View Full Version : The Trilogy Poll - Indiana Jones
Gunny 05-14-2008, 08:42 PM I thought this might be fun. Get a poll going on various movie trilogies and see which ones are the favourites.
This week (because it was on last night) is the Indiana Jones trilogy.
Which one was your favourite?
Kid Gloves 05-14-2008, 08:55 PM Actually, it's Indiana Jones and the SSA [Social Security Administration]. It finds Indy fighting for that check each and every month.
Seriously, Raiders of the Lost Ark was the best though I do like something about each of them.
onetontitan 05-14-2008, 09:13 PM I liked temple of doom because of the funny asian kid that would be like "DOCTOR JONES!"
KTOWN TITAN 05-14-2008, 09:15 PM Crusade had them both beat.
onetontitan 05-14-2008, 11:48 PM yeah but they didn't have the funny asian kid
Starkiller 05-14-2008, 11:54 PM Raiders is the only classic in the bunch.
Crusade was fun but not as good as the original.
bigtitan53279 05-15-2008, 12:18 AM crusade was easily my favorite as a kid.
Gunny 05-15-2008, 02:26 AM They are really good movies, rare that you get three good ones. I hope the new one is the same.
It's hard to chose one above the rest. But I went Crusade. Sean Connery was pretty funny as his father.
Childress79 05-15-2008, 08:56 AM I chose Crusade.
It's a shame Connery wanted too much money to reprise his role in the new one.I'm glad Karen Allen is coming back.
Gunny 05-15-2008, 09:23 AM I thought Connery retired years ago.
JMB54 05-15-2008, 11:01 AM I went with Crusade because I liked Connery in it with Indiana.
Yossarian 05-15-2008, 04:03 PM Crusade for the win!
Michi40 05-22-2008, 01:50 PM I voted Raiders, but Crusade is really really close to it.
Alex1939 05-22-2008, 02:03 PM Hmm, for me it's Raiders of the Lost Ark, no contest.
The woman in Raiders, I dunno, I've always found something about her irresistably attractive. Even though the blonde in Crusades is amazingly hot and would probably win any contest between the three heroines, I just have something for the first one.
That's not the only reason I like Raiders best, but it helps.
nickmsmith 05-22-2008, 02:44 PM Crusade was my favorite, I hated Temple of Doom, and the new one, which I saw last night, is extremely cheesy, with aliens and CG monkeys. George Lucas has lost his mind.
KTOWN TITAN 05-23-2008, 12:02 PM I watched the new one last night. I think it is a entertaining movie. It had a few moments that made you shake your head. The "Tarzan" scene should have been cut. I was embarrassed for Lucas. To much CG in this movie. Live action stunts helped make the originals so much fun. Some of the stuff in this one just looked "fake". It started strong but came limping across the finish line. Better than Temple of Doom but falls behind the rest. AHHHH the first half of this movie was so good but it crashed in the end. Hard. 7/10 but only because it was Indiana Jones.
George Lucas has lost his mind.
I agree. and I feel Spielberg has lost his too
honestly, when you put 2 of the best filmmakers together and they still come up with crap, they've got to have lost their minds
maximus 05-29-2008, 09:20 AM Last Crusade and Lost Ark are about equal IMO. Temple of Doom is just stupid
avvie 05-29-2008, 12:20 PM Rotla
Vigsted 05-29-2008, 01:20 PM Had to go with the last crusade, the Ford/Connery combination was just too good.
Starkiller 06-01-2008, 05:05 PM Just got home from seeing it. Big disappointment. I'd say it was the worst of the 4. Lots of parts that were good, but it was weak as a whole.
ammotroop 06-01-2008, 05:55 PM I liked it.....but I am easily entertained.
Vigsted 06-02-2008, 02:38 PM Well I thought it was a good movie, but it could just as easily have been labelled National Treasure or Tomb Raider or something entirely different. Aside from Ford it didn't have the Indy feel, imo. I liked the tributes to Denholm Elliot and Connery though.
Michi40 06-03-2008, 03:19 PM Finally got to see it and it was ok, but not a masterpiece... just fun.
I hope it is the last indy ever...
GoTitans3801 06-11-2008, 02:56 PM Over the last month, I've watched all three of the originals for the first time.
Temple of Doom barely qualifies as a movie. I was kind of disappointed in the series as a whole, but I had high expectations. I voted for the last crusade, I think Connery added a lot to the movie. It's a strange series really, just throwing in different female roles for the heck of it, and not connecting the stories in any way. I would call it a series, but not a trilogy...
Now I can go see the 4th one, and after reading this I'm prepared to be disappointed...
PhiSlammaJamma 06-16-2008, 01:49 AM I went with Raiders of the Lost Ark. I thought all three were appealing, but the Lost Ark seemed to pull me along a little better. The Cup of Christ was interesting, and scenes were smooth, but it did not feel as realistic to me with the old guardian still in there. I felt more connected to the story of the Ark, and like everyone, when he pulls out the gun to kill the ninjas it was just great theater that lasted a lifetime. Sean Conery was good though.
