I have a Toshiba hd-dvd which normally plays dvd's just fine. When a dvd starts, it says that it's changing to the resolution the dvd is set up for. Well I got an old dvd for the tv movie [I]The Stand[I] (early 90's maybe?) and the picture is very choppy.

Any idea how I should try and change anything on the setup of the hd-dvd player? I can't remember the exact details on all this 24hz, 30 fps, 60 fps, etc stuff.

does it have automatic settings ?
you might want to turn off 120hz if its on
what is it outputting ? back it off to 720p and see if that helps, I've seen where some say it helps with some games

I'll mess around with it when Blockbuster sends me part 2 of the movie. Hopefully tomorrow. I did try turning off 120 hz.

That's what you get for scrimping & buying a Toshiba.:moon2: :))

I didn't scrimp, it was a gift :))

But I will say it's been a lot better than my regular old dvd player. Too bad there won't be any more high def movies made for it.
