I must have missed it when it happened, but I caught it on Real Sports last night. Truly a sad, unfortunate event. I thought that I'd post it just in case others hadn't heard about it either.
Coolbaugh, 35, dies after being struck by ball (http://sports.espn.go.com/minorlbb/news/story?id=2945798)
1st and 3rd base coaches are now required to wear helmets, but this would not have saved him as the ball struck him [at around 100 mph] below his right ear, rupturing the artery.
This story states he was in the 1st base coaches box, but the video I saw last night shows different.
