Can. Not. Wait.

avvie 05-05-2008, 01:11 PM Saw that last night before Iron Man... Nice, but it made me feel like I'd seen the whole movie...a bit too much in one trailer.
It should be awesome though. Do I see the emergence of TwoFace in this one?
KamikaZ 05-05-2008, 01:58 PM "Kill...the Batman"
Yeah, Aaron Eckhart (sp?) plays Harvey Dent, who is Two-Face.
Yossarian 05-05-2008, 02:02 PM and Harvey's face pressed against concrete with gasoline all around him was probably a spoiler for how it'll go down
Gunny 05-05-2008, 05:32 PM Everyone knows he is Two Face though so it's no real surprise.
PitBull 05-05-2008, 05:43 PM Looks a little too serious for a batman sequel. I liked it more when tommy lee jones played two-face and Jim Carey was riddler.. now that was a classic.
Gunny 05-05-2008, 05:54 PM classic load of tripe...
I'm really liking Heath Ledgers portrayal of the Joker though. His laugh is freaky.
Yossarian 05-05-2008, 07:01 PM Ledger's performance will go down as a classic
avvie 05-06-2008, 01:00 AM It's a shame that Ledger won't be able to reap the benefits from this one :(
GoTitans3801 05-06-2008, 06:49 AM I can't wait to see what they make two face actually look like. The description sounds unreal. Ledger as the joker is really really impressive.
This series is so much better than any of the earlier batman movies, it's not fair.
Gunny 05-06-2008, 06:51 AM I think the Keaton Batman's were really good.
GoTitans3801 05-06-2008, 09:14 AM They were certainly the closest... but I still think these are much better.
Starkiller 05-06-2008, 11:31 AM I can't wait to see what they make two face actually look like.

Maybe?

Maybe?
Certainly?
GoTitans3801 05-06-2008, 01:00 PM Now that is crazy... I'm ready for this to come out...
Deuce Wayne 05-06-2008, 02:18 PM I thought Ledger would do well with the joker role, but after this he just comes off as dull, boring, and uninspired.
Actually, his vocals throughout the trailer were a drag. No emotion.
Which sucks, because I was hyping him up thinking he'd do it justice.

you really are backwards aren't you
Deuce Wayne 05-06-2008, 03:51 PM Just harder to impress than most the herd, I suppose. Not the type that's swayed by pretty colors, media hype, or exaggerations due to death.
Standards. That's the word.
GoTitans3801 05-06-2008, 04:29 PM Arbitrary, and over the top are the words to describe you.
True, I haven't seen the movie yet, but the stuff from the trailers looks like a great job portraying the joker. It looks like Ledger makes him believable, yet scary, which is a ridiculously difficult thing to accomplish for that kind of character. If you think that he looks boring, and like he portrays no emotion, then I don't know what the heck you're looking for. I'd rather have this realistic person than a cartoonish character any day.
Having standards is one thing. Trying to make yourself feel smart by being critical of everything is completely different.
Deuce Wayne 05-06-2008, 05:35 PM Doesn't have to be cartoonish or over the top to be memorable. Personality, character development. Those are important.
I think high of myself as an actor though, so when I see something I could do easy, I'm critical. I do think Ledger is getting the Tupac treatment though. I always thought he was underrated, but now that he's dead people are going to over rate the heck out of him. He could have farted on camera, and it'd have been the greatest fart of all time, now that he's gone.

Funniest Glote comment EVER!

You think high of yourself at everything.

Chris Johnson? :grrhee:
Deuce Wayne 05-06-2008, 05:57 PM haha. No, all that other is what god gave me to make up for the absence of a Johnson.
Pros and cons. Pros and cons.

Ledger's performance before he died was being praised left and right - I like his performance for several reasons, but the main reason is that I think it most resembles what "I" imagine the Joker would be like - a pure psychopath. a man who cares nothing for the standards of the world, but instead has made up his own rules to live by and in doing so has become completely immoral, antisocial and gravely misunderstood.
Hedger's death was unfortunate and will probably overshadow his great performance.
Deuce Wayne 05-06-2008, 10:47 PM I'm not going to judge too much by a 3 minute trailer. As I hope they're hiding his performance more than showcasing it here.
I just hope the trailer is no indication of what he put in to the character.
Creeping-Cruds 05-06-2008, 10:53 PM Let's let the movie come out before giving anyone an academy award or pushing them under a truck..

that'd make too much sense.
Yossarian 05-08-2008, 01:46 PM that'd make too much sense.
says the man who wanted to push C. Johnson and the GM under the bus right after the draft
or remind us of another wasted first round pick
bigtitan53279 05-08-2008, 01:55 PM and still do.
you don't draft complimentary player in the first round, but that's for a another thread.

rushing to judgment about him being purely a complimentary player?
bigtitan53279 05-08-2008, 06:29 PM if he were considered a full-time starter he would have gone in the top 15.
heimerdinger himself said he would not be a starter.
Gunny 05-08-2008, 11:53 PM Don't ruin my Batman thread else I will cry.
onetontitan 05-09-2008, 12:41 AM I heard Ironman was awesome lol. But, why so serious, everyone? TDK is going to kick arse

the point remains that you're trying to assign absolutes to something before you've seen that something in it's finality
avvie 05-09-2008, 10:12 PM Check this out:
http://www.sparehed.com/2008/04/29/why-so-similar/
GoTitans3801 05-10-2008, 09:05 AM That's pretty cool, Avvie. That has to either be intentional, or known about. There's no way that they would just make so many similarities to the structure of the original trailer.
That being said, I like the look of the new one better.
Gunny 05-10-2008, 09:48 AM I love the Joker's laugh. It's hair raising.
As for the same trailers, I think you will find a lot of Super hero movies have similar styled trailers.
- The hero jumping from a high place onto the ground/car/something.
- Villian doing something evil
- Hero and Villian going at each other.
- Always a woman involved (if man is a hero)
- Always a woman and villian clip.
I think they just follow a certain style.
avvie 05-10-2008, 05:37 PM That's pretty cool, Avvie.
What's not cool is that the other trailer was released almost half of my effing lifetime ago!

if it makes you feel better, the original was released the year i was born
:grrhee:
Apple Gooncha 05-18-2008, 10:08 PM That's not an original '89 Batman trailer. Someone re-edited the clips from it to make it work with TDK trailer. ;)
avvie 05-19-2008, 12:03 AM WHOA!! Man, NUTHIN' gets by you, does it?!!
;)
