2007, 02:03 PM ...Here comes Speed Racer!" Had to happen sometime. http://imdb.com/title/tt0811080/trailers-me60811758 Starkiller 12-23-2007, 10:29 PM The trailer looks pathetic... Puck 12-23-2007, 10:30 PM needs some wine to go with all that cheese Thank You Hollywood, for massacring another childhood icon BigRed3 12-23-2007, 10:40 PM That does look pretty awful avvie 12-23-2007, 10:46 PM I was never a big Speed Racer fan, but I know that many of my online peers were. I feel for you. Sappersis 12-23-2007, 11:07 PM i was going to marry racer x :( tut tut tut GoT 12-23-2007, 11:07 PM http://www.cinematical.com/media/2006/06/RacerX.jpg Maybe Racer X will come to Speeds rescue? Starkiller 12-23-2007, 11:47 PM I never really cared much about Speed Racer so I'm not too put out. But it does look awful. I'm waiting for them to massacre one of my childhood favorites: GI Joe. BTW, I just downloaded the TV miniseries/movie from the 80's where Cobra had the Weather Dominator. I bet that ends up being better than the upcoming movie... GoT 12-23-2007, 11:49 PM lol just read your Marx quote Gunny 12-24-2007, 12:26 AM I don't get what people want with cartoons into movies. Do you want already done stuff? Kinda pointless if you know what will happen, how it will happen, who it will happen to etc. avvie 12-24-2007, 12:44 AM People don't want them Gunny. Hollywood is run by boneheads. Underdog went over like a turd in a punchbowl. Sappersis 12-24-2007, 12:46 AM yes but the quality was just that. A well done remake wouldn't bother me but it needs to be well done. Starkiller 12-24-2007, 01:26 AM They have been making movies out of old TV shows and comics and cartoons and older movies for decades now. Nothing new. Even Beowulf, which was an ancient story, is anything but original. I don't mind it as long as the movie is good. I certainly would prefer a little originality, but even a remake that is good is fine by me. Puck 12-24-2007, 02:27 AM Superman Spiderman Transformers Star Wars (specifically, Episode One) Masters of the Universe (He-Man) Dungeons and Dragons Underdog Rocky and Bullwinkle Fantastic Four X-Men The Flinstones and probably several more ...... smacked upside the head with Hollywood's ugly stick Puck 12-24-2007, 02:30 AM yes but the quality was just that. A well done remake wouldn't bother me but it needs to be well done. at least Batman and Lord of the Rings are being handled properly Gunny 12-24-2007, 04:19 AM at least Batman and Lord of the Rings are being handled properly That's just the thing. Batman is nothing like the comics. Burton never followed the comics, and Nolan is doing his own thing. It's not being handled properly in the sense that it is following the comics, but most people love it. Is it because it is a good movie? avvie 12-24-2007, 06:44 AM We've matured a bit as an audience, so this Batman fits. He's more the product of Frank Miller now. Childress79 12-24-2007, 09:00 AM I've never seen speed racer the cartoon but the movie looks like a turd. Starkiller 12-24-2007, 10:12 AM Superman Spiderman Transformers Star Wars (specifically, Episode One) Masters of the Universe (He-Man) Dungeons and Dragons Underdog Rocky and Bullwinkle Fantastic Four X-Men The Flinstones and probably several more ...... smacked upside the head with Hollywood's ugly stick definitely many more. And then you can start counting the old TV shows: Adams Family The Fugitive Get Smart Beverly Hillbillies Bewitched ...... and so on... GoTitans3801 12-28-2007, 09:41 AM I'm fine with remakes that make changes, as long as they make for a good movie. I love the new batman, whether or not it sticks to the comics. So many are just made for money, and the results are just crap for everyone. Deuce Wayne 12-28-2007, 08:58 PM Yep, as soon as I saw the first 3 seconds of this preview I was rolling my eyes... ...but I was watching Alvin and the Chipmunks at the time, so what can I say? I've got kids! LT21Titans27 12-28-2007, 09:05 PM Wow, just Wow, theyre going to ruin it avvie 12-29-2007, 01:58 AM What's with casting the serious dork with the bassett-hound attitude as SR? Blazing Arrow 12-29-2007, 03:02 AM They need to make a Mask movie ... and no not the mutant boy with sher but the one where the cars turn into cool things. "Lifter on!" Speed Racer looks like a pile but I can not say I dug the show to much. To much "ho ho ha ha go get'm speed" for me. :suspect: Plus 50% of the shows were just cuts from other shows or the same episode. Starkiller 12-29-2007, 10:48 AM They need to make a Mask movie ... and no not the mutant boy with sher but the one where the cars turn into cool things. Give it a little time, eventually it will happen. Blazing Arrow 12-29-2007, 05:42 PM Give it a little time, eventually it will happen. Yeah but by that time the '85 Firebird will be out of style ... :grrhee: Posibly even the mullet :banned: avvie 12-29-2007, 05:54 PM Tghat reminds me: Knight Rider is being remade also, this time featuring a 2007 Mustang as Kitt. Blazing Arrow 12-29-2007, 06:19 PM Tghat reminds me: Knight Rider is being remade also, this time featuring a 2007 Mustang as Kitt. I wounder how much Ford schelled out for that? Better at least be the Cobra. CNYTitanFan 12-30-2007, 01:11 PM Tghat reminds me: Knight Rider is being remade also, this time featuring a 2007 Mustang as Kitt. No one can eat a burger like Hasselhoff. :ha: avvie 12-31-2007, 12:59 AM Oh SNAP! Man, If I was Hasselhoff and my heyday was KR and Baywatch, I'd stay effed up as a can of worms too. Puck 01-02-2008, 02:19 PM I wounder how much Ford schelled out for that? Better at least be the Cobra. it is ... and it's ugly wonder why they didn't go for this http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f169/andy2_v/Posting/muscle1.jpg Starkiller 01-02-2008, 03:27 PM They want something they can sell in 2008... Gunny 01-02-2008, 06:50 PM :ha: Puck 01-02-2008, 07:27 PM They want something they can sell in 2008... whatdayamean ? certainly you're not suggesting that the basis of KITT is to sell cars Gunny 01-02-2008, 07:35 PM That's the only reason companies like Ford invest in movies. To expose ready made products. It's just another form of advertising. Starkiller 01-02-2008, 10:10 PM Heaven forbid... Just look at Transformers. It was just a huge US military/GM commercial. Hell, watch Ford add the KITT/Cylon eye as an add-on for the car... avvie 01-03-2008, 01:38 AM Speaking of Cylon Eye, I wish I had that as a screensaver...that is, one that didn't turn into a Sci-Fi ad after 5 seconds. Gunny 06-08-2008, 05:44 AM http://au.movies.ign.com/articles/870/870907p1.html IGN gave it 4.5/5 Deuce Wayne 06-08-2008, 05:06 PM Man, I hope that's not really the 2011 trans-am. It's been my favorite american car (i only have 2 that I remotely like or would buy), but that is pretty ugly. |
